Yo! has some of the most souped up sushi rolls I’ve ever seen. Some where way over the top, but others were unique combinations that satiated my grumbling stomach after a morning of shopping. The space is a bit tight, but it’s great for people watching and chugging a beer. I think the tightness of the space is a bit of the charm while eating some mysterious rolls. The selection is very huge, though many of the plates represented on the mat never came by. Still, there was enough here for those who are food adventurous. The spot is pretty efficient, and you can quickly pay without too much stress.

It’s a conveyer style eating establishment. We decided to try this out since we never see places like this. The food is cheap and clean. You basically run the show and pick what you want. Only thing is that you can easily keep taking the food without realizing that you’re over 50£. It’s something fun to try out.

I guess I had a better experience than most people here. My only two complaints were that they really should wipe the counters down and sweep/mop the floor. But this place is insanely busy. As far as the food goes, yes, there were many things that just never seemed to go around the belt, so I asked for them! The sushi and sashimi were incredibly fresh, and quite honestly, for the price, probably the best sushi I have ever had! Yes, they are a tad smaller, but the quality was superb. I’m normally not that much of a salmon sushi lover, but I had 3 portions! Also, the tuna sashimi was just excellent. First time and not my last at this chain. I found the staff very polite and anytime I looked up they were there asking me if I needed anything.

Gack! The selection of fish is as expansive as my knowledge of 18th century public urinals. My meal consisted of salmon, rice, and miso soup. Everything else on the menu seemed awful and the selection on the conveyor belt wasn’t inspiring too much confidence. The staff kept reshuffling the plates on the conveyor belt as if they could trick people into eating the food?!? Go here if you are starving and are too tired to research where else to eat.

It’s not the best sushi I’ve had buts its just fine. Service is great and the selection is huge. The conveyor belt is fun and if you want to order hot dishes just ask and it’s done in a minute or two. I like Yo Sushi it’s a good value.

Conveyor belt place. Very Japanese. The food was average, but I totally understand why Yo! sushi is popular. It is cheap, convenient, clean and the service is good. You can go there and nibble and just sit a while. Or you can be in and out in 15 minutes — your choice. This place is all about choice. You run the show here. The food is okay. My miso soup and tea were reliable. The rolls were bad because the rice and the seaweed were stale. I also had a fruit plate which was pretty fresh. Overall it is a fast food place — you wouldn’t do it everyday, but sometimes it is necessary.

Oh my, a sushi restaurant that has actually run out of fish! Well sort of. They didn’t have much of anything by the time we arrived for dinner, no salmon and they were missing other things like chicken for katsu curry goodness. Disorganised chaos, and pretty unpleasant to sit near the open kitchen where you can see the stress and production line mentality the staff work under. They wanted to be there even less than me. Also hard to get served and only seemed to be one person going around to take your order(or apologise for the lack of it). I know this is part of a department store food court but you are paying restaurant prices so I would expect better. The chilli haddock, and noodle soup was palatable and filling, and saves Yo! Selfridges from getting only one star.

There are some decent YO! Sushi restaurants around… this seems to consistently be the worst. The range of dishes that lap around on the conveyor belt seem to be very limited and apparently, a large number of the ‘order-able’ dishes are not available at the Selfish-es branch. The actually quality was poorly made by people who seemed not to be trained nor care. There is always a queue even though there are plenty of empty tables. I feel that this is due to bad staffing really… The tables are not cleared in time, the staff are somnambulant and treat you as an imposition. There was a girl on the payment desk that was friendly enough, but she just did not seem to be processing the payment quickly enough, causing an extra queue at the exit. In unrelated news… I like Sake. Maybe some Sake would have helped me not realise that I was having a poor dining experience. Either that or I sniff some glue in the Selfridges watch department before I go to YO! next time. Answers on a postcard please!

FOOD: overpriced, not very good. the idea of a conveyor belt is just not very appealing. you never know how long the sushi has been there. we spent so much money here and left dissatisfied and a little robbed. SERVICE: not really much service needed because you just help yourself to the belt. AMBIANCE: a little cold. we prefer more authentic japanese restaurants and it just seems like this place is trying to keep up with contemporary trends.

It’s the novelty of the conveyor belt. The pricing system is also very easy(and dangerous). The quality wasn’t as high as I like but then it’s a trade off for the quirky and convenient.

The sushi comes out from a conveyor belt! Don’t come for the sushi, come from the novelty.

I think I have been spoilt living near some great Sushi places in San Francisco, so when I ate here I wasn’t too impressed. Granted it is super convenient and I love the easy pricing system(which can dangerously add up). But the quality was not great and was VERY expensive compared to a high end place in the US. Could get the same kind of rolls from M&S to be honest.

Maybe it’s just the novelty of the conveyor belt, but Yo Sushi makes me happy every time I see the brightly colored plates going around and around. I might just be impressed because I had never seen anything like it before visiting London. This is a great spot for an easy lunch. I usually have trouble deciding what to grab off the belt, but there is a menu that describes everything you see and also describes the additional dishes that can be ordered. The sushi isn’t the best I’ve ever had, but it’s good enough to keep me coming back when I find myself in Selfridges. Maybe I just like sitting at the counter with my own personal faucet for water(sparkling or still) and letting the colored plates mesmerize me as they pass by. I’m easy to please, like a baby and wrapping paper– Oh, shiny.

Good to go for a quick bite, as it’s not a place I would hang around for a nice long meal. I have had better sushi elsewhere, and there is something almost factory like having to pick your food off a conveyor belt. Nevertheless, it’s quick and easy to dine here, and you get to see most of the dishes before choosing what you want to eat. Their Tempura prawns are good, as is their udon noodle soup(which you need to order on the side as this served on the moving belt).
