Very close to home so I have popped in and enjoyed a lunch there. It’s however more pricey than Lerryn’s down the road(200 Rye Lane) and definitely not as good. Petitou is known as a bit of a Mum’s café, and the lack of wifi for customers makes me think they don’t mind that title. So if you are a mum with pram, pop in! Personally I would only really go in if it looked quiet and I couldn’t be bothered to walk a few metres further. However, both occasions don’t often happen!

Great breakfast options. Highly recommend the salmon and eggs. Niçoise salad looked so good I got it for breakfast. But probably more meant for lunch. Their lunch choices looked great too.

Tucked away from the legions of mums, prams and newly settled, former clapham set is this little gem. Cosy, cute and good breakfasts.

my favourite longstanding breakfast spot in Peckham Rye, near the station and just off of the Bellenden Road area, don’t worry I won’t call it the ‘village’. small menu, local produce, great coffee and the eggs(if a little runny for my liking) are always fresh and tasty. where do they get their avocados from? very very nice. cash only, family owned, quality ingredients and a lovely setting within a tree-lined street. recommend.

Yes hidden from the bustlier parts of Peckham a charming corner location with a characterful interior, of the souk meets shabby chic variety, populated by locals of all sorts through the day Petitou lives up to being one of the key meeting point places of the area around Bellenden Road. Certainly a rush on weekends, a favourite outside spot in spring and summer under the leafy old tree and always good when it has its lulls during the day. The stylish staff ferry the food and drink out from the tiny galley kitchen, and you wonder how they do it. Menu of limited but very good eggs breakfasts, but also mueslis, wonderful fruit salad, pastries and mmm toast. Lunch is quiches, salads, soups. All very good. Coffee machine kept busy through the day. Cakes in the afternoon are made by 2 or 3 local ladies and are usually gorgeous. Coffee and teas are the norm to chatter or read the paper to, but tiny vino and beer selection for something stronger. For those who support ‘localism’ Petitou’s credentials are top notch with the owners local and well liked by all. They buy the stock round about here, and as said there’s those cakes !

Strangely located Parisian-style Café, Petitou can be found hidden away off Bellenden Road on the picturesque residential street of Choumert Road. The café is built into a lovely old building, surrounded by trees, plants and vines growing up to the windows. Sitting outside on a summers morning you forget you’re in London, let alone Peckham! The food is good, maybe somewhat overpriced for the area and the coffee is nice. Don’t be fooled by the few middle-class mums and ‘mannys’ with push-chairs, this place is definitely worth a check out, especially for their lovely breakfast’s. A hidden gem in SE15!

Besides the mummys and the babys with their prams a fantastic place to forget the world and the time… A little hideaway in the area of Peckham which has only rare places where you would like to spent your time. But here’s one: simple and warming atmo and a delightful range of food. And great coffee. What else do you want?!

Think you know what Peckham’s all about? Visit Petitou and think again! Just off leafy Bellenden Road this gorgeous little café is a lovely retreat from the bustle of Rye Lane, though be wary of prime yummy mummy times when screaming toddlers break the peace in to smithereens. Ouch — I’m still rubbing my ears. Foodwise, I can recommend the gorgeous scrambled eggs and the coffee is delicious too. I visited during the madness of NaNoWriMo and managed to knock out a couple of thousand words at the table by the window despite the wails of babies so if I could just work out the quiet times Petitou could become my café retreat of choice.

Lost in Peckham? Wander up and retreat into the leafy Petitou courtyard just minutes from the wild rabble of the Peckham Rye. it’s a homely coffee shop, its rustic worn furniture often filled with local artists armed with their laptops or Dulwich mummies who lunch. It’s run by a very nice couple who live in the house opposite and is hidden away in the more sedate part of Peckham near Bellenden Road(I believe they’re calling it East Peckham of late) They serve delicious lattes, a smashing smoked salmon and scrambled eggs — one of their specialities, and gorgeous cakes.
