Good beer selection(and vegetarian Sunday roast). The pub has the usual mismatched furniture for Antic pubs with a small snug type area to the right of the bar. Friendly staff. Upgrading my previous 4 to a 5 as the pub also does a great pub quiz and has a beautiful friendly cat.

We come here with our kids at lunchtime. Very baby/child friendly. The food is excellent! A real surprise for such a place. The chef is innovative but you shouldn’t be afraid to go off piste because the quality is top. My wife says the veggie burger is the best she’s ever had. Almost enough to turn her into a vegetarian she says. Oh and there are also a good range of real ales. If you’re in the area this is definitely worth a visit. But not too many of you please because this is a real hidden gem!

As both a frequenter and a fan of the Antic pubs, I was looking forward to introducing my new housemate to this pub’s rustic charm. We were happy enough on arrival, despite the smell of chlorine and sparsity of customers giving it a somewhat folorn feel. My spirits dampened slightly when I had to politely return an acidic glass of rjoka; they dampened even further when the barmaid, testing it, announced how she personally liked the«grapefruit» taste. She duly exchanged it however when her manager agreed it was off, and all was well. Until, that is, my friend discovered her mulled cider tasted less like a sweet concoction of winter spices and more like, well, ass. Feeling awkwardly British about complaining again, she tried to drink it but it was unpalatable. Returning it, the barman insisted that was what it was meant to be like, but that he didn’t like it either and thought it should have some sweetner in it(it had none). My spirits reached sodden level when the barmaid insisted she liked it that way, implying that it was my friend’s preference for a sweet mulled cider that was at fault. They didn’t seem at all apologetic and charged us to ‘exchange’ it for a glass of wine, despite the fact we’d spent over £20 on food already. So to sum: a kitsch pub with charming aesthetics and fairly decent food, whose warmth sadly isn’t matched by that of the staff.

There are only a handful of nice pubs in Lewisham but this is definitely one of them. They put on an excellent fireworks display for bonfire night and are currently offering excellent mulled wine and mince pies. The pub feels friendly; although there is a ‘regular’ crowd, they seem welcoming to new visitors and there is never a long wait for a drink while the bar staff serve their mates. Highlights include a table football, bar billiards and a dart board(they are part of the Hither Green darts league and claim to welcome players of all abilities). There is also a cat that wanders around, who will occasionally consent to being stroked. It can sometimes get a little crowded though. The only down side is the open mic comedy night, which didn’t really work for me(a lot of people seemed to enjoy it though)

Antic’s overhaul of the former Coach and Horses – formerly one of the toughest pubs in the area – as ‘The Ravensbourne Arms’ is nothing short of amazing. The staff are welcoming and extremely pleasant, the pub boasts a decent selection of real ales, and they host plenty of organised events. The food is also terrific, exceeding my expectations in all regards! Oh, and did I mention that they’ve got the best pub cat in London? We feel very, very lucky to have The Ravensbourne down the road from us! Keep up the good work!

Never had a steak quite like the one I had at this pub grey, charred yet absolutely no meat juices or blood(ordered rare) what did the Chef do to achieve this? Waitress wasn’t bothered when left most on plate and I mentioned either. Mushroom was black and could have easily soled a shoe! Oh and for reference, a Knickerbocker glory isnt a combination of mint and banana ice cream with a flake! suggest you google it guys! First time there and very debatable i’d go back for more food. Sorry!

Another great new(ish) local(ish) pub! Owned by the Antic crew, you kind of know what to expect. But this pub honestly has it all darts board, bar billiards, loads of space, squidgy sofas, a telly for the football and a great menu of pub grub that won’t break the bank. Yes, it’s a little rough around the edges, and the toilets could do with a spruce up, but you can’t help but relax and have fun in here. Have just removed a star for quite slow service one Sunday when we came here for a roast.

HAd yet another visit to the Ravensbourne yesterday. Went in last night with gf and had the best pork burger and duck salad we could have asked for. real ale festival as well, good choice and looks like prices have come down!!! Food prices good as ever and beer at less than £4, bring it on. the cured duck was exquisite and the pork burger was juicy and cooked to perfection. spoke to the chef last night and what an approachable guy. have read mixed reviews but can honestly say i have never had a problem. The chefs are available and eager to talk and tell you about the food. long may it continue

Good pub in an area that’s needed one for a long time. Friendly staff, menu looks good although haven’t eaten there yet and prices are reasonable.

When a friend asked me to meet her at Ravenbourne Arms for birthday drinks, I wasn’t to thrilled to be trotting all the way out to Lewisham. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find a really decent pub! They have an admirable selection of drinks(which included wine served in baby carafes), a large flat screen TV hanging on the wall, which was showing the Snowman and they serve the best chunky wedges I have had in a long time. Although a little out of the way, I rather liked it. I’m not sure if they have wifi, but the pub is big and has an airy feel that make the space conducive to work in. It also has huge old school country kitchen style tables, that would lend themselves perfectly if you needed to spread out lots of books, journals or newspapers. I’m looking forward to returning for more chunky wedges, mmmmm!

I’m not usually a great pub goer and was reluctantly roped into going to the refurbished Ravensbourne Arms and thank goodness I was! It’s a lovely pub lots of reconditioned old furniture, books lining the windowsills I can imagine it’s a great place if you’re on your own and fancy a quiet drink. I was lucky enough to eat there and the food is fabulous they have a range of generous bar snacks I had a scotch egg which was MASSIVE and delicious. The full menu is just as great good options, not too expensive, great portion sizes and the burgers looked amazing. You can even park down the side road for free in the evening or get any bus going towards Lewisham and jump off just past the hospital. A real gem of a pub! And again, this is from someone who doesn’t normally like em!

It smells like the guardian and olives and they have aspall on tap. You can take that as a good or bad thing in lewisham. Worried my rent might go up with all this who ha Henry vibe their inviting.
