My sister and I are huge ceviche fans. When we heard about this place we just had to go. On our first visit they were closing for a staff party and my heart sunk. The next time I was in London the stars all lined up and we were able to go with my dad. So worth the wait. The food was incredible, so fresh and layered so well. Every bite was well planned and perfectly balanced. The waiter recommend some dishes and was a good chat. He knew all the history and understood the ingredients as well. The atmosphere is just loads of fun; relaxed with a sense of excitement in the air with the music and the smell of the food. We grabbed some cocktails that were also delicious and ate through 5 or 6 dishes between the 3 of us. Everything that was recommended was incredible. I can’t wait to head back and I wish I was back in London all the time because I would practically live here.

Maybe it’s the American in me but the service is not that great. I saw one couple refuse to pay the derive charge because they were not happy at all with the service. Don’t get me wrong the staff is great and work hard when you get them but they are just not attentive to you the person paying to be there. Getting the check(Bill) is almost painful. Other than that the food was great!

This place is great! The food is delicious, the cocktails hit the spot and the staff are all lovely. With so many great food options it must be hard for restaurants to stand out in Kingly Court however I think Señor Ceviche manages to do just that. The atmosphere is casual yet lively. We were there on a Wednesday and it was full by 7:30pm — it got quite loud as tables are quite close to each other though. Had to shout a little but with some £5 happy hour pisco sour cocktails in me already — I think I was already shouting anyway! I opted for 1 ceviche and 2 dishes from the BBQ section. The Spaniard ceviche was beautifully presented and the flavours are beautiful. Also impressed with the amount of seabass served. The flat iron was also tasty. But I thought the Uchucuta sauce on top did not pack as much flavour as I expected. Thankfully, the steak was cooked beautifully so it wasn’t really crying out for sauce. So good save! The pachamanca ribs were great too. The sticky sauce and peanuts on top were yum. And the portion was bigger than I expected! The staff were lovely. Very genuinely friendly and attentive. I’ll be back because I really regret not trying the eponymous Señor Ceviche.

I absolutely love Kingly Court — there are so many fabulous restaurants, and Señor Ceviche is one of them. The atmosphere at Señor Ceviche is really lively, a fact we partially attributed to the fact that we arrived for the Pisco Power Hour(£5 cocktails!) There’s a lot of music and it’s got a really nice vibe, although it is quite loud(so maybe a place to go with your friends, instead of your folks). I had the Peruvian Pasion(gin, Campari, passoa, rhubarb syrup, lime juice, and egg white) while P had the San Isidro(El Jimador Blanco, raspberry purée, basil and lime juice). Our waitress suggested six dishes between the two of us. We of course had to start with ceviche, so we opted for the eponymous Señor Ceviche(sea bream and octopus ceviche with sweet potato purée, avocado, coriander, and red onion) as well as the Spaniard(sea bream and king prawn with chorizo, plantain, and red onion). Followed by the anticucho de res — grilled beef heart skewers with sweet potato mayonnaise, olives, and mint. I absolutely loved these — I also really liked the beef heart at Ceviche, as it’s so tender — but Priscilla really wasn’t a fan of these! The frijoles negros(black beans with smoked bacon and burnt aubergine), the pachamanca pork ribs, and nikkei greens were all absolutely delicious. At that point, we were pretty full — but the table next to us got the flat iron steak with chimmichurri, which gave us food envy. I’m so glad we did end up getting it, because it was one of the best dishes we had! We skipped dessert, as we were already pretty full, and the choices didn’t seem particularly exciting. Overall, Señor Ceviche was a great place for dinner with a lovely, vibrant atmosphere, and I’d definitely recommend it!

This is mostly just to rave about the lovely pisco cocktails Señor Ceviche whips up behind their little bar. While the spots to pull up a stool are very limited(get there early, I suppose) you can pop in for a drink without having to order food. When we first arrived, we were told there would be up to two hours wait for a table — so make sure(if you don’t want to eat) that you just mention that you’re interested in getting tipsy instead and if there are spots, the staff will happily accommodate you.

I am so in love with this place! Insanely good food(we’re big fans of the Mr Miyagi and the Flat Iron Y Uchucuta — which is incredible!), great cocktails with super fun décor and really patient staff(it can take a lifetime for us to choose from all the great options). It gets really busy, even mid-week, so I would definitely advise pre-booking. I’d also advise not to visit if you’re absolutely famished because it can get a little pricey, but it’s definitely becoming a regular spot for a weeknight catch up with friends.

