In the Canada Place shopping centre, this Next takes up the space of two shops. There was a big sale going on when I was there(isn’t there always?) but this one seemed a bit more than usual. The displays were not as organized as usual and the place was, well, messy. The staff were doing what they could to keep up, but they were out-manned and out-gunned by the flow of customers. I managed to find a couple of bargains. I needed a clean t-shirt as the one I was wearing suffered a curry incident and I also managed to pick up a pair of jeans in my size. Very inexpensive, I was pleased with what I purchased. Maybe it’s not always this crazy.

Opposite the large Gap store, and close to the larger Canada Place Boots, and Waitrose, this Next store in in a medium sized unit, catering for Men’s and Women’s clothing. Obviously, being situated where it is, there’s a heavy emphasis certainly in the women’s section on suits and shirts, although given that this is, after all, Canary Wharf, I think there’s a little too much casual wear, especially in ranges where the same, or almost the same item is available in several colours. I’ve never found it desperately busy, and generally overstaffed. I don’t know if the floor staff double as store detectives, but there seems to be an awful lot of unnecessary rail re-stocking going on at lunchtimes, and after 5pm, when the store is busiest.
