The fish and chips here were so good, we went back the next day. Not greasy at all, and very tasty. This pub is what you picture in your mind when someone talks about a British pub. Good beer choices, nice service. We had kids with us, but without them, I could see spending an afternoon here, trying beers and just enjoying the atmosphere.

This pub is kinda a so so one for me. We went for a Christmas lunch earlier and it was just ok. We had made a reservation so got a decent sized table, but despite it being quite empty, it took a 30⁄40 mins for the food to come and they had ran out of all meat except chicken, which for me wasn’t a big deal, but was a bit disappointing for my friends. Price wise it was between £9-£14 for a main course, which for a pub I think is a little steep. Wine was standard price for central London, £5 ish pound for a 175ml. Food wise, I got sea bass and it was just ok. Not bad, but not a stand out dish to make me run back. The gin and tonic sauce didn’t work at all. Interesting on paper, but didn’t live up to its promise. I’ve been before for drinks in the bar downstairs and had a good time, so I’d probably say if you’re coming, just come for drinks.

Me and my wife both had the Fish and Chips, best i have had. Service has very good. Asked for more Tarter sauce, it came after i had finished my fish. That’s the only reason that i did not give 5 stars

More or less a spontaneous visit for me since I just happened to walk by and I gotta say I was kinda suprised. I was craving a beer and some fish&chips and that was what I went for. They offer a variety of beer, all of em draught, I decided to go for some Amber Ale which was quite nice. Adding to that fish & chips, which was very tasty aswell, paid ~15pounds for the package. I don’t have that much comparism when it comes to London prices nor to fish & chips, but I definately enjoyed the place, friendly service and tasty food !

Right next to conrad. Convenient location and friendly staff. I only had a quick lunch here but it was memorable. They have a great selection of draught beers. We split a large fish and chips platter. The cod was some of the freshest and biggest I’ve had. Extremely fresh and flaky with a light batter that lets the fish come through. Excellent tarter on the side and mashed peas. I recommend the £2.50 upcharge for a large platter rather that ordering two full entrees if you want to share. Tourists take note: if you want to sit in the area around the bar(not the main dining room) then you must go to the bar, place your order, and pay. They will bring the food to your table. This save you the frustration of waiting for a server that’s never gonna come take your order.

Good food, great beer, fun ambiance. Upstairs is great for kids. In addition to great beers they had amazing ciders my wife loved. Service was very good as well, definitely recommend!

Nice pub, next to the Conrad Hotel. A fair selection of cask ales. A great interior with many Victorian era aspects. Advice is friendly and fast. Food is also good.

Popped into the feathers for a few drinks after going to a Commendation ceremony at New Scotland Yard. It had a great atmosphere. It was very busy, but the bar staff were quick and attentive. They had a large selecvtion of beers, which was good. Only complaint from one of the females in the group, was that they only sold Prosecco by the vbottle and not the glass. It’s a large pub with an onld traditional feel to it, with nice high ceilings. I would definately go back!

KIDFRIENDLY Pub! WHAAAT!!! I’m gettin’ the chance to enjoy an English tradition with THEWHOLEFAMILY!!! Love it!(Not that I saw a bunch of rugrats runnin’ rampant. Just us and another family at the time.) After a jaunt through the Houses of Parliament, our British cousin recommended this spot for lunch because of its close proximity to the St. James Underground Station, and the family friendly environment it offered. Cool dark wood interior with high ceilings and well-lighted au naturel. Despite al the hustle and bustle goin’ on we were able to secure a booth quite easily. No table service, so we ordered at the bar and the grub was delivered to our table. No kiddie choices but that was easily ameliorated by sharing a few plates. We sampled a few items… *IBERIANBLACKPIG&APPLEBURGER: Not some ground up meat patty, but rather a pork cutlet of good size that was moist and flavorful. Supposedly there’s a graininess you’re supposed to sense with Iberian pig being acorn-fed, but I didn’t get that. Topped with chorizo and apples, it was a nice change to the standard burger. Crisp chips came with it. *VEGETABLEBURGER: Excellent veggie option! Made with spiced aubergine, red pepper, sweet corn, and chickpeas, the patty was thick with a solid consistency. Very appealing taste. Topped with tomato salsa and cheddar cheese, I actually liked this more than the Iberian Pig. Chips were thick but crisp. *FISH&CHIPS: Crunchy batter covering moist fish. Ample serving of thick crisp chips. The young squires enjoyed it. *CRISPYCALAMARI: All«circles» and no tentacles and the batter was actually quite crispy. Only slightly rubbery. Rather than a cocktail sauce, it’s served with tartare sauce. *SIDEOFMACARONE&CHEESE: Small bowl was a perfect for size for kids. Munchkin chowed down on it, happily. *SIDEOFHOMEMADEONIONRINGS: The batter here was thick and bready, not so crunchy. A little on the greasy side. Great pub for the family, at least during lunch when we ventured in. RIGHTO, Cousin Sherwills!!! BIG props for this tasty find!!!(And, of course, all the love you showered us with, too!) Food came out promptly, and any errors were remedied in our favor. Friendly service all the way around and clean WC’s.

