Having rotisserie chicken at 5:30pm on a Saturday afternoon is completely acceptable and jolly good form!

If there’s one thing you can guarantee about this Sainsburys Local, it’s that it’ll always have a big queue when you’re there. I live nearby and whether you’re there on a Tuesday afternoon, Sunday morning or Friday evening, the queue will put most off buying whatever they need. Watching people walk in, pick up one or two items, see the queue and walk right back out is a regularity. Sainsburys Local offer higher prices for their products than the larger store counterparts due to their locations, and considering there are a number of supermarkets in the area, the one-door-down-from-the-tube-station syndrome seems to be what keeps this place popular. The store was renovated only a few months ago, but already the queuing system has gone to pot with the queues snaking around the store and the next counter announcer broken for weeks now. They do seem to have more than their fair share of trouble with drunks here also, as it’s on a number of occasions that I’ve seen the security guard have to step in when a customer gets aggressive. All in all, the convenience is the only thing it’s got going for it!
