Run by a non-entity of a landlord who is as miserable as hell with a wife in a horror mask. beer expensive and food unremarkable. better off in the Toby down the Road. We too won the quiz and the Landlord got the hump because we do not go in that regular.

Great beer on tap, friendly bar staff and a welcoming atmosphere — and in a great location. I have had many a pint here and will continue to do so.

This is an interesting little pub. Apparently it used to be one of Winston Churchill’s watering holes. His old house is situated across the road along with a great statue of him. This pub is cosy and very traditional with its wood panelling. They serve some lovely draught ale. I have only ever been here during the day but it seems ever popular at night. Never had any food but it does look good. So if you fancy a good pint and a bit of history then give it a try.

A reasonable pub on the High Road, with a regualar clientele, who don’t always take to visitors. We won the pub quiz one night, and were asked not to return for a while. It’s a good place to call into after a game of(guess what?) on Woodford common. Beer is unremakable, and the service adequate.

This is a really good pub with friendly staff. The food is good and children are welcome, even though the food may not be particularly aimed at children. It can also get very rowdy on thurs/fri/sat nights so I’d watch out. Good for an afternoon drink though :)

Not a young persons place, it has good beer and is relaxed. This place has a car park not a garden, but you can sit outside and watch people get in their cars and wonder how much they’ve drunk. It doesn’t seem children friendly to me, I’m sure some of the regulars would prefer to either eat babies or sit on them.
