My boyfriend and I stopped here for our anniversary. We left feeling well taken care of :) Food — we got the premium tasting menu and it was delicious. The starter of yellow tail sashimi and truffle oil was super delicious. The truffle oil was subtle but very tasty. I ended up using some on my ginger that came with the sashimi platter and it was very different but so good. Another hit was the seafood dumplings. Very crispy on the skins and moist on the inside. They flavored it well so it tasted like it was pork/beef but the texture was of fish. The seafood was exceptionally good tonight as we went on to the Chilean sea bass over rice. The skin was extra crispy as they panfried it while they kept the inside well cooked. The dessert at the end was such a good way to end it. So many different fruits, 3 sherbets, a rocky road kind of ice cream and a short cake. Service was fair. The server was nice and they were attentive as well as on time for plate removal. The coat check in the front was a plus too!

The food was very good, the service was nice , the location was nice and quiet. It is classy and the food was satisfying to all ends. It was a nice because it was out first time trying Japanese food. We were surprised because even though we ordered a lot of food the price was decent.

Hungry, tired and annoyed at the scene on Oxford, I took a turn on to North Audley and came across Roka. Mario, the super charismatic Italian bartender, greeted me with a huge smile. After 2 glasses of delicious Seresin«Tatou» Savignon Blanc and the Tuna Tataki app, Mario gave me a taste of an Espresso Martini. Best I’ve ever had. I will make Roka a destination next time I am in London

excellent food, excellent service. not cheap, but that’s Mayfair for you. Roka has same owners as Zuma, hence the standards are kept as they should be. Sushi is fantastic. Fish is of amazing quality. Décor is simple and pretty bright lights. Its a nice place and usually vibrant atmosphere.

Tried it and although the place was nicely decorated, the crowd very stylish and rich and the food decent… I didn’t like it. This place lacks of coziness and the same dishes can be found at few other trendy spots in London. I wasn’t impressed or delighted during my time there neither were the wait staff.

We had a lovely time. Situated in central London. Close to Main Street Oxford street off of Selfridges but away from the rifraf. Great food, beautiful ambiance and fantastic service !!

Everything about this place is super splendid: 1. Yes you pay a shiny penny — but you get an amazing food value for it(I’m talking about the brunches) between the unlimited drinks and starters 2. The décor is modern and clean. and plenty of room 3. The sushi is the best I ever had in the UK The only reason why this gets 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the crowd. Lots of rather pushy people and ridiculous amounts of happy birthday songs. It kind of ruined the atmosphere for me.

It seems that this place is quite popular cuz my friend who booked the table only get one for 6pm and anything later is fully booked. This place is close to Selfridges and Bond Street. The restaurant is quite big and it is nicely decorated. Sushi and sashimi are okay. And they are tiny as well. There isn’t much to say cuz I just think they are normal and the salmon are not very fresh I think. Rice hot pot and tofu were really delicious. Grilled vegetables we ordered were nice as well. However we ordered grilled chicken as well and it was overcooked with a lot of burn. It was more than 200 pounds for three of us including drink and I just think it doesn’t worse it. The food was just normal.

We’re big fans of ROKA Soho and was excited that one opened in Mayfair. We were in the mood for Japanese and decided to try our luck without a reservation at ROKA Mayfair on a Friday night. Food: We ordered the black cod dumplings, crispy prawn maki, eggplant salad, rock shrimp tempura, soft-shell crab maki, yakitori, baby chicken and the chicken wings. Everything, but the maki rolls were delicious! The maki rolls were just ok. Looking back I would’ve ordered two other cooked dishes instead. Drinks: We ordered the Ume Shu(plum) and the Twinkle cocktail. Price: 109.39GBP for two people. Ambiance: ROKA does a great job creating a busy fun restaurant feel, but keeps it feeling classy. Service: The hostess was very friendly and told us that she would be able to seat us in 30 – 45 minutes without a reservation. We waited at the bar where the bartender was very nice and attentive. When we did get seated our server was very friendly as well. Would I go back? Definitely. The service is great, the ambiance is classy and the food is delicious.

Wow! The food at Roka is nothing over the top but amazingly fresh & tasty. Order from al carte so you get to try dishes to your taste and not offered on the tasting menu(works out cheaper too!). The ones we tried that got thumps up around the table were: deep fried Aubergine, tuna tartare w/caviar and rock shrimp & banana puffs for dessert. Definitely a place fit for Mayfair and exceptional service!