Went in here because it was right next to our hotel and had decent reviews. I’ll say my experience may not have been typical but it was 8:30 pm on a Friday night. Plenty of people outside on the sidewalk drinking. They have a dining room upstairs which was closed. No one greeted us upon arriving, it was unclear where to sit. We asked at the bar and a young lady said order at the bar. We went to find a seat first. There was a sign posted up saying the area was reserved. We found menus, selected our entrees, and went back up to the bar and ordered. Luckily they bring the food to you but if you need anything including more drinks you have to go back to the bar. The food itself was average at best. Not bad, But not great. However, the odd service and self service, coupled with so-so food make it pretty unremarkable. Perhaps we were just there on an odd day. We won’t be back.

Decent pub. Always full of after work guys so can be a bit crowded, but good range of beer and ales and better than average wine list.

The beer wasn’t special, but the food was ok. Chicken and mushroom pie was very good. Steak frites was thin and overcooked. Desserts were delicious. Part of the Nicholsons chain, so many other pubs in town have the same menu.

It’s a really nice pub but I did not really enjoyed my stay because it’s of those types that have all the furniture and respectively — customers crammed in the small place that they have managed to rent out. I know that most of the shops in London are like that but that doesn’t mean I have to like it. The pub, on the other hand is quite nice, with a nice bar and some delicious meals. Food is good, as far as the low-ish prices let it be, if you know what I mean.

Great solid pub food. We stayed at St. Ermin which was extremely close to Feathers. The staff was very friendly and the food was delicious. We ate here twice because we liked the food so much. I had the veggie burger the first time, and then had one of the specials the second time which was a spinach, ricotta, phyllo dough dish. They were both great! We ordered fries both times… the first time they were out of this world, the second time they were boring. Not sure what happened??? The only reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 was because of the bad music that was playing while we ate and the inconsistency in the fries.

Just disappointing. Based on the looks and location thought the food would be decent. Not so. Service was great. Atmosphere good. Had the steak frites and the steak salad and they did not reach mediocre in basic qualities. Try the pub and the ale

I went in here on a Sunday afternoon about 12ish to kill a little time whilst waiting for a 2pm booking of afternoon tea at St Ermines hotel which is just round the corner. There’s was 6 of us in total. As it was a Sunday the local area seemed like a bit of a ghost town as it’s mainly financial/business. Upon walking into the pub it was pretty much the same, dead. The interior is quite nice and has a classic sort of feel and it was nicely decorated with Christmas decorations. We order 6 coffees and begrudgingly off she went. Some time later she returned. We had drunk the coffee’s and as we still had some time to kill we thought we’d have another. After returning before we’d even said a word she said«You’re not ordering more coffee are you» in fact we were. We found this extremely rude and she obviously was not happy about having to do more than pull a pint. Some of the group wanted bloody Mary’s and thankfully for her they had ran out of tomato juice. We ordered a draught beer as an alternative and they were out of our choice in beer too. She had just forgotten to remove the plaque or turn it round like the others than had expired. In all the experience was not very nice and I would certainly not recommend going here on a Sunday.

I’ve popped in here a few times for Friday lunch. Nice ales and lagers, comfy chairs and a traditional décor with plenty of brass to be seen. The real reason to come here however are the sausages, which, as part of their bangers and mash, are easily among the best in the area.

Not really much to share about The Feather… I didn’t buy my drink, so I don’t know if their prices are reasonable. I didn’t go to the bar, so I don’t know what they have on tap. I did enjoy my glass of white, so I’ll presume they have a good wine list. I did go to the ladies, so I know that they are downstairs. I will go again if I’m in the St James’ area. I will inform you that you need the Scotland Yard exit not the Victoria/Palmer Street one.

Nicholson’s pub situated right next to New Scotland Yard providing a good selection of ale and a decent range of traditional pub grub all at reasonable prices. Nicely laid out with a more drinking focused area at the front while the back is a bit mire foodie. The Doom Bar on tap today has been well kept and is drinking very well. Given the location you can guess the crowd. Gets very busy after work. 6⁄10 Honest boozer but not worth seeking out unless you are in the area
