I popped in here because Koroko was out of sushi, and was pleasantly surprised! They do a 2 for £7 on the sushi boxes so I got 2 of those and some gyoza. The sushi wasn’t amazing but is good for the price, and the gyoza were delicious. It wouldn’t be an ideal place to sit as it’s in the middle of the shopping centre, but is a great place to pick up a quick, cheap meal if you’re passing!

Ta-Maki in Wimbledon is a little stall with bar seating that does pretty nice chicken katsu curry. Mostly, it’s not overly busy and you get your food quickly, freshly prepared. Ta-Maki within the Centre Court Shopping Centre next to Wimbledon station is another of my favourite lunch spots at the moment. I usually always order a small chicken katsu curry and while I like the sauce at other places nearby a little bit more, I think they have perhaps the best chicken. The staff are friendly and efficient. The food is ready after only a short wait, yet still freshly prepared on-site, I think — just what I need in my lunch break. Nothing spectaular, but tasty and consistent.

I love love love love Ta-Maki sushi. Did I mention I love it? Without doubt the best sushi I have found in London. I agree with other reviews — it’s a bit more expensive than other places but it’s so worth it. It’s about £1 cheaper to take away than ‘eat in’ so I usual eat it at home or in the park! They do really good curry and rice which is a much cheaper meal — about £4.

Nothing amazing about this sushi takeaway spot, but it’s pretty decent. Prices are higher than other similar places throughout the city, but the quality was alright. I have had better and I have certainly had worse! Nothing exciting, but the salmon was passably good. Service was a little short, but I was just grabbing a pack of salmon maki from the cooler, so I wasn’t too put out.

A small booth in the Centre Court Shopping Centre, Ta-Maki sells a wide selection of Japanese dishes including some more unusual creations(roast beef with mayo sushi, anyone?). I tend to stick to the tasty salmon combos or the rather generously portioned gyudon. I have to say I wouldn’t recommend the curry though as it tends to be dry. You can pick up pre-packaged sushi to takeaway and if you’re having a lazy day and live nearby, you can also choose to have your food delivered. My orders have always arrived lightning fast even on Friday or Saturday evenings. Takeaway and delivery is the main part of their business and I generally opt for it as there are only 4 seats and the shopping centre can get busy. The prices are a little high but then they always are for decent sushi in London.

I really like the sushi there. Futumaki is tasty, especially the Vegetable Wrapped with Salmon. Try also the Katsu Rolls. The ingredients are fresh and you won’t regret if you order from there.

One of my favourites for a quick meal in Wimbledon. Not the cheapest, but then again I would rather pay a bit more and avoid the fast food alternatives. The Japanese curry they do is lovely, the staff are very friendly and their reward card(which gets you a free sushi tray after you have bought a certain number of dishes) keeps me coming back for more! The branch inside Wimbledon station is now closed.

I think the best description of this place would be a Japanese takeaway cum diner. It’s located on the upper level of Centre Court Shopping Centre with another branch inside Wimbledon station Their main business if takeaway, either from the refrigerated section or from the counter for their hot food. There are also 4 stools to sit on if you want to eat in. They offer pre-packed sushi and sashimi in the cold section. At £8, the tuna and salmon sashimi isn’t cheap but good for pre-packed. I’ve been offered free samples of their curries from the hot section but haven’t had any yet — I just find Japanese curry inferior to the south east Asian ones I’m used to Good for a snack
