Had dinner on Friday with party of 6, absolutely fabulous service and food was so great. I wanted to go back the next day but my friends thought i should experience more variety in London. I still think you shouldn’t mess with perfection. Go. You will not regret it.

This place makes me so ANGRY! like I want to punch a kitten angry. Italian food is arguably«easy», in that the cuisine relies on good, fresh, clean ingredients and for fuck’s sake, how do you serve overcooked, oversauced, overseasoned PASTA? It only takes the mental capacity of a fucktard to make pasta, so for an actual establishment –in South Kensington no less– to mess this up… i mean come on. And the pizzas? Lord help me with the pizza. The salad too… I had a caprese and the mozzarella was chewing gum imported from Chernobyl. I am NOT a fan.

The food was very nice, but I ordered a pasta and the portion was much too small. If it had been advertised as an entrée, that’s perhaps to be expected, but a main course shouldn’t leave you hungry.

Awesome Hawaiian Pizzas one is big enough for two people. We are here two days in a row.

Pros: Excellent food, good drinks list, and very reasonable prices(especially for the area). Cons: It was pretty tiny inside, which meant we were rammed right up against other tables. This is fine if the other people you’re eating near are okay, but it’s not great when you end up next to a really noisy table with terrible manners(there was some serious staring happening and it was very off-putting). It was also really noisy, and the front door didn’t shut properly, so we got a burst of cold air from outdoors every five minutes. If I were rating just on the food, it would get 4+ stars because the food was delicious and came quickly. But the slow service and terrible atmosphere has dinged it down a lot.

There’s nothing special about this place. I got penne ala siciliana and it was alright. Service was kindda slow, we had to call them 3 time to get the bill!

Took a friend here after a Sunday service at the Brompton Oratory and we were both impressed with our meals. I had a pizza and she had lasagna. Quick service, other than the check which took awhile to get. The take away box for my leftover pizza kinda smushed the pizza but it was a nice atmosphere for a late Sunday lunch. Recommend it! Good food, nice workers, nice location.

Based on other Unilocal reviews we gave this place a try. Fried calamari and shrimp was basic and bland, and caprese pizza with sun dried tomatoes was just OK. Crust was good but toppings were spare and unimaginative. Wines were good, however. Space is cozy if cramped. Service was inattentive and absent minded. Our server had to ask us again what we had when he went to calculate the bill because he never wrote any of it down. Service charge was added in for party of 2 and I would have made it lower if I could. Disappointing given the other reviews on here and the surrounding area.

I had a very pleasant lunch at Pierino following a visit to the Victoria and Albert Museum. Upon entering the establishment, I was blown away by the simplistic yet chic décor at Pierino. It’s very clean yet still inviting, which I liked. I ordered a pasta dish with mushrooms and cheese which was beyond incredible – the cheese was fresh and the pasta tasted homemade. Most of the wait staff appeared to be Italian so I guess that explains the delectable food here! It’s truly authentic and delicious. The restaurant was very quiet when I was there which was an added bonus, plus most of the items on the menu were fairly priced. I’ll be back next time I’m in London!

The staff and service was outstanding. My boys destroyed their pasta dishes including spaghetti and pasta verogonle(clams). My wife had some chicken and forced some tomato alla caprese on me. The alla caprese was not on the menu but they whipped it up anyway. Enjoyed the family atmosphere and great service but since my boys did not share their food with me I cannot rate them higher. They do have an excellent wine selection and recommended a great red to my wife. Meanwhile I enjoyed another Peroni.

Okay spot if you’re near by next to the South Kensington station, for me after a haunt at one of the museums close by, this seemed like a nice place to check out. Service I felt kind of weird coming here and waited on by their staff. I don’t know how to describe it, but it was odd although it was a solid experience. Food Black Ravioli with lobster and crab meat. This was off their daily specials. It came with a tangy-spicy thai influenced sauce and grilled cherry tomatoes on the vine. When combining everything on the dish, the bite is quite excellent. Individual elements were good as well, but all together was great. Wish there were more of the cherry tomatoes to go with the ravioli. Dessert Before choosing they have a frig/freezer in the dining area where they bring you to in order to select the dessert of your choice. Basically whatever looks good to you, get it. I grabbed the tiramisu, which was solid dessert, but nothing extraordinary about it.

Delightful Italian place, ideal pre/post-museum trip in South Ken. I took my date here for lunch before heading to the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibit. She had the risotto and I had a ham and mushroom pizza. We were both very happy with the food, tasty and fresh-tasting food. The staff were very friendly, but I’ve knocked off one star as I booked in advance but we still had to wait for a table, it felt like they just waited until someone was done to seat us.

Really bad food. Took 5 minutes to make a risotto. It doesn’t take 5 minutes to make risotto. It was rice with sauce. The Penne was pathetic. I’m a student and I make budget penne at home that tastes 100 times better.

Stopped in for lunch after finding it on the trusty Unilocal App. Menu offered a good choice. I was torn between the pizza which looked awesome and the cannelloni. I chose the cannelloni in the end, which was very dry compared to other restaurants I’ve had it in(definitely would benefit from more sauce). Staff were friendly enough and were around quite frequently. Our experience here added to a lovely afternoon out in South Ken.

