hehe, this place is a bit like a dive bar back in the States. Thats no bad thing and the guys that run it are really cool, a ‘great laugh’. No problem with the drinks and you get all types of interesting people here from students to professionals to wheeler dealers. Open late too! I said good for dancing although I mean the dancing on tables/bar variety. Great Stuff!

A decent little bar, possibly the best in Finsbury Park. Its colourful, warm lighting make it a great place to catch up with friends any time of the day or week. There’s the buzz of others chatting and music from the jukebox but they don’t drown out conversation. It’s a cute place that feels cool without trying to be trendy. The people in there definitely aren’t(trying too hard, I mean) and that’s refreshing. They’re an unassuming, friendly bunch. Go if you’re in the area.

Dead excited about this place from the outside I was keen to get in and explore. I admit to judging a book by it’s cover and expecting a rather more exciting experience. Once through the door I realised I really shouldn’t make assumptions. The delight is it’s somewhere that offers an alternative to the old men’s boozers that monopolise the local area. But the selection of beer is less than inspiring and it certainly doesn’t have the 1950s American feel that I had expected from the outside and the name. The jukebok is constantly rolling out the rock and indie and apparently it’s free on Mondays. I doubt I’d recommend anyone to out of their way to pick up a pint here but should you be passing and in need of a little something to wet your whistle then choose this over the grot carpet clad alternatives.

Funny sort of place; I really like it. Its decked out a bit like a student bar, though the clientele is not at all studenty– but pretty mixed, to be honest. The jukebox seems to play constantly, and if you put some money in it will get round to paying your selections in its own time– large amounts of rock to be had, quite a bit in the VH1 Classic genre. I go early in the week when its fairly empty and I can read my mags and sip my pint happily. Later in the week it gets busier, with live music n’ stuff. Definitely the best place to drink in the vicinity, with The Woodbine, the preferred drinking establishment a little up the road, being a clone of any other london pub catering to reasonably affluent twenty and thirty somethings. Go to T Bird if you want something a bit moe unusual.

The T-Bird bar is a fun little bar on the Blackstock Road. As one might guess from the name there is a loose American theme in the décor, though it certainly doesn’t seem to have been carried out with any sort of militancy. The pub has a general charming, shabby feel about it with cracked sofas and low slung tables. The bar is typically stocked and is open later and so great for one more drink. The atmosphere is generally relaxed and friendly, with a lot of people increasingly worse for wear. The staff are similarly amiable. They have weekly open mic nights and DJs which are good fun. A really fun, slightly shabby pub, that is open later on Blackstock Road.
