Late xmas drinks and had fun playing scrabble in the dungeon. Our bar hostess Jo was beautifully amazing and served up our drinks on the spot

Solid food and beers in a cozy pub ambience. I ordered a golden ale, which I really liked. My bf’s ale(a different kind) was unique and good as well. On my second visit, some of my friends ordered fish and chips, which was well presented and tasty. In general, you can’t really go wrong with any choice. Space is not too big but just right for a neighbourhood like Pimlico. They seemed to have upstairs as well which I’d like to try next time. Service is generally good — nothing too special nor off. You have to order and pay at the bar in advance, so don’t go if you’re expecting service at the table. I think this place will easily become my go-to pub, especially given its convenient location right across the tube station.

very nice bar/pub — excellent selection of(craft) beers and good music, although it can be a bit noisy at times. Food is quite good for a bar — some nice nibbles and sharers — but for dinner you’ll prob find better options around. very nice staff

Really lovely bar! This is a lovely venue perfectly sized. The crowd is friendly and hip with staff that compliment the scene. The drinks menu is impressive, however the most impressive bit was the whiskey selection! The best I’ve seen for sometime, no not just posh expensive brands but really quirky choices.

Always a great night at the gallery, a date, catch up with an old friend or a birthday drinks session with 20 mates it is always a good night! The staff can sometimes be a bit rude but the atmosphere in general and worth the occasional rudeness! Food is great too!

This certainly was my Unilocal find of 2014(thanks Unilocalers!). Looking for a place in W. Hampstead to grab a drink with a friend your reviews convinced me I should check out The Gallery, and you didn’t disappoint. As the name suggests, the place has a double height ceiling with a gallery overlooking the bar area. This gives it a nice lofty feeling when you’re at the bar. And at the gallery you can withdraw with your date(or a group of friends) for a more intimate lounge experience. There is also a downstairs section which has been empty every time I’ve been there but I guess it could make a great venue for a larger group. But why would you want to be in the basement when the upstairs is so cool. I wish there were more places like this dotted around London.

The perfect neighbourhood bar with great atmosphere, good food and drink. Staff are a bit hit and miss — I have experienced both extremes from super-friendly and efficient to ignorant bordering on rude. Still, I will always come back for more as it’s just a great place overall. A bit too noisy at times which is a shame — not necessarily recommended for intimate dates.

Very solid place for evening drinks. Begins to get busy around 5. Basement is really cozy and usually not many people — perfect for a big group to chill on comfy leather couches. Service is great, bartenders are friendly. Food is better than typical pub fair. Drinks can get a bit pricey. Have wifi and it’s not busy for lunch so good to work during the day and nobody’s bothered. Great neighbourhood pub.

Surprisingly big inside, with a few seats uptairs on the balcony and a lot of comfy seats in the basement, plus the large ground floor. Good relaxing atmosphere, good selection on tap, plus reasonably priced vino. I also had the mint burger with sweet potato fries which unlike the one’s i try and make were lovely. Definitely worth popping in if you’re in the area.

Great staff, great Estrella on tap and you need, need, to have the minted lamb burger with the sweet potato fries, succulent, huge and easily the best combination of tastes I’ve had in a burger. Thoroughly recommended.

One of my least favourite things about a bar is if it’s too small. Having a drink is supposed to be a fun, social experience and when a place is too cramped(and people are shoving into you) or too loud(and you can’t chat with the person sitting directly across from you), it’s a giant fail. And while The Gallery looks like it might suffer from this depression as you walk by, walk in! It’s surprisingly large. Not only are there tables and standing room on the first floor, but there;s a balcony with more seating above and a whole new area downstairs with even more seating. What! Yes! I got a beer and an order or chips and both were solid — cold beer, tasty fries. What more could you want. It was a little busy on the weekend so service was a bit slow but it was fine to wait. My only strong complaint actually is that I wanted to sit on the balcony looking down. So I took my beer and my food and awkwardly made my way up the stairs and around some people already sitting there(and it’s a little tight so this was easier said than done) only to find that all the tables up there were reserved for a party. A little warning at the bottom of the stairs might have been kind so I didn’t have to travel all the way up, but what are you going to do. Overall, a great spot to stop for a drink.

