Revival Records is a good spot to search for dance music. It has similar selection to those at the Exchanges. It’s reasonably priced, but most of us collectors are looking to dig and pay less. With that said, I think Revival is slightly below the Exchanges because their records were in questionable condition even though they’re all located behind the counter with no turntables in the store itself: sketchy…

If HMV is too populist for you, Revival is the complete antithesis and cure for you. Of course, you’ll need to be old enough to remember vinyl to recognise what those funny round things are! They also deal in CDs and DVDs. They have a huge range from 50s rock and roll to modern drum and bass but probably leaning more towards jazz and reggae. They offer good prices for your second hand vinyl, CDs and DVDs. Worth a browse as you wander down Berwick Street.

Jazz is not dead. It is alive and kicking at Revival Records. Thelonious Monk and Sun Ra are regularly resurrected in the record annals of this shop. Even obscure jazz musicians, from the bebop to the hard bop era, ragtime to swing, can be found here. They have an excellent selection of music from the good old days to the present, so if you’re a fan of digging through records and coming up with gold this is the place for you.

Rising from the ashes of Sister Ray records, Revival is one of those unique record shops that constantly surprise you with what it has in stock. Dealing with second hand records, you’re always likely to find a hidden gem that time forgot. Prices are much more reasonable than its competitors within the area and the staff are friendly. Plenty of genres are covered within this small space and whatever music you are into, you are bound to find something. Well worth a visit if you have a good hour spare, and are prepared to wade through some rubbish to find that one piece that’ll make your week.
