The underwear in here is seriously H.O.T.T! Even the stuff for the preggers ladies is bloomin’ marvellous. I popped in here on V Day, and had a browse as I’d always walked past but as it’s sutch a small shop felt a little intimidated.
The problem is that there are too many staff (3 at the time) in a really tiny space so you feel a little bit pressured. The stuff they sell is all nice brands; I looked at a gorgeous Ell Macpherson set which came to £52. As you can see it’s not cheap, but you get what you pay for when it comes to undies — and there is nothing quite like a £24 pair of Knick-​knicks. Okay I didn’t buy them but I know they do a large selection of sizes and generally it a pretty good undies shop.

Rosa is the tiniest little shop ever, yet it’s packed to the rafters with knickers and bras!
I’ve only been brave enough to venture in when friends have been visiting who’ve dragged me in after being tempted by the window display.
When I have managed to get past the front door, browsing has been interesting. Last time I was in, I noted with interest that they were selling a range of underwear made from bamboo!!!
It was surprisingly soft and apparently much more environmentally friendly than cotton (which uses loads of pesticides etc) and other materials. I’m assured it’s breathable too, so very nice to wear. It got me thinking anyway!

The woman who works in Rosa (perhaps it was Rosa herself) is charming, friendly and quite possibly a magician. Even through a jumper and a badly fitting bra from H&M she guessed my size and then, as a formality measured me up to check afterwards. According to her, after years of experience she is very rarely wrong. I find this to be rather impressive, magical even.
They stock a wide variety of lingerie, my favourite being the Elle Macpherson range. They also do very pretty maternity bras, which is perfect for all the pregnant people in Stoke Newington. Shopping there is a luxury I can only afford on special occasions, but like all good lingerie shops it’s intimate, professional and a much more pleasurable experience than being poked around by M&S matron types.
