Absolutely disgusting. This place is dirty and the owner is really dirty. He apparently believes he can sell you his goods by telling you to buy them. That is not really how things work. It is a mystery to me why people go here when there are many nice places within a few blocks, for example on Westbourne Grove. Go there instead.

I really wanted to like Haminados. I came for lunch on a Monday and sat in the back garden. Joseph and his associate(son perhaps) were nice enough. The garden was nice but nothing to write home about. As I tried to decide what to eat, the associate threw out a number of options. He asked meat or veggie and I replied veggie. The food was a modest sized spinach pasta bake with a small assortment of mediterranean salads — some hummus, some dark cabbage, some greek salad, etc — on the side. In my opinion the pasta bake lacked flavour. I also had a peppermint tea and a mocha. When I went to the counter to pay, I was charged £15. £10 for the spinach pasta bake, £2 for the tea, and £3 for the mocha. This did not actually line up with the listed prices I could see. If the meal were really tasty then I would have gladly paid £10 for it but for a small portion of bland spinach pasta bake and some salads slapped on the side it seemed a bit much. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing

In the age of Starbucks and mass produced goods, it is easy to forget how precious quality food is. From the coffee to the baked goods, everything is superb here, and it is all made fresh. According to Joseph, the owner, they«have something for everyone here,» and that could not be more true. No matter your taste or your background, you will be sure to find something that you enjoy. My family and I went early in the morning, so we got to try the items right as they were coming out of the oven, and I have never treasured breakfast so much. In addition to the high quality food, there is high quality atmosphere. Joseph, is an absolute gem. You could tell that he really cared about his work and his customers, and we were able to witness his personal connections with his regulars. Joseph told us that his main ingredient is love, and the key to good service is care – we could definitely feel the tlc in the shop, and we will be back soon!

Still a wonderful place. Probably the best flan in London! Great dining courtyard in back.

Joseph is an excellent host. He’s proud of his fare, as he should be. I was pleased to have enjoyed the feeling I was a guest in his home. His pastry’s were delicious. I am happy to recommend this quaint homey café. Our meals were solidly enjoyable.

Fabulous spot for a coffee and cake. The homemade Apple strudel was delicious. Great and friendly service. A real local gem!

This place is a gem in Notting Hill… a great way to start your day with wonderful baked goods and more plus the added attraction of a terrifically warm and entertaining father and son behind the counter.

Great place for lunch!

A delightful spot for a light breakfast if you have a sunny morning on your hands. You’ll sit in the charming garden after having a lengthy conversation with the extremely talkative owner. He has a lot of confidence. Example: We asked for a breakfast menu and he boasted«I can make anything you want!» This turned out to not be strictly true but it was a charming experience nonetheless. It’s good for eggs, coffee, croissants, etc. The coffee actually tastes like coffee and not warm water(unusual for UK coffee). We were also pleased that it seemed like the place was full of neighborhood people, not tourists. We’ll be back.

Well, look who just caught up?! I had never noticed this place before, and I definitely walk past it multiple times a week. What can I say? I’m not so observant sometimes. It’s like walking in a Seinfeld episode. The adorable owner and his son take turns asking you how you are and what they can help you with today. They peddle their homemade goodies, and wow, there are a plethora. Salads, sandwiches, sweets. Plus, coffee. Really good coffee. And did I mention the awesome outdoor space? Yeah, it’s large and sunny. It’s definitely a good option for these last few Indian summer days.

This place is open six days a week from early in the morning till fairly late. But somehow it’s always Sunday when I walk down Chepstow Road, the only day it is shut … this is how I managed to miss out on this little gem for far too long — another proof that you should take a walk around your neighbourhood from time to time. I popped in on my lunch break yesterday. It was a beautiful sunny day and I didn’t feel like taking the bus. I was hungry but didn’t really know what I felt like eating. The choice in sandwich bars can be quite overwhelming and I almost admire people who know exactly how they like their sandwiches. I was relieved the woman in front of me took her time checking out the delicacies behind the glass. And even more relieved when the man behind the counter asked whether I was more in a meat or in a vegetarian mood. He soon recommended a most delicious veggie patty which came in a pitta bread with various salads and sauces. I had meant to order a quick snack for take away but couldn’t resist enjoying a more relaxed lunch in the lovely garden at the back. From my table I could watch the goings-on in the shop, with one guy preparing lamb burgers, the other serving customers — a gentle chatter which almost reminded me of sitting in a large farmhouse kitchen. … apparently this used to be one of Stella McCartney’s favourites, and Paul wrote a song about Haminados«My Secret Garden». A new find for me, but a well-kept secret for many. Long may it continue. I returned to work relaxed and revived.

Joseph, the charming owner of Haminados, makes a wonderful sausage roll. I know, sausage rolls are ubiquitous in England. But he makes his with kosher beef sausages and croissant-like puff pastry. They are flaky salty goodness, perfect for a light lunch, a snack, or a hangover. He also makes broccoli and mushroom pastries that are to die for when they come out of his oven. Though he would tell you he makes everything fresh, that’s not entirely true. I wouldn’t expect much from a bagel or plain croissant unless you see them come out of the oven yourself. But the«specialty» items are indeed special. And great coffee as well. Joseph is friendly to all and welcomes kids as well.

1st class service that is really eager to please. Food that seems genuinly home made and of 1st rate quality. A nice quiet and warm place to be, perfect for middle aged and older people with good place. It is not one of those very trendy places for very young trendies, it elegantly classic but certainly not out of touch. People with babies and young children can certainly feel comfortable there, although I did not look to see if there were any baby changing facilities. Not cheap but not a rip off and the prices are worth it. Great stuff, hope they keep it up !!