Having been back to london town for a short while again, this was one of the hot new sushi places that popped up that I hadn’t tried. Set one of london’s expensive areas– Mayfair– you already know it’s going to be pricey. The real question is whether or not this place would stand up to its reputation. I usually hate to include service in my reviews, because in my books good food always trumps service. But this place was not up to standard. It was annoying that in this kind of ‘up-scale’ restaurant the waiters were bringing us food that we hadn’t ordered, not once but several times. To add to that even though it was not crowded when I was there there was slow service. I had to mention it because it simply wasn’t good enough for the kind of restaurant Roka is trying to compete with. Now for the important bit– the food. Overall their appetisers were good, but nothing special. Their miso soup was average. The actual sushi was fresh… Very very fresh. It was the freshness of all the ingredients that made it good. I can’t really describe that feeling when you take that bite of sushi and the combination tastes is just right, there aren’t a lot of place that can do that. This place is known for its«fireside Japanese cooking» and so we had to order so grilled dishes. The steak dish was good but the chicken — although good– was something I feel I could’ve cooked at home. Overall I think the commotion was over its location, nice interiors, and as you’ll see in the photos — nice presentation. Overall this place might be just looks. I would give it a 3.5 because it was lacking in most of the departments except for the sushi.

The Mayfair is conveniently located being only a few minutes walk from Bond Street tube station and it is close to Selfridges, making it an excellent location to be situated. I was there on a weekday and it was buzzing with people. We were seated at a table located at the back of the restaurant, which made it a bit more private and quiet to enjoy an evening with my friends We ordered a selection of dishes to share but the portion are small. I would not recommend to go to Roka if you really hungry because this place can really hurt your piggy bank! Roka is suppose to be special for serving contempoary Japanese robatayaki, so we ordered some dishes under the robata section of the menu. We ordered one portion each — chicken skewers(£8.90) and beef skewers(£15) and for the price we only got two skewers in a portion. There are also non-skewers dishes under the Robata section of the menu and we tried the black cod. It was a nice piece of fish but an expensive piece of fish. There are selections of tempura and fried dishes. We decided we need some vegetable and ordered the tempura vegetable. I did like the gyoza and we ordered both variety that was on the menu. — Gyuniku to goma no gyoza(£7.30) — filled with beef, ginger and sesame dumplings — Gindara to kani no gyoza(£12.90) — filled with black cod, crab and crayfish dumplings As well as ordering a variety of hot dishes, we tried some of the sushi at Roka. We had two plates of sushi with a mix of maki rolls and nigiri. I thought it was nice quality sushi but the size of the nirigi seem to be smaller than what you might get at most Japanaese restaurant. We also ordered the Kani no Kamameshi– rice hot pot with crab and wasabi tobiko. The texture reminded me of congee which is a name for Chinese congee. The portion of the hot pot is not big and probably enough for one or two people. We shared it between eight person as a taster portion and gave us about one or two tablespoons each. Mine and every ones favourite dish had to be the dessert platter. It was actually the one dish I wanted to have in the reason to visit Roka. Variety of dessert served on a boat which made it the best looking dessert I have seen so far, and the most expensive dessert I have had. Roka does serves tasty food but it is expensive. I would only recommend to go over there is you do have the cash to splash, there is any offers(let me know if there is!) or for a special occasion(like me!).

This place was recommended by a friend Rizza the king. When you first walk in you notice a sleek, sexy high price hooker type of environment. Very NYC living in London. Luckily for me I’m a baller. The great you with a warm towel which is always nice. The spicy edamame was great(kinda tasted like they just put siracha on it). Food was ok, I’ve had cheaper places with better food in LA after a night of drinks, a series of stolen cars and memories. Do not come here stoned unless you want to really spend money. The main attraction is the woman. I’ve also never seen so many hot chicks with mediocre dudes. I guess money can buy happiness. I feel like this is a place someone could be stuntin’ at without really spending the real dough. Yes guys we can have our cake and eat it too. So the food is not bad, but not memorable. I had chicken skewers that tasted like I could have got them at a local bar(so they were aight). You come here for the vibe, sense of the wealth and the eye candy is mm mmm delicious. Dress kinda nicer, bring some class and get that ass.
