The food was fresh, amazing and super quick! The staff were wonderful. Next time I’m in London I’ll be back for more!

I was unimpressed. I found my burrito slightly too drippy from the salsa and the tortilla chips(not included) overdone. Maybe good for late night, but not a worthwhile notch on my burrito bedpost.

Awesome! A Chilango in Spitalfields! One of my favourite burrito chains continues its expansion. This one is tiny but well placed and is going to draw me in pretty much any time I’m nearby and hungry. It’s loads better than Poncho No.8 so unless it’s closed, come here for your burrito if you’re in the area!

So… I love Chilango in Angel… And this is a chain right? So how come I love this branch better. I’m really not sure why! If I were going to be honest however, it maybe has something to do about whenever I have visited here they have cooked my steak fresh for me — making it tender, soft and succulent. Absolutely amazing! I also quite like how in this store the counter is more open(not huddled in a corner), so you can see what you’re getting — although the downside is that there is limited table space, this is far more of a ‘takeaway’ option than their Angel branch(you don’t really have that choice) Chilango for me remains one of the best burrito restaurant in London, great ingredients, good potion sizes, and a great flavour. Keep up the good work!

I never thought I’d say this, but this place is *almost* as good as Chipotle! In fact, the first time I ate here I was astonished at how good it was. Shocked. There’s plenty of Mexican joints these days in London, and most only distinguish themselves by their toppings or their specials. But here, the meat itself is GOOD. Like, good all on its own. Nearly, I say again, as good as Chipotle. That in of itself is enough to warrant any number of return visits, but I’ll be damned if the rest of what Chilango has to offer isn’t pretty darn great as well! Their black beans and their sour cream are both outstanding. I can’t say I’m the greatest fan of the cheese on its own; it’s a bit intense, but in a burrito it’s a proper fit. If you’re near Spitalfields and craving some burritos, you can’t go wrong.

The UK version of the American Chipotle. Tries pretty hard, but is definitely no Chipotle. Same concept, but the flavors just don’t measure up. Great location in the Liverpool Street area near the Spitalfields market area. Sure did hit the spot though on a busy day when I was craving a semi-healthy lunch option. Go for the salad bowl here if you are looking for something on the lighter side.

Obviously, located around Liverpool Street, this is a place packed with office peeps during those peek lunch hours, so do avoid at all cost if you’re looking to somewhat enjoy a semi authentic Mexican takeaway(let’s be real, we all know LA makes the best Mexican food) Anyhow, to keep it short, portions are generous, GUACAMOLEISFRESH! Very important. Beans are not too soggy(zing!) and service is pretty quick. Chili is fairly spicy, but behold the three options if you’re not a spicy fan. Not sure if their £1 tortilla chips are worth it as they’re pretty tasteless. Closes later than Poncho 8 next door, I’m coming here for my late night post workout snack y’all.

Oh you already know how I feel about you Chilango. You are my secret love, my faithful friend, my not-so-well-hidden addiction and the reason for my expanding waistline. Your angel branch is so conveniently located for lunch on the green or a pre-cinema/karaōke meal but what’s this, you’ve opened even closer to my house?! Oh god, the end is near… Well, almost. Because this isn’t some Spitalfields restaurant for, you know, people like me, it’s not even a restaurant really. This is a burrito take-away only joint open weekdays only and aimed purely at the people who work in those big, shiny, glass buildings. It’s also round the corner from Poncho No 8 — another weekdays only burrito place. Was there a need for a Chilango here? Judging by the queue today and the brisk business, yes. But hey, it’s new and I fear two burrito joints literally round the corner from each other will struggle to both survive.

A bijou new addition to the Chilango chain, located just near Spitalfield Market, nestled between Liverpool Street and Brick Lane. The same range of burritos, tacos, and salads as found in the other Chilango outlets, served up with the same sunny disposition. I thoroughly recommend the pork belly burrito, with everything a prince among sandwiches. I also find Chilango’s tortilla chips a little less salty than some others. However, as with all of the contenders in this particular segment of the market(Tortilla, Chilango, Poncho 8, etc.), I have to say that I still find them somewhat overpriced I can’t imagine that 10 quid for a effectively a good sandwich and a drink is really supportable in the long term.
