Are you a Malayalee? Or do you love the food of Kerala? If you do then I am sure you will love this place. Authentic Kerala style fried fish, chicken curry and every malayalee’s favorite ‘puttum kadalayum’. Gosh I miss Kerala now. Try this place if you want to get a feel for Kerala cuisine. You will not regret

Tasty food– not quite as authentic as they can though. Prefer ananthapuri, rasa for authenticity. But a reasonably alternative.

This is the best cheap Kerala(a South Indian State) food in London. Period. I did realise something quite recently — after visiting the restaurant some 10 times. My favourite dish — Beef Fry — is not on the menu. But I ask for it and get it — no problems. I haven’t asked them why beef dishes aren’t on the menu but their best dish from what I have had would be the beef fry and Kerala Porotta. Happy Unhealthy-ness.

Happy Onam! This is a Keralan restaurant on a non descript High Street in East London. However when I went today, they was celebrating the Onam festival, which made it a little bit more special with all the decorations and the small shrine in the corner. I’ve eaten here before but as I was looking at the menu, the waiter suggested a banana leaf curry. Being new to this I agreed, I was pleasantly surprised to see them dishing out small portions of sambals, rice and curries on a banana leaf complete with a poppadum. The food range from cold, warm, spicy, bitter, chewy, creamy, sweet and sour. Finished off with a tapoica pudding with coconut and cashews. Finally, there was a nice little banana. Being a bit deaf. The waiter did not speak a lot of english. Communication was a little skewed. However they were pleasant, as I think they were slightly amused by the lone white male, eating in an otherwise all Keralan restaurant. They offered extra rice which was gratefully accepted. I liked this place despite being slightly baffled by the exoticness of it all. But it makes a nice change from the usual generic Indian restaurant.
