The Tea Clipper was the last stop of a tour to STONEHENGE. The food was good but the people were great.

We wandered in here because someone told us it’s the closest location to Harrods to go get some fish and chips. The food was a few pounds more than usual probably because of the location, but overall it was decent. Nothing spectacular, but they did have crispy fries, which was nice. The 2 guys serving us were really nice. They were accommodating even though it was busy and gave a coloring kit thing to my niece to keep her busy. Totally unexpected!

The best pub in Knightsbridge I would say. My colleagues and friends have been many times after work or to start a night out. Found away from the main Brompton road, it’s a great spot for a British pub with good indoor and outdoor space. Really friendly and lively outside when it’s warm and not just for smokers. It’s indoor feeling is very comfortable and simple with a nice menu. But the selection of beers on tap are very small but a decent offering by the bottle. Unfortunately this is possibly the least equipped toilet facilities in a pub I have ever seen. For over two years the hand drier has never worked in the men’s. And my friends would rather not use the toilets there and wait until we get to somewhere else.

Whomp! Touring expensive parts of London, survived Harrods and in desperate need of a beer? Come to the Tea Clipper where pints are not exorbitant and you can have a nice sit and sip. The washrooms are upstairs, which is not clear on first glance, go back to where you entered and look for a weird door, and if there is a staircase behind it, you have found your way! This was just what we needed and it was completely satisfactory.

I was here on a group event, its an old pub with a lot of character. They had a few beers on tap and our party had arranged for some finger food which was delicious. Most bars in London serve beer warm at room temperature and with little or no gas. So expect your beer to be flat and warm.

The Tea Clipper is the normal British pub, also usually referred to as an «Old-Men-Pub». The interior is a bit worn, the tables are sticky and so far I haven’t seen anybody eat there … other than the usual crisps and nuts. If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of Brompton Road, this is a good place to stop for a break and have a nice drink, but don’t linger too long, as there are nicer places to spend the evening. Mainly it’s a reasonable priced waterhole for the business people working in this area and on a Friday night you find yourself surrounded by estate agents and the arts people from the near by auction house.

I thought this might be a nice place for lunch and a drink — a nice escape from the shopping madness just down the street. Well, the neighborhood is nice, but I can’t say the same for the Tea Clipper. The first thing I noticed as we sat down was that the tables were sticky. I mean, they were sticky like they hadn’t been wiped down in months! Yuck. The servers had no enthusiasm whatsoever. They were on autopilot, I think. The beer was good, but the food was awful: dry chicken hiding under burned bread, with a salad of browned, slimy lettuce on the side. The bottom line: don’t bother! There must be better pubs nearby.

A-OK is just about right. I’ve been a couple of times for drinks but recently tried the Sunday lunch — meh meh MEH! The beef was over cooked or should I say well done? The veg tasted like they had been sat under those funny heated lamp things for far to long and me Yorkshire was swimming in fat: o( On an up note, this place does have the feel of a traditional ye olde English pub, which is quite a welcome relief after going three rounds, ahem, I mean a shopping trip on the busy bustling honey trap that is the Brompton Road. Go on, escape the jungle for a quickie, because you’re flipping worth it!

We visited the Tea Clipper as a group of four(tourists) on a Sunday afternoon two weeks ago. Unfortunately we were too late to order the Sunday Roast; thus, we ordered the classical Fish & Chips and burgers instead. The food arrived sufficiently quickly and was quite tasty. The pricing was okay, altough the servings might have been a bit larger. ;-) We were able to enjoy our drinks in a nice, quiet atmosphere. The interior is light, clean and does not appear too crowded. Considering this, we can only recommend the Tea Clipper for a pint too the weary, hungry and thirsty tourist, e. g. after a visit to the Science Museum. The Tea Clipper can be comfortably reached by foot after a pleasant walk of around 10 minutes through Knightsbridge.

I’ve been going here for a long time when in the area. It’s just about above average due to the fact that it’s usually quieter than a lot of the other pubs in the area. It hasn’t got a huge amount of character and the food is standard faire. Cccassionally shows the football, though only on small screens.

Causal and classic, this pub was the perfect place to end a day of London sight seeing. After taking a stroll through Harrords we asked a security guard for a pub recommendation and he directed us here. We enjoyed classics like fish and chips with a few pints. It was pretty quiet when we were there and we appreciated the friendly staff.

Casual but cute pub– I recommend it after a day of shopping in Knightsbridge :) The food and drinks are average and I don’t like it when tables are sticky, but what else can you expect from a pub!

Really fantastic, classic pub. I used to live 2 blocks away, but its worth the trip from across town.

I stopped in the Tea Clipper on a recent Sunday evening and was initially impressed with the availability of a couple of real ales which turned out to be both really quite nice. However I don’t advise you to get food here, I ordered a cajun chicken burger which was edible but pretty tasteless. The cajun sauce was remiscent of the glue one can make using flour and water, a little offputting. It was a quid less than the basic burger you can get at Balans restaurant and just nowhere near as tasty.

Just off Knightsbridge, the Tea Clipper is hard to dislike; it’s also not easy to fall in love with, as it’s a fairly generic fancy-pub-with-wood-panelling place. They do serve a good pint of real ale, with a fairly consistent — and tasty — selection, and surprisingly enough for such an upmarket area you’ll not have to mortgage your soul to afford a round. It gets unpleasantly full of businesspeople around the end of the working day, and they are the kind of businesspeople you’d expect to find around there, so if you have an aversion to rich yuppies it may not be the atmosphere you’re looking for. But get there early or stay late and you can have the place almost to yourself, for a while anyway, and it is a comfortable and attractive pub in which to drink and natter. It also, I believe, serves food. In a nutshell, the Tea Clipper is an entirely acceptable and solidly pleasant pub, a good back-up or place to stop in for a lunch-time pint. The beer is good and the chairs are comfortable, but it fails really to be exceptional.
