Some of the worst service I have ever had. The waitress either ignored us or acted like it was pulling teeth to serve us. She barely listened to our order, repeatedly brought us the wrong thing, even when we elaborated multiple times, and then had the nerve to complain about us two feet from our table with one of her coworkers. In addition, even though the special autumn menu was advertised outside the restaurant, in the menu, and on the table, when we tried to order from it, she told us it was not available and acted like it was our job to know that the kitchen didn’t have the supplies in stock. Would not recommend to anyone ever. The waitress and manager should not be in the service industry if they are annoyed by the presence of people.

I’ve never properly been to Covent Garden. After getting lost for awhile we were getting hungry and running a bit late but definitely needed some sustenance as we had a long night ahead. Prezzo to the rescue. I know what I’m getting here so we ran in. As you would expect it was very clean and modern. We went straight in with the antipasto sharer, can’t go wrong with that, followed by a V.I.Pizza, which is quite sizeable. Exactly what I was after, a quick heavy feed. Food was lovely and although probably due to the restaurant being quite quiet the service was as we hoped, quick, friendly and efficient. In and out within 30 minutes and on with the rest of our night.

The food was AMAZING – pollo carbonara, lasagna, spaghetti with meatballs, Italian burger and pepperoni pizza. But… Our waitress was extremely rude and slow. She acted like she didn’t want to be there. Every time my daughter clearly asked for a regular coke she and a waiter said, «Diet coke?» She didn’t get my drink order correct(water without ice) and wasn’t helpful when we asked about entrée suggestions. «It’s just food.» Wow. She made a point of telling me she burned her arm on my plate from the oven when she was bringing it to me. Was I supposed to tip her extra for her pain?! She was missing in action during most of the time and didn’t ask if we wanted Parmesan cheese or condiments until several minutes after we started eating. They ran out of ketchup for my husband’s fries. I know they like vinegar with fries/chips here, but I’m sure we weren’t the first Americans to want ketchup. We had to ask for drink refills every time. Then they couldn’t get the credit card machine to work and mumbled something while walking away twice and leaving us uninformed for several minutes. Finally my husband threw bills on the table so we could leave.

We just went in because it was raining and we were hungry. I normally try to avoid chains, BUT: We had pasta and as far as I remember it tasted great. We ended up spending almost three hours in there and emptying 3 bottles of wine. Everything I remember is the wine is great, the food tastes good and the prices are reasonable.

I ate dinner here last Friday evening, the food was fairly average, pretty much as expected from a chain restaurant. Friendly staff and good service though, and we had a buy one main course get one free voucher which made it worth the money!

When i first came to Prezzo I was quite pleased. The service was wonderful and the menu looked delightful and delicious. Being cautious about dairy products as i can be a bit sensitive to lactose, it was a bit more difficult to find something that i personally could eat. I decided on the good ol fashioned spaghetti and meatballs with mushrooms. Unfortunately when i got my meal, the mushrooms were burnt which proceeded to the rest of my dish tasting a bit burnt as well… first time at Prezzo… not impressed. The dessert menu was the next thing to take a gander at and it looked delicious. We ordered the honeycomb cheese cake(5 thumbs up!!) and the chocolate cake(3 thumbs up). The dessert was the best part of the meal and well worth the trip. Being a Unilocaler. I wanted to try Prezzo one more time in hopes of giving them a better review of food, so i went back a second time and ordered something a bit different. This one was called fuscilli con bufalo(something like that) which contained buffalo milk cheese, fuscilli pasta and basil. This meal turned out to be much better than my first, so i was very excited to write a fabulous review on this lovely restaurant… HOWEVER, as i was sitting there, the restaurant continued to get busier and busier and the service became less and less satisfying so sadly I can only give this place 3 stars for an A Ok. Sure, the location is great, the service is pretty good, the food isn’t bad, but the next time i come here, I’m going to set my mind on the honeycomb cheesecake because that was definitely the best part of both my meals.

Prezzo is a chain of Italian restaurants, serving inexpensive, accessible food. What I like about Prezzo locations is that they look like hip, modern independent restaurants, not like schlocky chains(TGIF, etc.). I actually didn’t realize it was a chain until I walked by 3 other locations in the Covent Garden area. It is like going into a Zara clothing store. It looks swanky, but then you realize they all look the same and are all full of decent, inexpensive if not unimaginative clothing. Prezzo’s food and wine is the same. Upon entering, I was greeted by a friendly host and seated promptly. Most of the menu items in the 8 – 12 pound price range and the wine was reasonably priced as well. I got penne bolognese, kind of a no-brainer, but whatever, it was tasty — the pasta al-dente, the sauce was a decent bolognese, not just tomato sauce with ground meat in it. This location is convenient to Trafalgar Square and all the associated museums and landmarks in the area.
