Excellent overall rating — perfect — staff amazing before and during our stay in London. Found this on Expedia and a rate that was half that of their website! I also chose this place because it is outside the London Congestion Zone where they charge you daily for driving or staying in the central part of London. This is a Zone 3 location which made it easy to drive(self drive) here and park for FREE and avoid the daily congestion zone charge. Saved me $ 40 per day to park the rental car. If you don’t have a rental car, then choose a closer Zone 1 or 2 location but if you are planning to drive yourselves, choose this place! They have direct rail access to central London via the overground DLR rail system and connects to all Tube trains. Before I left, I made sure they have a disabled parking space available — they kind front office staff advised me that they would reserve a space just for me ! We arrived late but they still held the parking space for me and I was able to use my US issued disabled parking placard which is honored by the UK(Google: ECMT reciprocity). The front office staff was super nice when we arrived 4 hours late and looking very haggard… They even took the time to explain that the credit cards we use in the US different than European countries that utilizes a «chip and pin» system. So for us Americans, we can use our cards at all«manned» businesses which allow for swipe and signature. They directed us to their lounge and restaurant which made the trip so much relaxing! See my review of their restaurant…

Pretty good. Ridiculously unsignposted from DLR station, and rather unsmiling staff, but very professional. My room was very cool and comfortable after a long hot journey from Newcastle in the train, but I ate at Chez M&S as I do sometimes. I’d be the size of 2 houses if I ate hotel food all the time. I had breakfast which was really good, but I did avoid the dodgy looking strangled eggs :-) The rather mature(good sign) waiter topped up my coffee without request which was nice. I’d stay again if I was out this way, or if I was rich and going to the Olympics. There is a nice deck area over looking the massive docks.

Stayed one night in Sept. 4 Star hotel with all amenties, well sited for the EXCEL centre and London City airport, but getting here by tube/DLR from Kings Cross quite a challenge. nothing much else in the area, but hotel offered a good price and Staff/etc all good. taxi to Canary Wharf takes 15 minutes off peak for ten quid. plenty of action there at Plateau restaurant and the pub opposite, catering to the multitide of suits working in Canada Place and other.

Schönes 4 Sterne Hotel gegenüber dem City Airport. Sauber, ruhig. Frühstück hat kein 4 Sterne Niveau. Unweit von dem DLR. Ca. 30 min ist man in Liverpool Street. Für das Londoner Verhältnis sehr zu empfehlen.

Welcoming and clean hotel — very close to the ExCel centre and the Prince Regent DLR stop. The walk from the DLR takes about 5mins and goes across a couple of car parks — not too difficult even if you are with a wheelie case! Room was fine, toiletries supplied as well as an in room hairdryer. We had the full english breakfast on the Sunday which was fine — everything was presented well and the staff were very good too. I’d stay again but would bear in mind the time it takes to get to the Prince Regent stop from the centre of London — it’s a bit longer than we thought with a real route march through the Bank station to get to the DLR!
