I stopped here for drinks on a week night. The décor is modern for a pub. The bar staff was friendly and helpful. They have a good selection of ales and several real ales on tap. I didn’t try anything from the kitchen.

A great place to chill, read, and eat well! Add the brilliant reggae music and a plethora of other funky tunes, and I’m in heaven.

Nice large pub, great staff who are friendly and very helpful. Went here with a friend and we shared the BBQ chicken, Fries, Coleslaw and Corn which cost £30 and was absolutely delicious. We had to wait half hour for it to be cooked, which the waitress had told us, but as we were out for a social evening this was not a problem. We decided to have the aubergine marinated olives, I wasn’t keen but my dining partner liked them. Had a nice white Rioja and a glass of Prosecco each. Total cost for the evening was £80. They do after dinner cocktails only, if they did other cocktails I would have scored this place a 5. Will certainly be going again

It’s a pub, it’s a restaurant, but from my visit here, nothing really stood out. There’s a view of the surrounding apartments but it’s not really a high profile, high traffic area, so if you want a nice place where you just want to be left alone while you are getting hammered, than this place will definitely suit you. Sure they serve the warm beer here and I did need to piss every 5 minutes because I’ve been drinking heavily since I arrived from the airport, there’s really nothing special about this bar. I do like the name though. The pint prices have been comparable with the other pubs that I’ve visited so far today at about £3.70 so there were no surprise there. Besides the really cool views of old apartments, you can sit outside and drink on the sidewalk. Now that’s cool. There’s some decent jazz music in the background, if you can hear it amongst the loud crowd here.

Wow! We had the most amazing Sunday roast here — the plate was piled high with roast beef, veggies, potatoes and Yorkshire pudding, all of which were delicious! Large portions, super friendly staff and a cozy, cute setting = a perfect meal on a rainy Sunday.

A bit scene-y after work and on weekends making getting a table near impossible at times; food is pricey; they’ve messed up my order more than once… these are a few of the things that I really dislike about the Prince Bonaparte. But you can’t really beat the jovial atmosphere. It’s warm and comforting, as a pub should be. And the people watching is often pretty amazing in itself. In the end the pros outweigh the cons, making it one of the better options at this end of Notting Hill/Bayswater.

I came back here for a Sunday roast, and wow, was it ever good. Roast beef, with a ton of delicious roasted veggies and Yorkshire pudding. Staff were also super nice this time and very attentive.

Wow Mr. Bonaparte you know how to impress a lady and her party! We arrived to a group of tables that were reserved for a friend’s boyfriend’s surprise party. The atmosphere was warm, cozy, and rustic modern — without being too pretentious. We spent the afternoon amongst a good company and fine selection of ales and cider. Their menu varies day to day depending on seasonal selections. All the main courses were modern variations of British classics. Though I ordered a simple burger it was made with British Angus beef with beet greens and gherkin. And it was juicy and tasty! I was impressed with the menu selection of fresh and well-put together ingredients and tastes. A great gastropub to visit if you’re in the area and craving premium British food.

I had the moat amazingly satisfying vegetarian dinner here. It was a savory beans and mushrooms dish, with roasted salsify and toasted triangles of polenta. My husband loved his salmon, and my kid loved her cheese plate. We came early(gotta love jetlag) and had to hang out, drinking bitters and eating crisps, until the kitchen opened at 6pm. The service was fine, but the crowd was sparse.

The best pub in Notting Hill by far! Their new kitchen and staff are awesome. Menu prices are top end pub prices, but still represent value for the area.

Great pub for a lazy sunday. I had a carpaccio of swordfish for starters and it was a revelation. The roast beef that followed was cooked to perfection, decent york’s pud and good quality vegs. Can’t ask for more and the setting is cozy, stylish yet unpretentious. Check this one out.

I wandered past here on a Saturday afternoon with a friend, both of us Cornish in one way or another, and having never been in, glanced through the window. «Oh look, they’ve got three Cornish beers on!». By this point we’d just walked past the building. We stopped, did an abrupt turn, and peered through the glass again. «It’s Sharps beer». Several nanoseconds later, we’d both ordered a pint of Cornish Coaster, and were surveying the interior. A nice airy lounge bar with a traditional pub feel, plenty of seating and by the looks of it, very welcoming to families. The beer was served in glass tankards, which is a rarity these days. Plus points for that. Some people were eating, some were drinking coffee, others had wine or real ale. The beer was well-kept, and went down a treat. We only stopped in for the one, so I don’t know what the food is like, but having had a glance at the menu I am tempted to come back and try it out. I doubt they always do all-Cornish beer, but hopefully it means that the landlord has good taste!

I stumbled across the Prince with a friend while trying to find a pub with free WiFi. We were most pleased to have chanced upon the Bonaparte. I did however regret having had lunch previously as the menu here looked good. Decent bitter on tap, spacious tables, low key atmosphere(on a midweek afternoon anyway) will bring me back again. The décor reminded me of a handful of other pubs around town(most notable the Carpenters Arms in Fitzrovia) that have a tongue-in-cheek and somewhat twee feel while still retaining an edge and a a sense of contemporary urban taste. As a freelancer that finds myself bopping all over town for work, I love coming across gems like this — just a good place to plop down for a spell while grabbing a bite and/or a pint and doing a bit of work — or simply collecting my thoughts.

I’ve been to the Bonaparte enough times to consider it a local. It’s a great pub but only at quieter times. When it’s crowded, you don’t even notice the huge windows facing the street, the cool chandeliers or the precious dining area to the back. It just gets hots and the service seems to dissipate as well. The Bonaparte also serves excellent, predominantly British food, and you can reserve a few tables for a big group if necessary.

This used to be my local and the food has always been quite good(bangers and mash that sort of thing) but it went through a stage where the service was truly bad. Things seem to have improved recently so there should be nothing holding you back. A lovely pub. See more here

The food is great, such a great choice on the menu, for all tastes, a great pub if you have a baby as they accomodate you and its not too noisy lovely lounge areas to sit in or long tables to share on colder days they have a great fire going to warm the place up, the wine list is also great, had a superb bottle of red, and the prices are reasonable. The menu had great vegetarian choices I had th spinach and lentil burger, really good, my husband had the bacon burger and was very impressed. This place has been refurbished in the last year and looks really great and welcoming. l
