Maybe suffers from being a bit big for it’s out of the way location. I’ve never seen it packed but this does mean you can always get a seat with plenty of room for large groups to crowd round one of the many tables. The food is pretty good, nothing to extravagant but mainly pub basics done well. In the summer they fire up the bbq in the large garden. Good selection of drinks and the only pub I’ve been to with table tennis in the bar, you can’t argue with that. Not necessarily a destination pub but a good local boozer.

Went for lunch on the weekend. First noticed the beautiful atmosphere — high ceilings with stained glass, a lovely mix of interesting antique oak tables and chairs comfortably spaced apart, intimate alcoves, the kind of welcoming spot one would be comfortable alone or with a group. By far the cleanest, freshest, most attractive place in the vicinity for several blocks. Second big plus: the food. Caesar Salad with Chicken and Bacon was over-the-top great: a large meal-sized salad, well-tossed with wonderful creamy dressing, topped with a pile of moist, delicious chicken, plus another pile of thick-cut ham pieces. Couldn’t even finish it, had to bring some home. All at the price most places charge for skimpy Caesar with dry chicken and watery dressing. There was confusion over the Veggie Burger we ordered: the menu says«Veggie Burger with mushrooms, zuccini, eggplant, tomato, cheese» etc. but it turned out to be a big bun with just the vegetables and melted cheese, no burger. They were very apologetic about the misunderstanding but ought to fix the menu. Service was very friendly and efficient; the wait staff look like they enjoy working there, which is of course good for the atmosphere. They also have a generous frequent-diner punch card program.

A very roomy, clean and comfortable feel to this impressive looking pub in the quieter end of Fulham. I am told that is used by neighbours and residents especially at the weekend. Children friendly with a nice area our back. Much was expected of this long time in the coming re-opening, so is it up to scratch. Refurb: On the refurb side –yes it does, It looks imposing from the outside and it has been done up well on the inside, lots of space that is going to need to be filled by bum’s on seats. Good garden area for the summer. Beer: Good selection of beers and wines and generally well kept — fridges need to be colder though Food: Nothing mind blowing on the menu, typical of all the gastro pubs in and around London these days, so what does it do different ? Entertainment: no Football, I think they are trying to discourage this but are playing rugby games(clue ?) Staff: ummm, a bit non English speaking — this will cause problems. Opinion: Great pub if they can fill it and maybe need some more friendly /communicative staff.
