Meh, the price was ok for the location. The food was ok — the pizza tasted like American Pizza Hut. The pasta was too sweet and tasted strongly of basil. Overall it was just ok. I suppose you could go here if you’re in the mood for Italian and don’t want to venture far from a theater.

We ate here twice on our recent trip to London. I think this could well be the best pizza I have ever tasted to date. The staff are lovely and, even better, they accept a Tastecard meaning we got 50% off our bill. A great central location– go next door to Brewmaster for a drink first, here for pizza then see a show for a fun night in The Big Smoke.

The staff was nice but the food mediocre. We ordered salmon fingers and potato wedges for our baby girl. Both were served piping hot and over cooked. Tuna melt, pasta, and smoked salmon on bagel were nothing special. Sorry really wanted to like this place

Lovely spot. Quiet but prompt service, away from the madness of the square. I had theater reservations, and confirmed that my order could be prepared in the time I had. They understood and, indeed, everything came on time. In addition, everything I ordered was much tastier than I expected. I’m just so used to places with this kind of location just resting on their kitchen laurels, and sending out slop for high prices. This was quality food for reasonable prices.

Just been for my second visit to Piazza, an absolute bargain with a taste card. The first time I had a deliciously thin, crispy pizza. This time, I went for sea bass, which was fried lightly in bread crumbs and perched on a mound of well-seasoned veg and a few roast potatoes. There could have been more spuds, but the fish and veg were somehow filling enough. My pal had the rib-eye, which she assured me wasn’t chewy and nice enough. For a casual pre or post theatre meal, it’s a perfectly decent choice. I’m sure I’ll be back to try the dessert menu.

Very authentic. Run by Italians. They were so nice. Everything was a 5. Lasagna. Pizza was so good.

Reasonable quality food, swift service & free wifi. Unfortunately cannot stand when a business tacks on a service charge for a single person £15 meal and hides it somewhere on the back of the menu

Great hidden gem. Quaint place with great food, prices and service. I am very picky when it comes to Italian good and this place has it down.

We went here with our tastecard at 4pm on Sunday(they were 75% empty) to have two coffees and two desserts. Before sitting down, we asked the waitress if that was okay to use our tastecard, who confirmed it was, and then whilst looking through the dessert menu, a male manager came over, and started shouting at us to either order a full meal or get out. We were quite shocked and explained that we had already eaten and just want the dessert as we came for tiramisu, and that with the tastecard customers are entitled to use it on any food course– customers do not need to order a full meal. However, he continued shouting and physically pushing us out of our chairs and out of the door. This place does not deserve your custom– go to another independent restaurant where staff are not rude and aggressive to customers and who actually deserve your custom.

Food was delicious, typical homemade Italian food. Service was great even though I had some read some reviews that it was poor. It made is slightly better that I had managed to get a meal voucher online but they had a board up outside for a two course meal for £8.95 which I think it a bargain. Nice and easy to find just opposite Leicester Square station.

this place has a great deal. 2 courses for under £9! and this food is great food! I had the risotto! massive portion and really tasty and creamy! and for starter i had the garlic bread with cheese. wow. calories and fat galore… but you gotta treat yourself sometimes don’t you?!

I was absolutely famished after a long morning of classes and Piazza was just the place to fill me up. Located near the Museum of London, you will see businessmen and students alike queuing up to grab a tasty sandwich. Although this establishment advertises as a sandwich bar, Piazza serves up much more than sandwiches. However, I did get the Sicilian sandwich, a delicious combination of chicken, goat cheese and onions. My friend ordered the penne pasta. This was no pre-prepared pasta. Hot off the stove, this penne had both chicken and beef in it and was topped with a light yet spicy tomato sauce. A wonderful place to sit outside and watch the world go by. Also conveniently located right next to the tube stop, so you can grab and go. Next time you are hungry for a great sandwich and lovely people standing behind the counter, go to Piazza!

I’ve always walked past this place barely noticing that it even existed, until the Saturday just gone when, exiting Leicester Square station, my lady-friend and I felt like having lunch and an Italian sounded good to both of us. So we went straight in to this little place that neither of us had ever considered going in to before named La Piazza. The décor inside is pleasing enough, not fancy but nice with reminders of Italy dotted around the place(statues, paintings, ornaments, that sort of thing). This was all fine and it wasn’t until the waiting staff flew in to action(that was sarcasm) that I started to feel a bit ambivalent towards the place. When placing our orders we felt like the waiter wasn’t really listening to us and that he was in a bit of a hurry despite not leaping(more sarcasm) to the next task at hand. It wasn’t just us I noticed though, I saw at least a few other customers having to deal with the lacklustre staff(some waiting a long time to be served, others seemed to receive a rather inelegant reception). They did however reach a level of pleasantness that I will call«pleasant enough» as the dining experience went on. As for the food, my lady-friend and I had sightly differing opinions. She had a vegetable Cannelloni(which she quite enjoyed) and I had a Chicken and Mushroom Risotto(which I found to be a bit bland and not containing enough mushrooms). We both drank tea(which was nice) and shared some cheesy garlic bread(which was very nice). The menu was actually quite comprehensive, featuring a good range of food choices(apparently I didn’t pick the best one) and the prices are quite reasonable. On the whole the experience was OK, I was a bit put off by the staff’s initial attitude and my particular dish but the latter doesn’t necessarily make for a bad time. To sum up, La Piazza will make for a decent dining experience but with so much choice in the area you could find better if you’re prepared to look, Ciao, Ian

This restaurant is a little gem in a crowded place. With so many choices in the area, it would be easy to pass Piazza by without hesitation. The exterior smacks of a quick-eat bistro, nowehere special, maybe next time if I’m in a hurry. All I’m saying is don’t be so quick to judge. Sure, it’s not the fanciest place, but it doesn’t pretend to be. The menu has all sorts of options, from the usual Italian salads and breads, to really great seafood and pizzas. I had the mussels, and they were largest I’ve ever had. The accompanying tomato sauce was yummy and for £5 I was a happy customer. The wine list is smallish, but all good, by the looks of things(I didn’t try them all!) You can have your choice of Merlot, Chianti, Rioja, Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc. they’re all there, just not five of each. My pizza was cooked to perfection and the steak looked great(from meat-eating eyes, I imagine) too. To finish, the cheesecake went down a treat — not the bestest ever ever, maybe, but certainly not the rubbery rubbish you get in some places around town. The ambiance was chilled and relaxed, the service fast and friendly, and the whole dining experience very pleasant. Next time you’re near Leicester Sqaure and need an eatery, take a look and see. You might just be surprised.