This place really surprised me. Being a big fan of Virgilio Martinez’ cooking at Lima & Lima Floral, I never really considered any alternative restaurants for getting my ceviche fix. Señor Ceviche has definitely convinced me now though. Good selection of a couple different ceviches(the salmon was my favourite!) and bbq items for those who can’t get their head around eating raw fish. Also very much enjoyed the Peruvian take on the Eaton mess as dessert and the tasty cocktails at a very reasonable price. Will definitely be back.

I really liked this spot. Great Pisco cocktails for £5 before 7pm. Ceviche was delicious, as were the tempura battered pieces of calamari & cod. Steak chimichurri was delicious and tender. Have to give a big recommendation to the ribs, which frankly were life-changingly good. Absolutely go here!

lemongrass pisco sour — quite tangy with a gentle fragrance of lemongrass. Luckily the cocktail was not too sugary because I never like sweetness before pudding so it went down well with the two starters. aubergine picarones(sweet potato and aubergine doughnus with anchiote, coriander yoghurt and peanuts) £5.00 — The aubergines in the slightly bigger pieces were not cooked through and I personally did not like the sauce. chicharonnes(slow cooked pork belly with sweet soy) £6.00 — if you know what tau yu bak means, then you know what the taste is like, if you don’t look here. Tastewise was good, being not too sweet or saltish, but the meat was very tough. Inca trail — taste quite like mojito with again a gentle spice note from the anise. mr myagi(salmon tiradito with Nikkei tiger’s milk, pomegranate, purple shiso & salmon scratchings £7.00) — lovely and light flavours, it was very much a ladies’ dish. señor ceviche(sea bream and octopus ceviche with aji amarillo tiger’s milk, sweet potato purée, avocado, coriander, red onion & tempura baby squid £8.50) — well this tiger’s milk is not literally milk from the tiger but is the Peruvian term for citrus based marinade that cures seafood in ceviche. A mixture of crunchy, bouncy texture and all the fishy flavours that are beautiful! But honestly, my favourite was the plantain. pisco punch — my least favourite cocktail because of the strong rosemary in this. But I can understand why this cocktail was chosen to be paried with the following dishes… anticucho de corazon(beef heart) — sounds exciting. Nothing gruesome in fact, was skewed elegantly and presented with garnishes with contrasting colours that make it look so enticing. The taste is like a heavy meaty flavour, personally it was my least favourite. supper pollo(chargrilled chicken with rocotto and piquillo pepper salsa) £8.50 — super moist and super delicious! One of my two favourites for the night! Nikkei greens(charred broccoli, lettuce and courgette with miso, aji amarillo and pickled garlic sauce) £6.00 — splendid work on the charring of the vegetables which could so easily be burnt. My second favourite! quinoa(black and white quinoa, baby gem, roasted beetroot, avocado, asparagus, edamame beans, choclo corn & queso) £6.00 Lima espresso martini — I like my coffee hot with no sugar but this cocktail was completely the opposite being cold and a light touch of sweetness. It was a pleasant surprise that I enjoyed very much. tarta de queso — a passion fruit and white chocolate cheesecake with chicha morada syrup

The first time I tried Peruvian food it was at Chotto Matte and I really liked it. I also tried Lima Floral but I thought it was bad value. Knowing this, it’s obvious that I was very excited to discover Señor Ceviche’s dishes. The evening started with a lemongrass pisco sour and some nibbles. The pisco sour and chifa chicharonnes(slow cooked, crispy pork belly with sweet soy) were just ok in my opinion, I really liked the picayune aubergines dishes. It was a few mini sweet potato and aubergine doughnuts with a rich, mildly spiced paste called achiote. The sauce on its own had a very unusual taste, but it really gave an extra smokiness/spiced flavour to the dish. Our dinner continued with their signature dish and a salmon tiradito. Their señor ceviche was made with the freshest sea bream and octopus and aji amarillo tiger’s milk. The pieces of fish were laid down on a smooth sweet potato purée. The whole dish was topped with crunchy baby squid tempura. It was a very well executed dish and very refreshing in the mouth. Regarding their salmon tiradito I wasn’t impressed, it just tasted like a basic salmon sashimi. As a cocktail pairing we had an Inca trail cocktail with the two dishes. Peruvian food is not just about healthy ceviche but it’s also about naughty barbecue meats. We had anticucho de res and super pollo. I’m not a big fan of animal heart in general, so unfortunately I didn’t fancy my anticucho of beef heart. However, I fell in love with their super pollo, the chargrilled chicken was super tasty, tender and moist. It was a delight. I wished I had more than one piece of this delicious juicy poultry. To complement our meat we had some chargrilled green vegetables and quinoa. Both sides were good. I had a preference for the quinoa salter. For dessert, we had a tarta de queso, it tasted ok but I’m not a huge fan of dessert. I only had a little bite to try and gave the rest to the other bloggers who enjoyed it more. Overall Señor Ceviche was a vibrant place with really nice staff. Even if we were very privileged and looked after by the staff during this event, I had a look around during the service and they paid as much attention to other clients as us which is a good thing. I’d definitely recommend Señor ceviche. I’m planning to go back with my boyfriend and have more super pollo and picayune aubergines. If you are around Carnaby street between 12am and 5pm, they have a special lunch deal which includes a ceviche or anticucho with one side, plus a soft drink for £10. And for those who plan to party in central London, you can start with a Pisco Sour Happy Hour from 5 to 7pm(all cocktails are £5).

