Really bad service, staff are rude and no customer service skills.

We decided to go to Taste of sian after reading the good reviews and seeing the outrageously low prices. This place is fantastic!!! The service was good, the pad Thai was fresh and flavorful. Great food for the price and definitely worth a trip to Camden town.

Love Taste of Siam! Come here often on my lunch break for the lunch special, which is fantastic value. Huge portions for the amount you pay, always come away full. The Thai curry is amazing. Love the sauce and the rice, and you get plenty of chicken too. Satay skewers as a starter is good too! Really can’t fault it as a great lunch deal.

We grabbed dinner here tonight and the food was very good! We started with the Tom Yum Kai for 4.50 pounds and it was really tasty. I didn’t love the taste of the chicken in there but it was fine. My husband had the pad see ew with beef. The beef was very tough but he liked the sauce(it wasn’t for me). I ordered the Pad Thai and subbed out the prawns for chicken. I also asked for it spicy and the server was very short with us about that — he really just wanted to give us the spice dish to add our own. I really am not a big fan of the spice dish, I always feel it tastes better when they add the spice in the kitchen. Luckily, he did finally agree to make it spicy and it was really good — but very spicy so be careful if you’re not into that sort of thing. My husband did end up using the spice tray option for his pad see ew(instead of having the kitchen do it) and the spice was very oily. The entrees were 6.50 pounds each. Service was not too friendly. I’d recommend this place.

Tasty Thai in the heart of Camden town. The restaurant has 3 different entrances with separate seating areas but all are part of taste of Siam. They also have a specialty thai supermarket located next door. The menu is extensive and authentic. Our server greeted us right away and brought drinks quickly. We didn’t waste time ordering. I went with my usual pad thai and the bf tried panang curry. Our food came out very quickly, much sooner than I expected but was hot tasty and fresh. The environment was nice, cozy and clean. We all enjoyed our meals. The server did take a while to bring checks after dinner as it started to get quite busy, however we were still in and out in a jif! Recommended as a good spot for reasonably priced and tasty thai food in a neighborhood that has many many ethnic restaurants to choose from.

(Restaurant only) For lunch, this place is hard to beat. I’ve been twice for lunch this year– my 2nd visit happening today. I got the beef green curry(£4.95) today… though I wished the beef was bit a wee bit more tender, there were really no complaints(I wanted to drink the curry sauce!). My first visit a few months ago was even better– I ordered their first item on their lunch menu, a curry dish with prawns for £5.95, and it was super-delicious. Consistently great food with not-so-consistent service… I didn’t fancy the elder man’s curt attitude that served us today, while the younger woman for my first visit was pleasant. If they can get those kinks out the way, I may have found my definite go-to for budget Thai food.

I have been frequenting this place for three years(so I dont know why its taken so long to review it!?) Its made up of three eateries, and an asian food shop. Of the three eateries ive eaten in the noodle bar and the restaurant. The other part is more of an over flow area that sometimes opens for groups. The food here is by far the best thai ive had in london and its very reasonably priced. The staff are typical thai I.e. very friendly and the food is super tasty. When I have out of towners in, I always take them to this spot as I know the quality it routinely excellent and the price is very«un-london». The menu covers a whole load of different dishes of which ive tried most. Id recommend the massaman curry and the thai beef chili salad… but everything is good. All three of the eateries are very comfortable and unfussy in décor. This place isnt super posh but for what you pay and what they serve its well worth 5 *‘s

Not often am I motivated to write a review, less a negative one, but my experience of Taste of Siam has been so poor that I have to leave comment. To summarise the food is mediocre at best and the service non existent, but I think that neither of these things are the priority at Taste of Siam. What you have here is the only Thai restaurant at the Mornington Crescent end of Camden and therefore the only possible choice for someone looking to eat Thai at that end of Camden. This is the 1970’s school canteen of Thai food. We ordered some starters, soups, main dishes and rice, vegetables. When I asked for the soups and a starters first the waitress became confused and in the end just walked a way when we were unable to reach an agreement. There are not a lot of vegetarian dishes on the menu, in the vegetarian section there is a Green Curry that my partner wanted to order, I asked the waitress if it was vegetarian, she said yes, I asked if it had Ka Pi(shrimp paste) she told me they don’t put shrimp paste in green curry, she seemed confused and annoyed I was asking questions about the food. We asked for a few more minutes in which time we notice there is an F for fish symbol by the ‘veggie’ curry, I assume for the Ka Pi in the paste or fish sauce which is what I was trying to ascertain. I ordered Pla Rad Prik, crispy fish with chill sauce. This was almost inedible. It was fried fish with half a bottle of Thai Sweet Chilli sauce poured over it, with large pieces of undercooked peppers and onion. Gloopy and overly sweet with the generic Sweet Chilli sauce, not resembling in any way the traditional rendition of this dish. The staff didn’t smile once, they got annoyed when I asked anything about any of the dishes, when they came to serve the food they listlessly approached the table with zero grace and enthusiasm, plonking the food down on the table without any consideration or acknowledgement. The banana fritter and coconut ice cream were ok, though the batter was a bit soggy, the Nam Pla Prik(a condiment of chilli in fish sauce) was the best thing they served us. It seems to me they are only interested in serving the passer by and infrequent customer, or any of the hoard of tourists who pass through Camden on a night out, the food is bland and cheaply done, with no attention to creating what should be a great dish(Pla Rad Prik for example, served here covered in the ubiquitous bottled Sweet Chilli). I won’t go back, there are much better Thai restaurants at the Chalk Farm end of Camden.
