A place that we happened to just walk by and figured was worth a try — and it very much was! Sedir is a relatively inexpensive and tasty choice for a casual bite… the menu has a huge selection to choose from, though I might recommend one of their platters(I chose the«Healthy Plate») as a way to sample 9 – 12 mezze for under 10GBP. In terms of appetizers, the Halloumi was top-notch — in at least two preparations: I had mine grilled with a fresh salad, and my wife’s came deliciously sauteed with tomatoes and greens. The service was quick and friendly; we came in with large shoppings bags that were taken, stored and returned with no fuss. In short, I would add Sedir to the Islington Turkish repetoire… it stacks up vs. the competition at an attractive price point.

Had a lovely lunch today. Two courses, £7.95. Taramasalata with a loaf of fresh turkish bread filled me up. Superb. Then a hearty uand healthy grilled chicken salad. Loved the chillie sauce which was served silver-service style. Gentle music. 10⁄10 for ambience.

We went in here because it was freezing cold and snowy outside and we were looking for somewhere to eat that looked warm and at least half ok. So not really knowing what to expect we were greeted in a friendly manner and given a table(next to the radiator — when we mentioned the cold!). The food was really very good, standard Turkish Meze and Meat dishes. We had the mixed meze starter which all tasted very fresh, the Houmous was especially good. For a main I had what can only be described as a Turkish Mixed Grill. Awesome! I’d definitely recommend this place and will go back when I’m in the the area and looking for a reasonably priced meal with friendly service.

Tasty Turkish food in portions satisfactory for the hungriest primate. A little expensive. Nothing really worth drinking behind the bar so this gibbon’s visit was fairly dry, although lively thanks to a gaggle of teenage girls relentlessly photographing each other on a big table nearby…

Been coming here as regulars at least once a month for the last 10 years or so!!! Keep coming back because it is great quality turkish food and superb, friendly, unhassled service — love the mititi kofte & king prawns starters, for main, mengen special is great, and they do a perfect mixed grill!

Tasty, cheap, Turkish food. I’d definitely go back, but the most important factor was the outdoor seating to enable some hardcore people-watching; admittedly this seating was literally on the sidewalk(which was quite narrow), but who cares? We got a bunch of appetizers, which were generically Mediterranean but presumably in a Turkish style, and some Turkish chicken. All of it was delicious!

Had dinner here on a Saturday night since they had a table outside for four and it was a nice evening. Mezes to start: falafel with hummus, dolma and a grilled eggplant dish — all tasty but not spectacular. Some pretty standard sesame-sprinkled bread accompanied the starters. Then for mains, we chose an eggplant dish, swordfish & prawns, swordfish steak, and mixed kebab(grilled chicken, lamb kofta, lamb chops and plain lamb). Everyone seemed to enjoy their food though apparently the prawns were a bit disappointing in size/amount. House red was drinkable. Wouldn’t go out of my way to eat there again, but if we were in the neighborhood and felt like Turkish food and wanted to eat outside, I’d consider it.

One of the few restaurants that remained open late(~23:00) during Spring Bank Holiday. My friends and I managed to get a quick dinner there. Interesting décor(a mixture of Turkish relics and paintings of nude women…). I had a chicken cutlet, which was cooked nicely with spices. My other friends got lamb, and they said it was good. Prices were fair too for what we got. Not a bad place to dine around the Islington area.

Great service and really good food. 2 courses and wine comes to about £25 a head. Portions are generous. Good atmosphere not too loud and well laid out.