We went there out of temptation for more exotic food. My friend and I each picked the menu, got a pisco sour and paid over 40£. The skewers were ok, the ceviche was correct but portions are definitely small and for that price that’s a bit steep even for London and especially for a lunch. The staff was very nice though and the atmosphere was good. Overall though I think that we could get a bit more for our money; even the girls ar the table next to us left saying they were still hungry and they ordered more than we did.

Really cool place on the Kingly court. We were dying for a Ceviche and we found the plates fresh and goods. You can’t go wrong with the«classico»! Service was fast and nice. Not to loud but with some music and good atmosphere. Quite pricey. Cocktails were good too(happy hour until 7 or 7:30pm).

Went for dinner for the first time last week and had an overall lovely time! The good: Food was delicious! In particular the señor ceviche, flat iron anticuchos, yucas, pink pickled cabage. Cocktails were great too, in particular the Baranco Babe. Atmosphere/décor was nice. The bad: Bit pricey for the portion size. Would have liked bigger portions! The ugly: Whilst sipping our cocktails, asked for tap water twice and never got it. Also never got asked if we wanted any more drinks after we finished our cocktails(which we probably would have said yes to!) Generally felt the service needs a bit of improvement to match the food. But the staff were pleasant/friendly enough nonetheless! Would definitely return just for the amazing food!

I can’t believe that I’ve only just found this place. It’s been on my list to visit for ages, and now that I’ve been I’m so annoyed at myself for not having been more often. This is some of the most affordable and tastiest ceviche that I’ve had. The cocktails are really good too. We had a lovely boozy lunch, and we’ll be back again soon.

The food is tapas style /sized and our waitress recommended about 3 dishes each. Trying to cover most of the menu, we had the Chifa Chicharonnes(£4) — Slow cooked, crispy pork belly served with a sweet soy sauce, which came as a small dish of about 5 cubes of beautifully cooked but very salty pork belly and the Cusco Quinoa Salad(£6.50) of roasted vegetables, edamame beans, giant choclo corm, crumbly queso & crunchy seeds which was full of interesting textures and subtle flavours. Of the six ceviches, we ordered two — the Señor Ceviche(£9) sea bream, aji amarillo tiger’s milk, avacado & crispy baby squid and The Spaniard(£9.5) sea bream and king prawn with tomato fondue, tiger’s milk and crispy chorizo. Both were superb. The crispy baby squid in the Señor Ceviche added a lovely extra texture over the ceviche I’ve had in the past and the oil from the chorizo added an extra depth of flavour to The Spaniard. From the BBQ section we chose the Smoky Chilli Citrus Prawns(£10) with aji amarillo and panca sauce with zesty lemon glaze and the Tamarind BBQ Chicken(£7.50) skewers with sticky tamarind, aji amarillo BBQ sauce, spring onion and chives. Both were small portions of just two skewers each but were full of flavour. The star of the show was the Pachamanca Pork Ribs(£8.5), marinated in aji amarillo BBQ sauce and served with pink pickled cabbage. It was the best rib either of us had ever had — so we ordered another! Sticky, crispy, juicy, rich… stunning.

