Well, Ruskin Park, The day was warm and crowds had gathered early around the banstand awaiting for the musicians to arrive, the ducks were making a fuss of somebodys dog around the pond, the last bowls game was coming to an end and the sound of light clapping could be heard accross the green, the grapes growing along the pagolas looked lush and untouched, the band started to play some glen miller tunes, and before long a few couple’s braved the tarmac to dance, we strolled on up to the house Façade, the pillars glinting in places in the dapple light, it was here that Mendolsohn wrote the spring song, and Jim proposed to Kathie that September evening in 1959, next year we celebrate our 50th, Thankyou Ruskin Park.

This park used to be my local one when I was a student and now that my brother lives nearby I’ve had another chance to go back. The space is suprisingly large and you can’t really tell this from the exterior. It’s great for walking the dog or going for a jog but I enjoy going their most to check out the squirrels. There are tons of them and they are friendly although I don’t encourage you to feed them. There’s also a dog free playground for the kiddies.