After a rather annoying struggle to make plans with our friends, I decided to take it upon myself to check Unilocal(trusty Unilocal!) to make dinner plans for a pre-Christmas get together. As our friends wanted to hang out in their old Imperial College stomping grounds, I quickly chose Pierino. The website for Pierino was not working but I read the reviews and called their number. Eureka! They were able to book us for dinner for eight people and had plenty of vegetarian options to spare… which is a must for a group where all but one diner are vegetarians. If you’re at South Kensington station, Pierino is a short walk. Don’t arrive too early — if your table isn’t ready, there is no where for you to sit. Seeing as it is December and it was coming down with rain, we were annoyed about not being able to be warm and cozy before being seated for our meal. Reservations are a must — Pierino is tiny and popular. BOOKAHEAD, okay? We were seated in a rather cramped section across from the bar, but no matter. The restaurant was crowded and the fact that many of the patrons of the restaurant — as well as the staff — were speaking beautiful, musical Italian gave us good vibes that the meal would be promising. We had a bit of trouble ordering drinks due to the language barrier but our trusty waitress took our drink orders. I had a bellini(needed a bit more of the peach purée, if you ask me) and the rest of our group had lemonades or beers. We ordered starters — a mix of salads, garlic bread and bruschetta. Everything came in hearty portions(be warned, one garlic bread portion is MASSIVE while some of the salads are perfect for just two people). We chose wisely due to the help of our lovely waitress. Ordering mains wasn’t difficult as there were so many vegetarian choices but BEWARNED: For some reason, at Pierino, some of the dishes that are vegetarian are NOT(seafood is not vegetarian, my friends) while other dishes are vegetarian and are not marked appropriately. Read everything you’re ordering — don’t trust the ‘V’ or lack thereof to order your meal. We selected an array of pastas(the cannelloni was ordered by three of us), pizzas, and one risotto(mine!) and waited for our meal. Pizzas arrived first and some of our friends felt strange eating but food was hot and there was no need to wait. The pastas and risotto took a bit longer but our food arrived soon enough and we dug in. All requests(please add chilis, remove mushrooms) were taken into account beautifully and we all ate our food. Portions are generous so one can eat a pizza to themselves if they’d like or order two between a pair and share. Pastas are quite big, as well. Everything about Pierino was pleasant. A few bumps in the road but the fact that it’s in such a convenient location is a plus. I don’t know when we’ll be back but I’d like to give it another shot!

It could have been an off night, but for starters the service was very poor. We arrived at about 8:30 on a Monday night and the restaurant was very full as it was a nice evening. Let’s start with the service. We decided to sit outside after the host indicated the table was available. We ended up waiting quite awhile before anyone came over to ask us what we would like to drink or order. After ordering, we saw the waitress bring over our pastas before the appetizer, realizing she had forgotten our salad and go back into the kitchen… needless to say they did not re-prepare our main dishes. Now onto the food, my friend and I ordered a tricolore salad with mozzarella and avocado to share. I was disappointed to find the mozzarella was not fresh or flavorful, it appeared to have been purchased at a supermarket. For my main I had a pasta with a light tomato cream sauce, spring onion, peas and bacon. The sauce on the pasta lacked any flavor. However, my companion did like her pasta which had fresh vegetables and chicken. Overall, I was unimpressed. There are far too many great Italian restaurants in South Kensington if you venture a bit away from the tube station to spend your money here.

My family enjoyed this pleasant, little Italian place in South Kensington. We all tried different types of pasta, everything was good. The portions were fairly large, especially for the fair price. We just had the house red wine with dinner, which was not anything great, but they offer other wine options. My only real complaint was that we had ordered salads to start and were given no time between the salad and and the main meal being brought tot he table. The salad was very good(mostly because of the creamy dressing that was on it). While I appreciate that it did not take long for our meal to come, I think they should give the dinners some time with the starter first. We were seated inside as it was rainy the day we came(what, raining in London?!). They have a small outside area with tables(and heat lamps) that would be nice to sit outside and people watch.

This was a delicious pizza for a decent price! Like a before reviewer said, the pizza is very wet and does need some utensil use at first, but that is not really a major issue since the taste is good. The restaurant was reasonably full the whole time we were there, and that is saying something considering so many restaurants have empty seats regularly during the week. It was strange that they assumed I was tipping 2.50 pounds for my 7.50 pizza when I paid with a 10. I would have gladly given a tip for the service and pizza, but was a bit disappointed they did not provide me the opportunity to do so.

Love this place! It is always busy and run by authentic Italians… a majority of the staff is always speaking Italian. They have a nice wine selection, scrumptious pizzas, and wonderful pasta dishes(I especially recommend any of their baked pasta dishes). This is one of those places that you want to go with friends and just spend the evening sipping down a bottle of wine.

One of my favorite places to dine in London! What can I say, but thank God we found this little Gem! Located in the South Kensington area of London, this Italian Restaurant is by far the best one in London! The people who work there greet you at the door and completely make you feel at home. The ambiance is wonderful and you feel like you’ve stepped into Italy… London is no more in this place! The food is SPECTACULAR! Every time we have been here we are NOT disappointed at all! The pizza’s are made just like they are made in Italy. NOT like an American pizza! American pizzas are so greasy and fattening… Pierino Pizza’s are light and so full of flavor! So light you can eat one all by yourself! The pasta and the pasta sauces are very favorable. You just have to eat the entire dish! The wine selection is fabulous as well! The house wine is always great and never disappointing as in some places. Try the Limon Cello as well for an after dinner apéritif! So tasty, you’ll want more than just one glass! We will always recommend this place to our friends and family who are visiting or who live here! I give this place a 2 thumbs up!!!
