Poncho 8 is a pretty average establishment. The only thing that I’ve had from there is the burrito so that is all that I can comment on. Everything about my visit screams just OK. The meat tasted OK, there was an OK amount of filling and the price was OK, even with an extra £1 for guacamole. I can’t bring myself to get excited about my food from there but I wouldn’t say that I didn’t enjoy it, just not enough to rush back. If you are in the area and there’s a big queue at Chilango’s it’s worth a shot. Maybe you’ll like it more than me!

I am a big fan of one specific burrito chain and rarely I go to the others. I’ve had burrito from Poncho some years back and I remember it as a decent one, so during the £3 Poncho week in the Devonshire branch, I decided to give it a go and see how it compares now. I’m a pescatarian, so the only option here was the veggie. I chose brown rice, and said to the server I want it medium and all with the veggies that go with it. Knowing that guacamole is free in veggie buritos, I pointed to it and said I want it too. The server said ‘it’s free’, but for some weird reason didn’t put it in my wrap, which I only realized back in the office. The burrito was dry(my fellow diners, who went for meaty options, said the same) and the big chunks of raw carrot and courgettes were unpleasant to bite. My colleagues were a bit more satisfied, but I think unless they improve the recipe for the veggie one and their stuff, I’m not going back.

Tucked away in one of the by lanes around Liverpool Street station, the only reason I stepped in was the giant plaque outside claiming this was the best burrito in London. And they aren’t lying. I had the pulled pork burrito: both in the whole wheat tortilla and a naked one. The rice is good. They have a choice of two rice types: tomato and brown. Both are good. And the beans are well cooked too. But what makes the burrito is the pork. Juicy in every bite! Their nachos are baked, not fried, and the medium salsa is a perfect accompaniment. Definitely coming here again.

Not impressed. I had the chicken salad box thing, iceberg lettuce was not dried and left load of water in the bottom of the dish. Chicken was dissapoiting in flavour — Nachos chips were boring. I actually emailed them to tell them to spend more time at Chipotle because of how disappointed i was. They responded nicely, but they are clearly delusional about the level of quality they are delivering here… Wouldn’t be surpised if they were out of business soon. The good — they had one salsa that was delicious — a bit sweet and spicy — super yummy.

They say this is the place to get the best burritos in London… And it would be hard to disagree ! The queue may seem impressive and yet it goes quite fast. And while the service creates your food in a speedy way, they are still friendly and smiling. The burritos and fajitas are good indeed, quite tasty, yet not oozing juices like in so many places. The fruit juices are very refreshing. A great place to have lunch for City workers !

this is a hidden spot that is less known in comparison to their other store near old Spitalfields. just a note, it’s located in that small alley way next to Tesco metro! Was browsing through their menu and to my surprise discovered that they carry a breakfast menu! big A+! Got a vegetarian salad bowl, which was HUGE by the way. their braised chicken and beef also looked delicious(aka not dry) Two kinda of rice to choose from: tomato and whole grain. Their whole grain was a tad sticky… but I guess the sound of whole(holy) grain made it sound like a healthier option. Then there was black beans and refried beans, plus ***bonus round*** cookies veggies(peppers, carrots) to choose from in terms of ‘beans’ option. Black beans weren’t cooked properly and carried that awkward bean aftertaste. Refried was alright. Vegetarian option also came with guacamole. UM, but was disappointed to find it tasting too sour!!! BOO. Seriously! Chilango does a better job on guac I swear. Anyway, their portion was huge for £5.90! Also do try out their granola pots, the yogurt was thick and creamy(unlike cheap tasting gourmet ones). Estaba delicioso!
