Really excellent overall. For any occasion as you can get everything from amazing cakes to brunch or other food. Amazing service and starched wonderful napkins on top of all the great food. Super friendly waiting staff makes every coffee break, lunch or dinner really wonderful. The coffee pot is really good and wonderfully brewed. They also have a small shop with an assortment of teas which I can’t find anywhere else.

Convenient and quick with a tiny grocery/pastry in the front of the restaurant. Used to love the pastries but there’s a problem with bugs landing on the food. Stopped going due to the little gnats & flies that would land or get trapped under the plastic coverings. Sadly, I go elsewhere now for a quick pastry/bread fix. There’s Gails nearby.

A favorite stop in London. I am so glad I discovered this standalone gem in a neighborhood of Chipotles — it’s in its own class. Tea and scone was all I came for — and to say that’s all I got would be an understatement. The atmosphere filled me calm, the view with London, and the offerings in the shop(bags, books, take-home kitchen goods) with an appetite for more. Their housemade scones are of epic proportions and a satisfying accompaniment to a decadent cup of Yorkshire tea. The veggie stand out front is a quaint sight and a welcome provision in the middle of the city. Their menu looked inviting and the food passing by was standout. It is more than a café but less than a restaurant — a perfect respite post-Tate Modern or to get your energy up pre-Thames walk. Can’t wait to return!

I’ve stopped in a few times for a lunch takeaway. It’s a decent sized café with outside seating in good weather. It’s also a shop with cookies/biscuits, sweets/candy, cheese and crackers available. If you’re just stopping for a lunch to go, they have pre-made sandwiches — a few pretty standard ones to choose from like ham and cheese — all on their own white bread. It all makes for a very upscale casual spot to pick up a few bits for a dinner party or meet a friend for brunch. For the price though I haven’t been super impressed with what I’ve gotten. Recently I picked up a slice of one of many awesome looking fresh cakes — the mocha walnut. It took quite a while for the cashier to take it to kitchen and get it cut and packaged up — so long that I felt bad for even ordering it as the line of people trying to get sandwiches and get on with their day kept growing. It was £3 for the slice because I didn’t eat in, £2 otherwise. I was so, so disappointed in it though. It was super dry and the cake itself was not flavourful. The icing was good texture, very light and creamy but just tasted like sugar, not really like anything else. Man, it looked so good though! Cute place, and loads of unique gift-able things to buy for foodies in your life, but don’t get your hopes too high for the food…

I walked past a dozen times without recognising this as a twin of one of my favourite places … probably because there is hardly a resemblance. While the Albion I know and love is the perfect neighbourhood café in a period building in Shoreditch, this one’s located in an eye sore of a building that sprung up behind Tate Modern. I am here only because the gallery ’ s own cafés are all closed — time to kill until my art talk starts. Funny how I feel resentful about the pricing here(£2 extra for having your cake and eat it on site!) when I am very likely to have paid the same at the original. Saved me from sinning — red velvet and carot cakes very tempting even after sunset. I feel mean for giving three stars only based mainly on location, but hey …

I came here with a bunch of friends for lunch. The first thing that was a bit annoying is that they stopped serving breakfast/brunch at 12h30. Disappointing but I ended up with a pumpkin and spinach bake which was mouthwatering. It was so delicious that 3 of my friends ended up getting it too when they tasted mine. The servers were friendly and smiley. Lovely setting with lots of light and chilled out vibe.
