A tiny litthe branch of Notes inside Canary Wharf station, that will make your commute nicer and warmer if you can spare a minute to grab a coffee from them! It is a very small place, no chairs or tables inside, just take away coffee and small selection of food, but it will fix your caffeine craving anytime of the day as their coffee is rich and strong and worth every penny compared to the ones you can get at Starbucks, Costa or Nero! Efficient, friendly and skilled staff. Even when the queue is long, you don’t have to wait for hours for the coffee.

Love this little coffee joint at Canary Wharf. I’d be honest, as an Aussie I find it ridiculously hard to get a half decent coffee in this country. Think it’s not that people can’t make good coffee, but more people just have not been exposed to good coffee culture and assume what you get at those Cosbla, Starbla or Pretbla is ‘coffee’… Well sorry, it’s not! A good coffee, without going into taste, crema, acidity etc, since they are all just too subjective, relies on just a few simple things: — the beans — fresh — the roast — sufficient — the grounds — right fresh & right grind — the water — temp and quality Notes does every one of these list consistently without fail! The grinds/beans are fresh, and the tempering and making is just right. A lovely layer of crema kicks starts a good day!(Sadly it cost!) Certainly worth a try! There’s a few shops around town, if you do care about your coffee, here’s once place worth trying!(I am NOT saying it’s the best in the world, I know a few other great places too — happened to all be owned by Aussies and Kiwis — but this one is one of the best near Canary Whatf) Enjoy a cuppa!

Little cute coffee shop inside Canary Wharf underground station. No tables or seats, it is mainly take away coffee and pastries. Coffee is so amazing! It would say one of the best in Canary Wharf so far. If you live or work in the area, forget about Starbucks or Costa(lots of them around!). This place it so worth it. Staff is quite friendly and funny. They’re always in such a good mood! They also had a loyalty card quite useful if you are a regular. They always seem to remember your face, which is a nice thing. They have a small selection of pastries and porridge in the morning and some sandwiches around lunchtime. You can also buy coffee to take home. They are really good giving advise about it, just in case you’re not an expert! Tiny place but good quality. Average price. Try it! I am a fan already!

Up until a few years ago, there was a dearth of third wave coffee in the Docklands. Now, there are two, Notes and Taylor Street Baristas, both of which have two outlets in the area, and, from what I can see, both of which are widely welcomed. Both of them have their strong points, but my regular since my office moved here has been Notes. This Notes outlet, based in Canary Wharf station itself(right outside the ticket barriers), is better described as a kiosk. It serves a selection of pastries and coffee made from beans from Notes’ own roastery(no pour overs though, just espresso-based drinks and brew-batch filter coffee). There’s no place to sit and there is really only space for five customers, with the rest of us waiting outside. Still, despite this, I’ve not had to wait too long for my order, which is the main reason this is my regular. The coffee here has been mostly good. As with all coffee shops, it depends on the barista, and not all of them are consistent. In terms of the loyalty scheme, it’s buy eight, get the ninth coffee free… But a completed loyalty card also entitles you to two-for-one beers at their larger outlet in Crossrail Place. For those who prefer a more digital approach, I think there’s also an app version.
