Have eaten here several times over the years when I’m in London. Great location, great food, friendly staff!

I loved the place. Authentic English pub favored by the locals, and their food was solid! Our fish pie and chicken pie were both hearty and delicious! What a great way of enjoying my last lunch in London!

Loved this place! We’re tourists from America but we wanted to find the more authentic side of London pubs. This place was the answer to our prayers! Not only are their pies to die for(I had the fish pie and haven’t stopped dreaming about it since) but they have great ales as well. I had the Honeydew and once I got back to my hotel I immediately googled whether or not it was available in the states. Keep in mind that this is a pub so customer service isn’t the best but everyone was friendly and our food came pretty quick. Bathrooms were clean and easy to locate. Loved the ambiance of the place– very cosy! Also be prepared to show proof of age. Loved this place, was definitely a great taste of London comfort food!!!

Our first time to London(from Seattle) and were delighted to find this place in the neighborhood of our hotel — who says British food isn’t good? Great food — great service.

Ugh, worst cider ever. Horrible service. Don’t go here. I actually want a refund. If you offer a crappy product, let the customer know. If they return the drinks completely sans one sip, refund them or offer something else. After talking with the bartender and expressing my disappointment she offered no solution and after returning the horrible beers they didn’t offer any compensation despite the high price. I’m so disappointed.

Been at the Blackbird for the first time 19 years ago at the very beginning of my travel career, and am happy to be back and find the main aspects of the pub unchanged. Fuller’s London Pride on tap, and an interesting and tasty take on Bangers n’ Mash, featuring onion rings on top of the spiral-twirled sausage. Like the atmosphere, and location. Perhaps a little commercial, but still a phenomenal local pub.

Fabulous neighborhood Fullers Pub pleasing to locals, business folks, and tourists. Take the time to get to know the staff and the managers – very friendly and welcoming elevating this location to a new favorite.

I had lunch here while in town for Rugby World Cup. The traditional battered cod & chips was fantastic: juicy, crispy, non-oily awesomeness. The bar is very roomy as well with plenty of seating. It gets busy after work.

I really enjoyed my meal here. I had wild mushroom soup — large portion served with toast and good butter. Then the chicken and ham hock pie, which makes all other chicken pies look, well… worse. I have no idea how they make the crust so fluffy, crisp and tasty, but this is surely a British art form. The London’s Pride Ale was just right with this and served cool, but not too cold. Great meal and pleasant, inviting atmosphere. I’ll have a difficult time not going back for the fish and chips though…

Great place! Came here as I was staying at the hotel indigo around the corner. Beer was cold, food was delicious and there was a good singer playing some tunes. Had the fish n chips and wife had the pie sampler– both delicious.

We were looking for a restaurant with gluten free choices due to celiacs, and this was near by. It didn’t end of having a lot of options unfortunately, but I did order the trout. It was delicious! Cooked perfectly on mashed potatoes with some sort of bean on top in a cream sauce. My bf ordered the fish and chips and he enjoyed it very much. They also carried frontier beer which he came to love in London. They become fairly busy when we rolled in and there were only 3 ladies attending he tables and bar, so the wait for food and drinks was longer than I would like. But luckily we weren’t in a hurry.

I dream about the pies and mash from this place every single night. Flaky crusts, tender bits of meat, rich sauces… Okay, I’m now openly salivating. Great food, combined with the amazing Fullers ales on tap… I’m pretty much ruined for any other pub. Very cosy too, with lots of squashy armchairs. Blackbird 4-eva.

Booked via Unilocal and arrived 15 min late. We were seated after some confusion which was mostly my issue for turning up late. Staff friendly and attentive in what is a small gastro pub that is very busy. The pies are simply outstanding and I cannot remember having such a flavoursome filling inside a puffy crisp pie case. They serve real ales here to go with your pie. Glad I found here and we’ll worth a stop

Pub top!

It was so nice we went there for dinner twice during our three-day stay in London! + Lively atmosphere, even on a Monday and Tuesday night. + Nicest bartenders. One even offered up a nice sized sample of one of the beers before I decided to order it. + Excellent selection of local beers & ciders(Blackbird is part of the Fuller’s family of pubs). + Delicious pies! Both nights I ordered up the chicken and ham hock pie. Like other pubs it was served with mashed potatoes and veggies and was sooo good. + Short walk from our hotel in Kensington( ) but really close to the Earl’s Court tube station too.

Had a great dinner at this pub. They were pretty busy, but I wasn’t ignored when I tried to flag someone down to order. Had chicken, ham hock & Fuller’s pie with mashed potato and some shredded steamed veg, plus a proper pint of London Pride(two, actually!). It was fantastic. Total was £20. Not a quiet pub. Kinda noisy, actually. But still good.

Enjoyed fish and chips here while in London. I’m not much for fried food, but it was London so we kind of had to do it(once). The generous piece of fish was well prepared and not super greasy and was very enjoyable. Unfortunately the chips were also really good so I had to eat pretty much all of those as well. The ambiance was pleasant. The waitress was outstanding — my energy level is pretty high and I have no idea where she gets hers. She was attentive, funny, friendly and way way too busy, yet completely held everything together and provided a great experience. We stayed in the neighborhood and this was a great choice.

This is a good neighborhood pub with solid food. I have been here several times, both for drinks and lunch and would definitely come back if I’m in the area. A nice thing about this place is that if you go for food, you have the option of sitting in the front, which is a typical pub-type space, or in the back where they have regular tables to sit at. As far as convenience goes, it’s quite close to the Earl’s Court type station, so that makes it a good place to meet if someone is coming by public transportation.

They don’t mess around with their selection of pies. They have quite a unique listing and we tried the lamb & seafood. Both were flavorful & tasty. We also tried the chorizo and spicy squid — chorizo was yum! Squid was pretty avg. also tried the toffee pudding for dessert & the sauce was quite tasty. Service can be slow but that appears to be the norm here. The food is prepared well & environ is charming.

Okay, look-we try to be healthy, we really do… but when you’ve got The Blackbird Ales & Pies offering British comfort food right next to where you are staying, why seek out a salad? Great selection of ales… and duh, PIES. Friggin’ delicious, fresh, piping hot pies. Can’t choose? Get the pie board with a samples of every pie made and go from there. And then, if your tourist gut hasn’t busted into its own city-state as yet, order the sticky toffee for pud. Malty with ale and caramel, how can you NOT? Dag. Oozing ourselves back into the clothes we packed for our plane hop back across the pond tomorrow will surely by tricky, but worth it!
