Popped in here as it had a free table and all the other Italian’s in the area were rammed! I had minced veal cannelloni, which was perfectly cooked(even the pasta was cooked in the traditional al-dente Italian way). The veal tasted smokey and slightly of red wine(although that could’ve been the incredible house red I was knocking back) while the sauce was thick, not watery, with a really nice, strong mascarpone taste. Plenty of food in the dish and I was full to the brim by the end. My girlfriend had bolognese ravioli, and while it may not sound fancy, it tasted amazing(again, lots of red wine and garlic flavours). Plenty of filling in the ravioli. Glass of house red wine for £3 which was huge, unlike most places. Did I mention they make the pasta in-house?

I went here out of sympathy as they seem to never have any guests. The guy slammed a pizza down just after 5(!) minutes and proclaimed: «Good Pizza!!»… Oh well. The fact that it was so quick I suspect was that it was frozen and probably heated in the microwave or something. it couldn’t even compete with the £3.5 pizza at Icco’s across the street. What a shame.

Came here for a birthday meal; Italian waitresses were friendly, but Signor Grilli himself was fairly gruff! Nice clean restaurant, good pizza and the pasta was tasty. Nice change from Pizza Express, the Starbucks of the pizza world!
