Love this Waitrose! Store is huge and has an extremely wide selection. Great produce and meats as well and efficient check out keeps crowds on weeknight evenings moving well. Definitely worth the walk from my flat in Clerkenwell!

This store is HUGE! Deceptively so given it’s location at the end of white cross street, surrounded by small food stores and boutique shops. I’ve been in here a few times when I’ve fancied a cheaper lunch than that offered on the street itself. Every time i’ve been in there the staff have been lovely, courteous and patient(which is a surprise considering some of the rude lunch crowd they get through). I normally do my ‘side shopping’ at the Co-Op on old street itself, but since that store is closed at the moment for refurbishment I ventured a bit ‘up market’ and I have to say, I’m glad I did. The selection of food, fruit and veg on offer is staggering in comparison to the co-op. Everything I’ve eaten from here has been faultless, which is surprising considering the first sandwich I bought was a cheese and celery(It sounds weird but I couldn’t resist). One thing that suprised me was definitely the price, it was my misconception that Waitrose was very expensive when compared to other retailers. OHHOWWRONG I WAS! On the items i bought(sandwiches, fruit and other nic-nacs) Waitrose was consistently the same price or cheaper than it’s counterparts. Need I say, I’m definitely shopping here again and I reccommend you do to!

This supermarket has evolved from Safeway to Morrisons to Somerfield to Waitrose over the last 15 years — I have used all the flavours at some point and this is by far the tastiest. There is something about the way the John Lewis Group run their business that really brings out the best in their staff. A number here have remained through the changes and have grown to be helpful and courteous — it really is a pleasure to shop here. Its larger than the St John’s Street branch and better stocked though I still prefer the Holloway branch as it has a much better butcher and fish counter. The Barbican branch is walking distance for me which has a big appeal and if you time it right you can pick up lunch from the rather fabulous Whitecross Street Food market and coffee from Fix

Believe it or not, the proximity to this Waitrose weighed heavily in my decision to move into my flat. Not a deal breaker by any means still having access to a great grocery was very important. This one’s a little bigger than the St John Street Waitrose where I’d become accustomed to shopping … which is awesome. I absolutely love the rotisserie chicken(excellent value for money and delicious too). There’s decent fresh baked bread … yadda yadda yadda(I’m sure you know the Waitrose score — and if you don’t well check ‘em out: they have good employment policies and offer a much better range of products than you’re apt to find at any of the other chain supermarkets). The Waitrose is a helluvalot better than the vast majority of food shopping options nearby. Employees here are pretty friendly and super helpful. And it’s just a short stroll(through the the park) from my flat. Yay.

Ah sweet waitrose, when you absolutely have to have fresh oregano or some unusual middle class spice or your dinner party will be ruined you can trust in it. The Barbican waitrose is a hidden jewel in the waitrose diadem as it nestles amongst the concrete walkways of the Barbican in the midst of the City and has everything you might need at a price point which makes you think, yes, I am a young professional.

This is the best supermarket near the City part of London by a mile! Put simply — it has everything you might need and then most of what you might want. Have stopped using online delivery services since I found this place(its actually quite well hidden, for a massive supermarket!).

This is the furthest of the grocery stores local to me, yet I always end up here when I’m shopping. Simply put, this store has all the items I’m looking for, while my other local shops always fail me. I used to go to three stores, always ending up here, but now I just head straight for Waitrose to save myself some time. I’m a huge fan of their whole organic chickens. One chicken will last you all week, and if you use the leftovers to make soup, you’ll have a very flavorful broth. It’s not the cheapest grocery store, but then you don’t have to buy three big containers of laundry liquid home to get a good deal either. They do have all the basics(milk, bread, veg) and those are actually comparably priced with the other chains. They really do have whatever I’m usually looking for and they even had an American display for thanksgiving, including tinned pumpkin, poptarts and condensed milk. Their meat counter people are very knowledgable and they do cut up roasts if you don’t want a huge one. I’ve had quite good luck with their cheaper wines too. It’s worthwhile stopping by, especially if you’re having trouble finding a special ingredient.