My favourite local. Friendly staff(including Caesar the Doorman!) and good beer. They have Kirin Ichiban which is a personal favourite. Music at the weekends is always feel good singalong stuff. Great after a hard week.

Good food, fine selection of drinks, knowledgeable & attentive bar staff, comfortable surroundings, friendly & smart clientele. The list can go on for ages, but put simply the best bar in this area by far.

I came here for happy hour drinks and to celebrate a friend’s engagement. The happy hour drinks costs £4.50 each and ranged from Cosmos to Tequila sunrise. I indulged in a Tequila sunrise which was pleasently really strong! This place is surprisignly spacious. When I first arrived, I noticed the people sitting in the balcony areas and saw a few seats towards the back and concluded that it was quite a small venue. However, there is an entire area downstairs with lots of couches and a second bar. I didn’t eat anything here but a friend got a burger and it looked amazing. I’ll have to come back and try the food.

This place is ACE. It works for a quick post-work drink, as a starting point to greater things on a night out, as an all-night hangout catching up with friends or as a perfect place to take a date. Cosy in the winter, open and breezy in the summer. The atmosphere is comfortable and unpretentious and although the drinks are a bit pricey, I’d rather pay West Hampstead prices for my gin and tonic here than anywhere else the main street has to offer. Oh and 2 for 1 cocktails on a Thursday… can’t say fairer than that.

I like this place, bit of a regular and it never seems to let me down. Location might suggest it to be slightly up itself(if you catch my drift) Surrounded by expensive restaurants this little diamond continues to please. Menu is changed on a regular basis(tonight I had chicken and mushroom pie with mash and veg — very good!) and the chef even asked me what I thought as he was trying out this particular dish. Always greeted with a smile by the bar staff. Enough room to spread out whether your upstairs or down and easy to relax. Afternoons can be spent relaxing on a sofa with board games and a hot drink, whilst it gets more lively in the evening and is always buzzing. No doubt my favourite bar in the locality!

The Gallery’s sometimes a victim of its own success. The decent, well-priced food, interesting selection of lagers, good choice of ciders(Aspall’s — which is always a good sign), and location close to West Hampstead tube mean it is often rammed to bursting point. In that sense, it’s a shame the downstairs bar area is not better utilised(especially in winter) as it could really help to relieve some of the pressure upstairs and make going in more attractive. The comedy and quiz nights they host are always good fun and good value. Apart from how busy it gets the other downsides are the price(normally a bit more than other bars in the area) and the Friday and Saturday night clientele, which is sometimes a bit too cool for school. Best time to visit is probably a lazy Sunday afternoon pint in the summer when they have the front windows open and cricket on the big screen.

When I lived in West Hampstead, The Gallery was our regular hangout and meet-up place. It’s the quintessential neighbourhood bar. Definitely more of a bar than a pub, there are a handful of wooden tables and chairs downstairs, with a large sofa corner on a landing halfway up the stairs, and a few leather sofas and stools around some low tables on a raised section at the top, overlooking the downstairs. In warm weather they open the front windows and put a couple of tables out on the pavement. As the other reviews point out, there are some tasty beers on tap here, including Kirin, Red Stripe, and Erdinger. They’ll often have something a bit more unusual too: I remember banana beer for a while. No ales on tap, unfortunately. Mixed drinks are easily had, and they have a happy hour between 5 and 7pm most days. Food is good, although I rarely had more than bar snacks. Downstairs are several tables and a dining area, which I think only gets service in the evenings. It’s very popular in the neighbourhood, and will fill up with a young, good-looking crowd quickly every weekend night. Sunny weekend afternoon. In 2005, The Gallery came in at second place in the best local bar category for the LBC/Independent Living London Awards. I’m not sure if it’s continued to place since, or if those awards are still even held, but they made a big deal of it at the time. The staff there are very friendly, and as regulars we got to be quite chatty with them.

My new favourite place. A cosy bar, unpretentious, great section upstairs in the gallery(hence the name…) for private parties, tasty nibbles and more substantial meals, everyone is nice and always smiling.

Small cosy tables tucked away in corners, big comfy sofas in a lounge setting basement, great buzzy atmosphere on the ground floor, Amstel and Red Stripe on tap, good food — what more could you want from a local pub?
