Classic fish and chip shop with a few basic ‘chinese’ dishes such as egg fried rice and sweet and sour chicken on offer too, according to a rough felt tip pen list pinned up on the wall to supplement the main overhead menu. No pretensions to be anything other than what it is. Freakish gherkins and pickled eggs in jars, a pathetic selection of lukewarm cans of fizzy pop, Pukka pies etc. Nothing astounding, just exactly what I expect from a decent local chippy. Tasty, not too greasy, nicely crispy fish and chips for under a fiver. Very sweet shy elderly lady on the till — up for a natter if you make the effort. I can see it from my flat. What’s not to like?
