Good mix of asian food: thai, chinese, an japanese(but no sushi!) had the udon noodles which were very tasty. Service was above average but not amazing. Just not sure about the name. However it puts enough people off that its often not too busy

Slurp is my favourite spot in Streatham. From the outside it always looks like a bar but inside the décor is like Wagamamas. The menu is a hybrid of Thai, Chinese and Japanese cuisine. I usually go for one of the bento boxes as for £11 you have a huge variety of food, with a main, rice, salad, edamame beans and gyoza. It even comes with a miso soup to start with. The service can be a little slow sometimes but other than that I would definitely recommend Slurp!

I am so glad to have found this place! Matt B and I have been here twice since I moved to London. Both times I got the teriyaki salmon bento box. It’s totally delicious and comes with: rice, salmon, edamamae, cucumber/seaweed salad, and dumplings. It’s a ton of food – basically two meals. It’s always been a little crowded – because it’s delicious. I had the fried squid strips last time too. They come with a sweet and sour sauce and they’re pretty amazing. Definitely recommended checking out Slurp!

The name Slurp gave me the impression that this would be inauthentic Asian food, but I was pleasantly surprised. The food here is fresh and light, not overly fried, battered or greasy. My favorites are the dumplings, salt and pepper prawns and squid. So many great seafood options! The ramen is where I have to draw the line, though. It’s not the best I’ve had. But then again, I am a bit of a ramen whore in multiple continents so, I get around. The décor is zen and modern and the servers are all really sweet and attentive. Solid overall!

Always a great eating experience, the menu doesn’t need to change because it’s the perfect balance of all the best dishes from Chinese, Japanese and Thai. Would always recommend going for the ramen soup, with the salmon and prawn version being a personal favourite. The starter menu is all good with the yasai gyoza being particularly delicious, as is the salt and pepper squid if you are a fan of chilli! Great value as a party of 3 ate for under £50 with starters and mains with drinks for everyone. One of my favourite places to eat in south London.

I had two times take away from here. The quality of the food was OK. I plan to go for a dinner, but I don’t have enough time for now so I will keep on the takes away.

I’ve only ever had the rameyon here and I must say that they do a mean bowl of noodles. Chilli beef rameyon is one of the better things that has happened in my life. I imagine that the other dishes on the menu may be equally as delicious, but that’s a chance I’m not going to take. I love this place!

I usually have take aways on my day off, mostly of my working days are spent in a kitchen, cooking and trying different kinds of food. Personally, slurp was a good experience. Ramen was well proportioned, tasty and kept simple as it is. Chinese, Japanese and Thai are not really a type of cuisine where u can eat as fine dining. It’s a great place to take friends in, or the girlfriend. Various items, various processes of working the food. I thought if I wanted better, I would just cook it myself ;) simple and relaxed atmosphere. Great for a before theatre session.

Huge portions, well cooked tasty food. Cheap! An excellent place for a good meal. Goes onto my frequent visit list. Meal for one with drink costs 10 quid.

boring — Jack of all trades and master of none. good hangover food and when you’re not craving anything in particular there is a wide variety on offer. Peronally dont like sitting on a table with other people unless the food is outstanding like Fujiyama in Brixton. A shame because Streatham really lacks a decent Chinese restaurant and this just misses the mark for some reason.

I’m going to have to say that Slurp is one of those places that’s a jack of all trades and master of few(not none since the green curry I had was okay) but nonetheless not great. We were strapped for choices this past weekend on route to the cinema in Streatham. We had a peep in and it look relatively busy(which is usually a good sign right?) Wrong. I had the seafood green curry which was good, but then again I’ve never really had a ‘bad’ green curry — I think it’s one of those dishes that is actually quite hard to mess up. The other half ordered a ‘nasi goreng’ which for some reason fell under the ‘thai’ category of the menu?! Now, his looked the part but unfortunately did not taste the part other than the sunny side egg that lay on top. Upon leaving we hadn’t noticed just how rammed it had gotten and struggled to get someone’s attention for the bill. When it eventually arrived we were then again neglected. We had to walk up to the counter to pay(a sign of bad service for me unless it’s one of those hole in the wall places where you KNOW that is the way to pay). Plus, after the 15mins of waiting at the table and near movie start time what choice did we have? They then did not have a card machine available as a waitress was using it elsewhere so again we waited. I cannot say this will be a re-visit. I will settle for Nandos(which I love) across the road pre-movie dining next time.

The best place to go in Streatham Hill. Excellent food, friendly staff, good value for money. I go there at least once a week and often order take away– very quick service.

I guess the place is nice me and girlfriend had chinese for starters and then on to the Thai curry’s. Very nice but i can’t say the same for the Chinese starters. Not sure if they were spring rolls more like just batter. Service from staff was good with a smile. I will go back but just for the currys.

This is essentially an independent version of Wagamama — wooden benches, various different kinds of Eastern cuisine. When I went the food was OK, but nothing particularly special. Perfectly OK if you fancy noodles and don’t want to travel further afield to a Wagamama, but I would consider walking up Streatham Hill to Oishii, which does sushi and Japanese/Thai noodles, and has nicer food and atmosphere in my opinion.

I was pleasantly surprised to find such a little treasure of a place in Streatham! I have to admit that I only had a takeaway but I was extremely impressed by the quality of the food and indeed the presentation of it. There seemed to be lots of choice on the menu. everything from Sushi to curry all at credit crunch prices. even better! I will definitely be going back!

Slurp is one of those places where you always know what you’re gonna get. It has a mixed menu of Chinese, Japanese and Thai dishes, which are great value, honest and well cooked. It’s one of those places which you’d eat regularly at midweek if you couldn’t be bothered to cook, or were going to the cinema, or catching up with local friends — or a place you’d get take out from on a Fri or Sat if you were having a quiet night in with a DVD. And given the lack of any decent Chinese takeaways in Streatham, Slurp is a welcomed addition to the high st. However, it’s not a place to go to if you wanted to go for dinner as a night out, or wanted an amazing Chinese /Thai /Japanese — to me, it just isn’t that«destination» place where you’d go for something that was a little bit special. Don’t get me wrong, I like the food, and I get food from Slurp quite regularly — however I’m not sure I’ve ever been there to eat in on a Fri or Sat night — like I have at Oishi down the road. Slurp is a good, functional place for food for me — but that’s about as far as it goes for me.

Excellent food from a wide menu covering Japanese, Thai and Chinese. The bento boxes and the ramen are superb. Seating is similar to Wagamama’s with long benches and shared tables. Well-priced and with friendly staff. It’s worth making a trip to Streatham Hill to check this place out.
