Solid. Lots of locals when I visited. Food isn’t anything fancy but reasonable. I’m much happier to spend money here than at the food-court stuff at the ExCel.

This is the kind of place you want to succeed. I did not try the food, but the beer was excellent and the service friendly and attentive. Gorgeous building too. Definitely recommend this place if you are close to the excel centre. Also, it has more charm than its sister pub on the other side of the excel centre.

Great atmosphere for a British hotel/pub around since late 1800s. Food is above average. Check it out if you are at a convention near Excel center. Cheap compared to downtown London. Don’t waste your time thinking about the beer selection… Try them all! Walking distance to local hotels and convention hall as well as the DLR line. Cheers.

This pub does one of the best burgers I’ve tried in London. Their new beer selection is quite out of the ordinary for this part of town and it’s nice to be able to get something like a Leffe without schlepping to the wharf or into town. It gets really busy on a Friday evening when the hordes from Building 1000(Newham council mainly) descend. Big football matches draw a large crowd too.

Part of a small chain of east end pub/restaurants, Fox@Connaught was just what I wanted. I cold beer, a warm dinner and a bit of «scenery» to take in while I ate and drank. I enjoyed a draft beer while waiting for my burger and fries, then a second one to wash it down. The burger was decent and the chips were hot and crunchy. It’s located in the Docklands area and at lunchtime, I imagine it gets a decent crowd of local officeworkers. The same seems to happen in the evening, plus the patrons of the local hotels that might want something different. Good parking. Plenty of seats inside(unless the place is roped off for a private party), there are also tables outside with umbrella cover. Smoking is allowed out there. Free wi-fi worked well. No complaints about anything else, other than the TV’s in the place were tuned into an annoying PowerPoint slideshow advertising the Fox chain of four or five pubs in the area. If I was in this neighborhood, I’d absolutely be here regularly.