Since I first visited the little gem of a restaurant that is Señor Ceviche, I have been victim of this weird thing that is «new restaurant paradox». You know, that moment when you’re not sure if you want to tell the world about this great little place you’ve just been to, or just keep it all to yourself(and make sure they’ll always have a table for you…). Out of the many cocktails we got, my favourite was the Barranco Babe. I never had a cocktail with basil before, but this was a revelation. The Pisco Sour and the Mamacita also come highly recommended, and if you’re really into spicy things, the Nazca Heat is definitely worth a shot! The whole small-plates thing made ordering a lot easier(aka. we got pretty much everything). Chicharonnes, also know as «slow cooked, crispy pork belly with sweet soysauce» are just as good as they sound. Take my word and order them. You’ll regret it if you don’t. A good third of Señor Ceviche’s menu is made of ceviche. I tried a few but my favourite was the Mercado Mixto; a perfectly balanced sea bream and salmon tiradito with orange and pisco tiger’s milk(no worry, no tiger was hurt to produce this dish!). The zing from the orange and the freshness from the pisco really made that dish for me! Now, what do you do when you read the words BBQ Chicken. You order it. And then you gobble it down and consider getting a second serving. Obviously. Alright, that was a lot of protein, which we balanced out with a bowl of Patatas Fritas. Chips with melted cheese and tomato fondue; resistance was futile. I suppose it is not really surprising that we were not quite hungry enough for dessert after all of these. I’ve been told that the brownie’s pretty nice though, so I’m not saying I won’t be back for cocktails and dessert one of these days…

There has been a sudden emergence of Peruvian restaurants in London in the past couple of years and as a cuisine gets more popular, mediocrity arrives This restaurant is just so average… the calibre of Peruvian restaurants in London is so high with Cerviche, Andina, Chotte matte, Lima and Coya… it makes you think what the point of this place really is other than branding itself as Peruvian The cerviches are just boring, nothing new and under seasoned. The pisco sours are boring and tasteless. The meat grills are just normal bbq with no Peruvian influence to them really Go to one of the other places I mentioned as you will pay similar amounts and get better food I’ve given it an extra star as its fun inside and well located …

We had lunch last week and actually quite enjoyed this place. The quick version: a little pricey, the flavours are a little«samey» once you get in there, the portions are very small, but everything was tasty and fresh. The longer version: We opted for the lunch special(basically a side and a main) and then topped up with a few other things since this is all served tapas-style in tiny portions. Pink pickled cabbage: way too sweet, vinegar quick-pickled(think coleslaw) rather than actually pickled(fermented). Would not recommend. Patatas fritas with huancaina & tomato fondue: American-style fries(thin-cut rather than cut like chips) topped with a gooey gravy and a gooey cheese-type thing. Most similar in soul to poutine. Moreish, but not outstanding. Good for that person in your party who starts getting flighty at the idea of ceviche. Tamarind BBQ chicken anticuchos: so good! Nice thigh meat, really tasty tamarind glaze. Get these. Try not to flinch at the price for two tiny skewered pieces of chicken. Flat iron anticuchos: skewers of skirt steak, nicely cooked to medium but not particularly outstanding in any way. Way overpriced for two tiny skewers of meat. Limeno classico: nice mix of textures in here. Tart and not particularly spicy. Mr Miyagi: probably our favourite ceviche out of the mix, we really liked the pomegranate and I loved the baby shiso leaves. Mercado mixto: same as the classico, but with salmon. All three ceviches actually tasted the same, because the tiger’s milk is pretty much the same lime-based sauce no matter what. We kept waiting for something to bring in the heat, but never got more than a tease. Chifa chicharonnes: soft on the inside, seared on the outside, pork belly as it should be. Very, very good, if a tiny bit sweet. I got a water, GF got a cocktail. Our bill came out to £62, and that’s including the lunch specials on «discount». A bit ouch. That being said, everything was exceedingly fresh and the flavours, even if a little similar to each other, were bright and simple. If we’d had less food, I’m not sure we would have been sated, because the portions really are teeny. And for the money, I just can’t recommend it as a good value. But this might be a good date option if you’re looking to try something slightly outside the box that isn’t messy or heavy. Would knock it down to 3.5 because of the price factor, but the staff were really awesome, so I’ll stick with 4.

