I was introduced to dr. Martens way back in the 90’s. Yes I had seen the hipster crowd going around san Francisco in this brand. But I was wandering around and ran into the museum for them. I got a kick out of the fact that these shoes were originally designed for the orthopedic crowd. Anyways the museum had a display of all there brands I had only seen the ones that looked like army boots which didn’t appeal to me back in the states I did get a pair of hiking boots and to this day still use them

Doc Martens, I love you always and forever. Even if the company’s changed hands. Even if punk rock isn’t what it used to be. I love my twenty eyelets that I’ve had for years and years and they’ve always stood by me. Prices are moderate to pricey, but the shoes are so worth it. After your shoes are broken in, there’s no turning back. They really know their stuff — strong and tough. I’ve trampled and stomped my way around town in these babies.(Should I mention that I have five pairs of Docs since my teenage years? Yes. And I still got ‘em.)

Since Dr. Martens sold out and shipped their production lines from the UK to Thailand a few years back, they really shouldn’t still trade off that Union Jack tag. But ‘Docs’ are still remarkably resilient and comfortable shoes. The outsourcing has also helped their always higher-end prices stay the right side of sane. This outlet of theirs has obviously cottoned on to the fact that Airwair soles seem to be cool again. The music is loud and trendy and R Brand-esque distressed dos rather than mohicans proliferate among the staff. They are genuinely nice and helpful though. I had just finished buying my new pair of brown leather boots and was just about to run out splashing in puddles when the manager told me to keep the boots indoors for a couple of days before the leather adjusted to my feet, just in case they were too big or small. Lo and behold, two days later I needed to come back and get a size bigger. Expert advice!
