I cannot compare this Co-operative with any other Co-operative since this is the only one I’ve shopped. It was a block from where we spent an Islington week and the easiest place to shop. We did the first stocking of our kitchen pantry for 17 pounds, buying what we buy at home in Phoenix, Arizona. The cost was about the same. Evaluating further, another 35 pounds were spent. This included all necessary paper products, a few more food items, and things we’d never buy at home but decided to try. We ended up leaving the flat well-stocked with essentials, had more than enough when we ate at home. We were very pleased with the prices and products at this Co-operative.

I’ve been in much better Co-op’s elsewhere. This location is cramped, not well-stocked(esp. at night) and the layout is surprisingly random. Items like butter and cream cheese are directly across from the tills(making them difficult to access at busy times) while all other refrigerated items are at the other end of the store. One exception? The staff manning the tills were very fast, and the system set up moves people in and out quickly. I’d still visit this store over the Sainsbury’s Local nearby, but it’d be nice if there were a larger supermarket in the area around the Old Street Tube station.
