Absolutely lovely and patient bar tender who waited for our indecisive asses on a Sunday afternoon. Cocktail menu is interesting and detailed, all board game and video game themed. Complete nerd/geek paradise. Has a good mix of fun place to bring groups along with intimate environment to go on a more nerdy date. I had so much fun here playing SNES with my boyfriend on a Sunday afternoon. Too bad it’s so fed far from a station. I’ll definitely be dragging friends here in the future.

I can never remember having a bad time in there and I feel like this place is — for the main part — a very safe space. Although there are toilets upstairs with nice big cubicles, the upstairs can get quite crowded and most of the consoles are downstairs. Not too sure how accessible the place is for those with physical disabilities, unfortunately. The range of cocktails is wonderfully named, experimental and mostly very nice. Not all of them hit my personal spot, but you have to give props for a cocktail that makes use of strawberry jam as one of its ingredients [Had on the night Assassins Creed Syndicate was released]! I don’t think they do it any more, but Kicked to the Kirby is delicious. They have a huge variety of board, card and video games and a couple of arcade machines. They host a wide variety of events and sometimes — if you’re lucky! — you can stroke the adorable white cat that comes strolling in of a whim. Whether it’s a quiet place to relax and chat or a more rowdy affair you want, this is a haven for those with nerdy, geeky tastes… and their non-nerdy and/or non-geeky taggers-along! I’ve watched Eurovision 2015 here for a mate’s birthday, played Cards Against Humanity in its Soho incarnation while drinking cocktails and eating macarons one NYE, attended a quiz night and a forum for developers who were women… and that’s the start of it! Cannot recommend enough!

Yes, I am giving these guys 5 stars after only being here for one night, but I stand by my decision! Celebrated my sister’s bday with a bunch of people the other night and made use of many games. All the games we played(they have a big variety) had all the pieces and were well maintained. Lots of space downstairs to play if you want less of a bar vibe and better lighting to see your game. I’m only in town for one more week, but if I lived here, I’d be here alllll the time. They also have really tasty video game themed cocktails! Amazing.

Loading at Scenario is quite simply the best place to go, any day. They are usually open on Sundays despite what Unilocal says, with events on most nights. I mostly come here for the board games as the consoles get booked out or taken up fairly early on, but if you are willing to wait, or talk to mew people everyone is pretty friendly and willing to let you join in. The drinks are amazing, all cocktails are gaming themed with some amazing artwork on the old menus. Table-top Tuesday will always see me and my friends trying to win the game of the week, Thirdsday(marioke) every third thursday of the month will have you running from the bar to avoid my singing, but wednesdays for poker night is also worth dropping in for. Apparently there are djs and live music events too, but its all about the games. It has been known for parents to bring their kids at the weekend for a party. Not a bad place to entertain kids, but the bar is wasted on them. I can’t recommend this place enough. Also if you see me there let me know and I’ll probably spot you a drink!

Game on! Scenario — Loading Bar is a video game and board game bar in Stoke Newington, an area that is quickly becoming as weird as it is wild. And since it’s my homebase(aka, my neighbourhood), I love it. And I do love this space, filled with games from all different eras. When my friend wanted to play Street Fighter 2, we found it waiting for us. And when I wanted to play the new Super Smash Bros., it was there on their giant screen on the first floor. It’s mood lit with tons of tables on two floors and comfortable couches. No matter if you want to play with one other person or ten, you can find a space. They have a hilariously named cocktail menu clearly created just for them, with drinks like Earthworm Gin and Last Call of Duty: Advanced Barfare. However, the drinks themselves are sadly only OK. I haven’t found one yet I truly truly would come back for and usually just stick to beer and cider(they are so amazingly named though.) They don’t do food, but they will allow you to bring in food from elsewhere. Stokeybears is about a ten minute walk down the road, and there may be no better combo than amazing burgers and video games. Soooo happy am I. Just be warned, it can be a little intense. We’ve walked in during late nights and different tournaments and it’s pretty much chaos incarnate. Not that that’s a bad thing, mind you, it’s good for a bar to have some energy. But if you’re looking for a relaxing evening, sometimes this is not the place. But other times, as I’ve mentioned, this is totally the place. It is geek heaven, nerd central, and if that sounds like your cup of battle tea, then you need to check this place out. I really love this bar, like really, really love it, and am glad it is here.

I’m not really a gamer but this bar is pretty sweet. Well situated in the heart of Stoke Newington, it’s a bar that has loads of different games inside. No cover charge or anything — you just walk in and play games! They’ve got board games, video games, and fast wifi for computer games as well. It’s two floors — the first floor had a Nintendo Wii on a big projector, an arcade game, and lots and lots of board games. Downstairs, they had loads of different types of consoles setup with TVs to play more games. Prices for game-inspired cocktails were £8 — friendly service and a great vibe. Definitely will come here again when I’m in the area.

Scenario, previously known as Loading Bar, is a fantastic space. It’s a pub, serving a few nice craft beers, as well as an enormous menu of videogame-themed cocktails. There are a TON of boardgames all over the place to play, along with some decent sized tables to fit. If that wasn’t enough, there is also an enormous downstairs space with PS4, Xbox One, Wii U, SNES and some arcade cabinets where you can play a massive range of games(or bring your own). This place is great.

Nice little bar, i got to know it because it’s a place that hosts indie game developers meetups. They have an ample selections of beers, ciders and cocktails, but I’m not sure they make food.
