I have been here once before and wasn’t very impressed. This may be due to the fact we went slightly early at 9pm. The venue was nice and had quite a few tables. You can book table before going which is probably the best thing to do so you can arrive later. The drinks are very expensive.

Having stepped out of Adventure Bar as the music was too loud and of bad taste, we were wondering towards the very busy Clapham Common area in searh for a place that serves cocktails AND beer. This bar has a bit of strange vibe going on. It looks like it’s trying to be modern, hip and cool with a Moroccan twist. The waitresses were all wearing very short skirts and deep necklines. But its is a rather nice spot with a cocktail happy hour, which also includes the beer … my brother was very happy about… and a relaxed atmosphere. We didn’t have the food, which by the looks of it was more nibbles and not a proper meal. Anyhow the seats were too low to have a comfortable meal.

My experience at SOUK was pretty nice. So firstly, the bar looks really sleek and service was great. The thing that threw me off, was the atmosphere and music. There were a fair number of people there, but it had a very flat atmosphere. It may have been the majority of clientele, but the music had something to do with it. The music was almost trancey, one song was light dub step and just so out of place. I may go back again for the service, enjoy some foods but then move on pretty quickly.

Souk is a beautiful bar with that special something! i love this place, its a home away from home, fabulous cocktails and nibbles, perfect to unwind after a hard week for romantic drinks(try the gorgeous Passionate Affair) or a fun filled girls night, Bellini time! I found this little gem in their first few years of opening and i still keep going back, if you haven’t been, it’s time to check it out!

I’ve been here a couple of times as a starting point and I wasn’t that impressed. The drinks are way over priced, especially as this bar offers nothing special. It is small and narrow, so wherever you stand you always appear to be in the middle of a gangway, so it makes for uncomfortable standing(not that standing is comfortable). I found it a little pretentious, which made for a cold and judgemental atmosphere. However it is situated in a convenient location and if you are with good company then you probably wont care where you are!

SO.UK used to be the«hot new thing» on Clapham High Street, but it feels like it’s lost it’s cool factor in recent months. The food is good and the staff are always friendly, it just seems to be empty most of the time. I’m really not sure why… trying to be too cool for school perhaps? Anyway, i recommend SO.UK if you’re looking for a quiet night, a cocktail and a light bite to eat.

Met my future husband here :) Randomly came in here one night bc my friend new the door guy and turned out to be one of those very fun random nights. Lots of business guys on the pull, lots of playa’s, lots of money rolling around. Not bad, open late, and crowded!

I like to describe this bar as ‘A little bit of the West End on your doorstep’. The bar itself is big enough to gather a decent sized crowd but small enough so that the doormen can be choosy! In my experience the best night to give this bar a go is a Friday. The have a decent crowd partying away to first rate tunes often mixed live by TOPDJKOSMETIQ. The drinks are costly but this helps to keep out the Riff Raff. It’s open until 3am so another added bonus is that you don’t have to be tempted to head to one of the less celubrious local ‘night clubs’(loosly described) in the area.

The draw of SOUK for me is that it has late opening hours, meaning that if you really desire a few more drinks when the other bars shut or after you’ve come out of the last showing of film at the picture house then you are certain to get inside and certain t get a drink. It’s a very straight place and at times the atmosphere can be a bit too laddish or a bit meat-markety. The bar staff are good at cocktails though they could get a move on. Saying that the presentation of the drinks is very good and the staff usually friendly. They sometimes have some good dj’s though at weekends the place is usually too crowded to really appreciate it.

I have had some fun nights at SOUK and the last one was no different. Souk is a lounge and gets VERY crowded and when I say crowded I mean it’s almost impossible to get a drink without spilling a bit as you manœuvre your way through the crowd. When I go to Souk 99.9% of the time we reserve a table. The Moroccan themed clubs has low tables, so watch your knees and low chairs. The other .1% we arrive a before the bar gets too crowded which allows up to grab a few drinks without having to do the whole dance of getting around people. Souk is a spot that you can go to with a bunch of friends or for a night out with your honey. It has a pretty low-key vibe, but be warned, Souk has a dress code so if you are not looking your Saturday night best you won’t be joining in the fun.

Great décor alongside an equally good atmosphere, stylish SO.UK is never too busy. This may be due to the expensive drinks — SO.UK is one of those bars which serve doubles as standard, so make sure you’ve got a heathly bank balance before you order a large round. Often guests are treated to a good selection of music from a live DJ set at weekends.

Souk is located on Clapham High Street and is one of those places I used to walk by a lot thinking it looked nice but never went in. So when I did, at first I was pleasantly surprised. The décor is quite tasteful there are latticed panels, Moroccan lanterns, and pouffes dotted around engraved metal tables. I went here in the early evening and found it to be quite chilled out and pleasant. The food is good here, and we ordered lots of starters, although it is rather pricey for the portions you get. They have a good cocktail list and a good range of non-alcoholic drinks too. However, I’ve also been here in the late evening on the weekend, where we were charged £5 to get into a crowded bar, with bad music and a meat market atmosphere. The music was too loud, there was no place to dance or even move and so we left shortly after one drink. I recommend this place if you want to quiet place to catch up with friends, however avoid it on the weekends, it’s not worth the money nor giving up your personal space!

This Clapham based club, bar is good fun! Love the décor –candle lights, the warmth of colours, little Buddha statues(??) if I remember well. I don’t really know about how comfortable the armchairs are, because everytime I went there I danced all night. It can get really crowded in the weekends, after 10 o’clock –so it can get a bit physical. But girls! Really good looking guys I’ve seen there. So I don’t see why the unisex toilets should be a problem. Who enjoys funky, dance music will have a good time there!

In this stylishly intimate Morrocan themed bar, candle light and incense accompany the comfortable seats and big cushions. The sofa like seating area makes this place great for a group of friends, a catch-up or even a date. It can get very crowded in the evenings though, making a trip to the bar a complete mission. However, they have a good wine list and an even better cocktail menu, though a little pricey. I’ve not eaten here but know it’s Morrocan themed too. They have a late license til 2am on Friday and Saturday and so a DJ takes over, but the rest of the week chill out Asian beats play just loud enough to give the place a great atmosphere whilst allowing you to chatter away. Oh and the only downside is the random unisex washroom!

A cocktail lovers paradise but make sure you bring plenty of cash! They really do have the most unusual gorgeous cocktails, quite girly some of them. This is a great place to go before a club to warm up a bit. Unisex toilets are a bit off putting for us girls, however, the resolve to be disgusted is soon diminished with the right cocktail!
