I don’t make a habit of going in here and it’s very local, old timer regulars. Perfectly fine just not my cup of tea. Fair few ales and with the old décor it all matches.

This is the pub from my youth! Going out anywhere now always starts at the goose. Doubles and mixer are £2:25 which is always good when you can go out on a tenner. The staff are usually friendly and I find that there is always someone you know there. It is a bit of an older generations pub and you do get your fair share of weirdos but always a laugh.

The Goose, right opposite wood green tube has a better atmosphere than you would probably think. Being on the high road brings in new faces everyday and it is always full of the usual punters, mostly of the older generation, but it is like a community. I have always known of the pub, but only had my first encounter whilst waiting for someone to arrive at wood green station, I was half an hour early and thought to have a drink. The pub is massive, the size of a weatherspoons, and the bar itself is huge, with two side to be served from. Its traditional looking and cheap, they actually had doubles of any spirit for £2! So on my first visit, I didn’t go for a pint, and had a few classes of jd. The staff are friendly and its is always packed. It isn’t somewhere me and my friends go, but more like a place where ill stop off, purchase the evening standard from the booth outside and have a quick drink.