[Señor Ceviche is on the first floor of Kingly Court opposite Stax Diner] Amid the burger, the-dish-is-in-the-restaurant-name, tapas, ramen, et al. crazes in the last few years, a number of Peruvian places have been established in London in the last couple of years, most notably Ceviche(to which Señor Ceviche seems to owe a lot). On a separate note, I’ll never forget seeing The Metro refer to ceviche as «Peruvian sushi» but that is an whole other conversation for another day. Señor Ceviche’s schtick is, as mentioned, pretty similar to Ceviche’s — small plates style(groan) featuring a selection of ceviches(including the token Japanese-style salmon one), appetiser-type bites, and a selection of grilled meats. As they recommend three dishes per person, I went for: i) Señor Ceviche — sea bream and avocado, topped with baby calamari rings ii) Chifu Chicharonnes — crispy pork belly bits in soy sauce(ZOMG — GETTHESE) iii) Cusco quinoa — quinoa salad with roasted veggies, choclo corn, and queso (as an aside, I’m stupidly amused by going to small plates restaurants on my own.) First off, the Señor Ceviche: I wanted to like it and as a dish it’s not bad. The bream was good, and I like the avocado and sweet potato bits. However, I felt that the marinade was too lime-dominated and lacked the balance that I’ve had in other ceviches. Maybe it’s just my unrefined tastebuds(the proprieter of SC used to work in a top Ceviche joint in Lima), but I just found it a little lacking. I also thought that the non-fish elements of the dish could have been a little firmer and that they’d been in the marinade a little too long, but that’s mostly me nitpicking. The Cusco quinoa was nicely put together but suffered similarly to the ceviche, except this time with wine vinegar. It’s the right idea flavour-wise, but there was just too much in the dressing which was further compounded by the pomegranate seeds. I guess they’re trying to balance it with the cheese, but it doesn’t quite work. Again, could’ve done with a little more crunch in places, but again, that’s me nitpicking. That brings me to the Chicharonnes. Oh my god. This is what I want from my pork belly. Nicely crisped on the outside and almost light. I could seriously eat these all day(even after pledging to cut down on the meat intake), they are fantastic. The soy dressing is pretty in-your-face and pretty intense and kind of overpowers the other two sauces(a kind of salsa verde-type sauce and another chilli-ish…thing), but I didn’t really care because it was seriously delicious. A++ For the three dishes it came out at just over £20 inc service. I could have eaten another dish or two, but it was a reasonable amount of food. Part of me accepts that — in a London context — that’s fair enough, but I did feel it was a bit pricey. I think that SC could be really good with a little bit of tinkering here and there. I also thought the staff were really nice(nice staff always makes it hard to give a less than 4* review). I’d definitely want to come back to try some of the other meat dishes(and eat more chicharonnes… mmm), so hopefully they’ll have made some adjustments when they do.

We discovered this restaurant while searching for a good Peruvian restaurant in London. The restaurant certainly satisfied our craving for ceviche and pisco sour’s. The meats were delicious as well. The ambience is colorful and uplifting and the staff is pleasant but not too engaging. The only disappointing feature was the host/manager who came across as a bit arrogant. We asked for a steak knife to cut our grilled meats and were informed that the Chef refuses to provide a steak knife. When we spoke to the manager, he promptly informed us that the knife provided was just fine for the meat even though he saw us struggling to cut it. He then justified his position by saying that since they do not serve steak, they do not carry steak knives while the server had just informed us that they did have steak knives in the kitchen. Strange behavior from an establishment that otherwise has potential.

We arrived around 7:30 on a Wednesday night and the place was packed! We were immediately greeted by a friendly hostess and told they were fully booked, but could dine at the bar or outside. Since London is a twinkling wonderland at the moment, we happily sat outside. Our server came right over and we ordered the following: Ayahuasca cocktails — slightly sweet and peachy with a nice ginger kick. Yucas — came to us hot crispy with a tasty aji panca cream sauce. Limeño Classico Ceviche — Fresh sea bream with delicious lime sourness, balanced by bits of sweet potato. Señor Ceviche — Spicer than the Limeño(I enjoy a bit more heat) and has a lovely crunch from fried hominy. Tamarind Chicken — Super moist, great sticky sweet flavour. Flat Iron Anticucho — Wish it had more heat, but enjoyed the chimichurri. Patatas Fritas — If I had read the menu properly and realised this was fritas and not bravas I wouldn’t have ordered this one. My fault. Not a big fan of these fries, but the sauces are nice. Food was great, service was quick, ambiance was spot on. We will definitely visit Señor Ceviche again very soon.

Quite a dissapoitment! Service is not good, no one comes to serve us for ages in our table, our teas are left in the bar for more than 10 mins. The meat dishes are better than the seafood one, but still not executed well, too burned, too dry. The seafood ones are just taste too similar and too sour for me, too much lime everywhere for both food and drinks. The only good point is it is a lively environment to eat with good vibes, so lively that I barely hear what my friend is talking to me. So suggest to come here when u r a bit drunk and don’t need to finish your full sentences and food is not ur priority.
