Perrier Jouet is the best champagne I have ever tried. A joy of the mouth and the perfect treat for a business meeting or a date(very important one considering the prices of it). This is an amazing location, the meat is over the top a London restaurant and the ingrate intent around the restaurant is very intriguing.

Great ambiance overlooking the canal. Decent cocktails. Needs a better array of local beers.

Very nice staff and food/wine, quiet music, good and fast service. Lamb roast was delicious. Will visit again.

Although the décor personally turns me off the focus is directed towards the canal — which is an improvement. The steak I had was chewy and course so I’d advise avoiding the food here. Summers are nice– offering terrace dining and an outdoor gin bar. If you go for a drink outside it isn’t half bad.

The idea if this place is what has always drawn me to come… A view over the canal, close to home, nice atmosphere. I’m pretty sure I have been inside before after a concert but never actually bought anything, until today. £10.95 for a large white wine spritzer is insane! The barman was pleasant but rushed. We sat outside which again was nice but there seemed to be an odd sense from the waiting staff. Firstly they hadn’t cleared/cleaned any spare tables well. Secondly, any thought from a punter that they might want to eat was considered ridiculous and then rethought and quickly changed. Especially of people wanted to eat outside! There was no sign that tables were reserved but when a waiter was asked the reaction was greeted with exasperation! We decided not to eat as the prices looked incredible too so off to Tesco we go but a sad experience in something that expresses the possibility of more! Xyz

Okay, I really wish I could give this place a higher rating. I met here with Alex S.(community manager) for a Sunday Roast, my first since arriving in the country six months ago. Sacrilege, I know. Anyway, at Alex’s recommendation, we came here to have a nice roast. I arrived on time, but it was actually late because Alex had been there an hour early, so anyway, we finally sat down and started chatting and that was cool, but no server came to check in. When we finally flagged one, and ordered, it took a while for the food to arrive. Again it was a while before our plates were cleared and then again we waited to order dessert. And we waited for the bill. Sense a theme here? I’m not sure why the service was absent, because there were certainly enough servers and the place wasn’t packed. But, it was a bit of a disappointment to feel like I might née to raise my hand to catch their attention, especially as other tables seemed to have servers checking on them frequently. The food itself was lovely, gourmet for a roast. I had a delicious soup, and the roast chicken. Dessert was decadent, and though I wasn’t able to finish any of my courses, I was fully stuffed by the end of the meal, and definitely had enough. There was a price deal that we were able to use, so I can’t comment fairly on the prices on the menu. It seemed quite high end for a Sunday roast though. Then again, you’re in a nicer restaurant than a pub setting, and have a lovely view of Regent’s Canal. So that’s certainly part of the price. All in all, it would be a lovely place if the service stepped up a bit. The food is definitely worth it, but you’ve got to not mind waiting if you decide to have a meal here.

Have only been here a few times when visiting a friend who works in the building. Cocktails are decent and on a warm night they have outdoor seating by the canal. And a couple of times we were here they had happy hour on the go on select cocktails. Not sure I would go out of my way to go here but for the area, it’s great. Can’t comment on the food as have never eaten here.

Very nice for drinks, don’t bother with the food, or expecting any type of decent service. I am granting 3 stars largely based on its location on the edge of the canal basin, which is fantastic during the Summer. I’ve been here about 15 times over the past year, mostly because I worked in Kings Place and therefore it was convenient to meet people after work. I really wanted to rate it better but it never quite improved. Decent wine list, not so good on ales or bitters, food is good but is usually a hassle to sort(ordering, getting, and paying for). Visually, I like the minimalist modern décor. They must be relying on the business of captive audience patrons visiting Kings Place, but they’ll have to do better once the Kings Cross re-development comes to life and they have more competition.

What can I say, this is my first one star review. My partner and myself walked past this place a couple of weeks before we went and said to each other that looks like a really nice place. It’s true it dose look like a really nice place and when you walk in you think wow. A very nice location overlooking the cannel and to be honest the food was amazing. Five stars to the chefs, but that’s where the pleasantries end. When we walked in not a single staff member greeted us and we stood waiting for some time. After a staff member had seen us waiting we asked for a table for two and after some time we were seated. We were offered water and then our menus were brought to us. Our order was taken and our meals came out very quickly. At no point during the meal were we approached to ask if we were happy with our meals, or even asked if we would like a drink, after we had finished our meals it took them almost 15 minutes to clear our table and we still weren’t asked how our meals were or even asked if we would like to see the dessert menu. We did feel like dessert and a coffee after our meal but by the time someone came over with dessert menus we were well and truly over the customer service and just wanted to leave. The staff member who took my payment just stood there in silence as the transaction cleared then handed me the receipt and walked away. Never in a dinning experience have a ever been made to feel so uncomfortable, it really did feel like they didn’t want us there. The lack in customer service was such a disappointment because the two of us both really enjoyed our meals. I would recommended giving this place a miss.

On the positive the restaurant has a great location on the canal waterfront. And is handy for a pre-concert dinner. But sadly dispite the promises made on the menu the food failed to deliver. My linguini large plate at £14 looked like a starter. I had to enquire if they’d brought me the right size. My partners chicken salad was dull, with the chicken resembling leftovers and the salad from a packet. Our friends burger was fine as was the service In summary, the food dissapoints at this price range. Wouldn’t rush back.

Yup, the setting is really nice. You get a view over the canal, and the fact that it is handy for Kings Place is good. The food is ok– not brill for the price which is slightly above average. The waitress we had was slightly rude, although other staff seemed friendly. Food was slow for a restaurant which caters to concert goers.

Good menu, but food really only so-so and service friendly but quite slow.

This place is moderately smart. Seven of us went for a family brunch today, and it didn’t go too well. The waitress said she wasn’t sure if they could do toast, even though it was on the menu. I asked for camomile tea and got something called camomile-citron. My niece said it tasted like bathroom cleaner.(How would she know?) They didn’t do ordinary camomile. The place was empty but our food took 40 minutes. When it arrived it was cold. We spoke to the manager, and she was very apologetic and did all she could to put things right, but it was too late by then. The gloss had gone.

Has a restaurant section as well as the bar. Food is a bit more pricey than some other places in the area(mains £15−30, starters around £10, bottles of wine start at about £18 and go up to scary numbers) but I’ve been twice and both times everyone has been very impressed with what they had. Lovely location next to the canal, would be a great place to sit outside if you manage to go when it’s not raining and windy.

New developement on the site of the, now demolished, Waterside Inn. Incorporates a concert hall, conference and events centre. But enough of the PR. The bar is called The Retunda, it is right up against Battlebridge Basin. Very stylish inside with wide windows to view the canal. No real ale. Has disabled toilets. Only down side I can see, is that it is right next to the canal and there are no railings, so, as you can sit outside, it could be dangerous. The patio area is open to all who use the building, so children will have to be watched carefully. Price of a Guinness, £3.30. Update, has Bombadier but not on hand pump. The patio area is no smoking.
