Fresh baked croissants and my fav, Mediterranean Puffs. Let’s face it, the Tesco Express and Metro venues are even more overpriced than the actual Tesco supermarkets but hey, you’re paying for convenience. This one is okay by me as the only time I buy anything here is when I have forgotten my lunch or didn’t eat dinner the night before, so need a croissant in the morning. Their baked goods are fresh and warm, very tasty. The pears are nice too.

Open late until 11PM. Convenient for those late night purchase for Strongbow, fruit, muffins/cookies(discounted at night, especially the broken ones), etc. Selection is not very big and some items are a bit pricey, but thats what you get for convenience.

Located conveniently opposite the South Quay DLR station. Best to visit in the late evening when the store has had a chance to restock. Their range of prepared veggies and meats is respectable, though like other Tesco Expresses pushes primarily frozen foods. I particularly like their on-going hamburger specials — four fatty patties at GBP2.00 is a bargain. Keep a look out for beer and wine specials.
