absolutely the worst restaurant we have ever been to! the food was cold, the service abysmal & the staff very rude, they even expected us to eat what was left after our meal was given to somebody else in error!

I enjoyed my visit here. Good portion sizes, tasty and nice atmostphere. We enjoyed a set menu with wine. Came quick but not rushed.

In London for some personal business for a couple of days and I wanted to have a full stomach for a small amount of money. I was in London before and I had a horrible time with the rude locals and the only thing I remember that was pleasant was the people in Chinatown. So my friends and I headed over to Chinatown for some dinner. When we walked by this place, we saw the menu and was impressed that they offered 5 dishes for 30GBP. 10GBP per person was a deal! When we sat down, the Chinese lady came over and sat with us and talked to us for a little. We chit chatted and she told us she loved Americans. I found it funny that she thought that NYC was expensive and she thought it was funny that we thought that London was more expensive than NYC. She also had a little crush on my friend, so the lady would grab on him and wanted to come back and visit her. The food was good for the price and was very filling. It came out hot and the portions was big for Europe. It taste like something I would make at home, so I enjoyed it very much because I was missing home even though I wasn’t in London for very long. Rice with a soup, and 3 stir fried items.

Really small portions that don’t taste like anything special. Rip-off for the price and service ironically wasn’t that friendly! Disappointed.

The friendly inn has been under the ownership of the adorable Fa for 25 years. It is a small friendly unpretentious place serving quick good value Chinese food to a long time loyal clientele as well as passing trade. We had prawn crackers, mixed starters, 2 soups, ¼ Peking duck, salt and chilli squid(utterly divine), prawns and cashew nuts, brocoli and tofu and mushroom chow mein. House wine is £2−60 a glass or £10 a bottle. We went mad with a £12 bottle of wine and it was £55 in total for the 2 of us. It is great value. This place is clean and fast. Does not open for lunch but often open late. With all the new places in china town this is like bumping into an old friend who hasn’t changed a bit and is as charming and welcomming as ever

After some late night drinking with a friend both of us were feeling hungry. We were in Chinatown and the Friendly Inn was open and seemed to have something of a passing trade with drunkards so we decided to try it out. It is a small, well-cared for restaurant. We were quickly seated between two rather rowdy tables. I’ve always imagined it must be fairly soul-destroying to work in this kind of atmosphere, but whilst the staff weren’t ebullient, they were pleasant and attentive. I had tempura prawns which were well done with a good light batter. My friend had the sweet and sour chicken which he said was also good. The price for both was very reasonable. The Friendly Inn is a pleasant place that is a good option for a late night meal.

Friendly Inn is a cheap, lively Chinese restaurant on the edge of ChinaTown. There are usually set mela deals for around £6.00. I had the first set meal which included chicken sweetcorn soup and sweet and sour pork which was all tasty and served quickly. My girlfriend had beef in black bean sauce with noodles and shredded duck. Her food was even better than mine. Friendly Inn is an ideal place to have a late lunch if you have been walking around. It isn’t like some of the more expensive gourmet Chinese restaurants you can find in Chinatown but as a simple cheap place to eat it is great
