Popped in for a quick takeaway cappuccino and was delighted by how fantastic it was… coming from Seattle, which is the coffee capital of the US, I was impressed! A perfect stop before your stroll through Hyde Park!

If you’re looking for food by the Lancaster London hotel, there aren’t a lot of options! Bathurst Deli is the only one I found where I could grab a quick bite. Maybe I just chose luckily, but my sandwich was one of the best I’ve had in ages. Seriously delicious, and I might even go back even though it’s not anywhere near my usual routine. I didn’t want a sandwich with meat, which is most of the default options, and so it turns out you can pick your bread, cheese, and marinated vegetables, and then they(optionally) toast it for you(recommended). For bread, the brown baguette was an excellent choice. The cookie I got was fine, nothing special, a little on the sweet side. Communication with the girl behind the counter was… trying. She seemed very flustered at the concept of a non-meat sandwich, seemed very surprised at my choice of cheese, and did not seem perfectly comfortable in English. Eventually we figured it all out, but it was a little stressful. The owner(I presume) was very nice and seemed on top of everything.

Very decent place for a full English on a weekend(£5.95, includes tea or coffee). They even made my bacon extra crispy after some friendly coercing.

Excellent coffee shop for morning. Having visited this area for a week and searched for a nice coffee deli, finally came up to this. This shop serves very nice chocolate croissant.

Delightful local deli served us English breakfast, healthy yogurt, and fresh fruit each morning of our holiday. Always pleasant and helpful, the owners also packed us delicious sandwiches for our excursions. We brought in our group of four adults and six kids every morning. They are small but accommodating.

Pretty dependable for coffee, cheese, antipasti and wine. Great to have in my neighborhood and frankly it did have an effect on deciding to live in this area, since there isn’t a coffee shop/deli very nearby(by nearby i mean less than a 5 minute walk away). The baked goods on the other hand are definitely not made in the store, and the cakes all look store bought. Doesn’t help that I’ve seen them cooking bacon on a George Foreman type grill right next to the coffee machines, which is pretty nasty. That being said, I just stay away from that stuff and am pretty happy to have it in my hood.

perfect for cheese and wine fans. the owner and servers are french — what do you expect? i really appreciate how i can pick up a bottle of good wine that i can’t find at a grocery store or wine shop. i go there at least 1/week to get the breaded chicken(throw it on my homemade salad). they’re always huge pieces and yummy. it also helps that they never judge me for rolling out of bed and walking in with my dog to order a latte to take on our morning visit to the park.

Enjoyed some pressed sandwiches there(their cheese selection is terrific). Totally convenient to Hyde Park for picnics and I guess they get a lot of traffic from the Lancaster London hotel.

Bathurst Street is a little nook by Lancaster Gate tube stop. I guess this place used to be the YN Emporium, and from pictures I saw, YN Emporium had a bit more edge. This place is quaint. When you walk in there is a counter to your left with pastries, cheeses, charcuterie and other goodies. To your left are wine racks with many(but not all) of the wines having little descriptor cards. They have an eat-in /take away menu with quiches, tortilla, etc. In the back are tables and a nice sofa and table – it definitely has a mismatched antique feel and almost tries to feel a bit French. My Illy latte was disappointing as was the chocolate muffin. Music was kind of odd – some Beatles and Rolling Stones, but not really fitting the atmosphere. They are open late – I think it said 10:30 on Sunday eve. Is that possible? I did bring home two bottles of wine though and am excited to soon uncork!
