Right on my door step and I love it. Great breki, lunches, evening meals. Always vibrant and busy. A wee bit pricey but worth it.

A nice, sophisticated pub on a quiet road in Hammersmith. I’ve been here a few times for drinks and once or twice for a meal. The atmosphere is lovely, you can sit outside, which is especially nice in the summertime, and the staff are very friendly too. Would definitely recommend!

The best steak in my life. Ever. Period. Argentinian, grass fed, rib eye steak(12oz) with Béarnaise sauce and the sweetest massive hand cut chips cooked to melt in the mouth perfection by the chef, Egor(sorry if it’s spelt wrong). My husband and I stopped talking and just absolutely savoured every mouthful. I’m a South African carnivore and my husband is a big Irish lump who loves his meat and we hadn’t tasted anything like it. Bravo!

The food was decent but we had to wait at least 45 minutes for it to finally come(which, when out for lunch during work, was a bit irritating). I had the ostrich fillet with Potato and Herb cake. I quite enjoyed it, however my coworkers’ dishes looked a bit less than appetizing. I had panna cotta to finish it off, and it was quite tasty as well – not an authentic Italian Panna Cotta, but good enough from a pub. The décor is an odd mediterranean vibe, not quite pub but not quite fully Italian restaurant. It is quite spacious, however. I don’t know, My food alone was quite good but there was just something not lined up about this place. I think the bad service just put me off.

Fantastic gastro pub with friendly and accommodating staff. Menu is varied and has something for everyone, whether its meat, fish or vegetarian and food portions more than ample. The wine list is well stocked too while beer and bitter is also available in draft too. Will recommend the rib eye steak and banofee pie although the menu is updated constantly. Great atmosphere and ambiance with an outside enclosed area too.

We don’t live far from here so pop in occasionally although have only eaten there twice. Don’t know why. It’s a nice place, you can sit outside and the food has been good when we’ve eaten. So we had a spare half hour and though we’d try it out. My boy ordered a lmargarita pizza. Can’t go wrong I think he thinks. Not any more though. Trade discriptions, i think we have a job for you. His ‘pizza’ was literally a slice of bread with a slice of melted cheese and 4 cherry tomatoes cut in half round the side. When I say literally I mean it. Not figuratively. Literally. What was funnier was that the nice waitress had recommended it! I had merguez sausages on toast with salad. What came was that. But the merguez sausages were tiny. The size of my little finger. And simply placed onto a dry piece of toast with some leaves around the edge. I wolfed it down before the miss us had even got her ceasar salad which was in truth not bad. My sausages were £6.95. I guarantee they were worth more than their weight in platinum and I thought hard before deciding not to collect them for resale when they came out the other end. The boys cheese on toast was also £6.95 although that came with ice cream. We had a drink each and the bill was knocking on £40. Sorry but when you think you can go somewhere as simple and charming as sufi and eat like a king for the same price then you know why I won’t be going back to eat there, although I will still go for a drink because it’s a nice pub. Stick to pulling pints guys, you’re good at that.

I had a wonderful little chicken-liver salad here: served warm, with chorizo and cherry tomatoes, in a wonderfully fiery liquor, it was a perfect light dish for a cold winter night. Unfortunately the cheese platter which followed was not so great: the cheeses themselves were fairly mediocre, and they were served far too cold so that what little flavour they had could not escape. The shop-bought crackers and mango chutney they were served with were perfectly adequate but, like the cheese, nothing to write home about. Friendly, attentive service and reasonable prices. The décor, with its peculiar lemon-and-lime paintings and hippy carved-sun mirrors, has a slight feel of 80s vegetarian café bohemia. Pleasant enough, if a bit odd, and the tightly regimented rows of wooden tables and chairs are slightly at odds with the whacky wall-ornamentation.

The menu changes often, the vegetarian dishes are always exceptional. The staff is very friendly. Wine options are nice and well priced.

The Grove is a reasonable local Bozer which retains some of it’s original Victorian features. However it desperately needs a make over, the«varied shades of green» décor appears very dated. Also I have never thought the food particularly good and some of the dishes are as expensive as Chez Kristof next door! Finally it’s very much an eating pub, they could do with a bit more bar space and some sofas to relax on.

The food is really nice, wholesome and good value and they have a very good wine list. But I think the décor is a little bit passé now and it would be nice to have a little refreshing of it. Lovely gastropub to have next door though!

The Grove is a great little restaurant bar serving modern European grub. A very continental feeling going on with the bare wood tables and floor, open kitchen, bar and large airy dining room. The food is the most consistant I have experienced in a while and so I keep going back. If I had to choose between Chez Kristoff on the opposite corner and The Grove(money no object) I honestly would plump for The Grove because of the easy vibe the do so well.

There is something about the Grove that reminds me of a relaxed Mediterranean holiday like atmosphere, it has those really high ceilings and open spaced dining area. Now as for the food I really recommend the rib-eye steak which I have with chips. The steak is cooked to perfection and is both very tasty and tender, and the chips are good too. The service is exceptionally friendly and very prompt. They also have a good organic selection here including wines which start at around 12.00 a bottle. There is also a nice outdoor seating area that spans the restaurant and they also have wifi access. I still think what makes the Grove stand out is the relaxed perfect atmosphere and the excellent steaks.

This place is a quiet relaxed pub, the sort of place you would go with friends to chill out over a leisurely lunch or dinner. A good place for a birthday celebration, a Friday night out or Sunday lunch with the papers Twice daily change of the menu keeps it interesting; starters included shredded duck salad, Thai style fishcakes or smoked haddock and lemon risotto. For the main course we had on offer Argentinean rib eye steak, organic salmon or a grilled marlin lion and many other interesting options. There is always something on there that you wouldn’t have had before and the menu is not typical gastro pub led. A good selection of drinks includes organic and non organic, al fresco dining, vegetarian options and a large area upstairs ideal for the party. It has received many accolades form the London food critics and they trade on a philosophy of consistency, quality, variety and service — I have to agree and say it is definitely above average.

A bright, welcoming gastropub with lots of tables and an open kitchen at the far end ought to be a delight, but my mushroom stroganoff was so chewy that I thought they’d used(not very tasty) beef and the bread and olive oil arrived after the main course, which isn’t the point. Pannacotta with an inoffensive fruit sauce was fine as was the apricot crumble but we left feeling vaguely displeased. It was £39 for two but as we only drank one glass of beer and one of cider between us, it seemed to be a lot.,

This cocktail bar is very special. You know the way it usually goes — there’s happy hour, 2 for 1 beers, half price cocktails. and for that you get? You don’t get the same cocktail you bought the night before. No, you get some variation of it with what seems to be endless cocktails with barely a drunken buzz. Well not this place! I have honestly never seen so much love go into cocktail making! These guys really put in the effort — happy hour or not. The downside to this is that it can take a while to get your drink, especially if you’ve ordered 7 mojito’s at once! And not only that — the bar staff are among the friendliest I’ve met in London, and they pub is actually quite cool. :)

This is quite a nice pub on Hammersmith Grove. Hammersmith Grove is the pretty street that links up Shepherd’s Bush with Hammersmith and is a keen locale for celeb houses, as well as a fancy restaurant(Chez Kristof) and a period costume hire shop. The Grove is a pleasant pub towards the Hammersmith end of the road. Done out mostly with wood furnishings. It does gastro pub food, but I’ve only ever been there for drinks, not food — but it looks alright if a little bit more expensive than what you’d usually pay in a pub. There’s quite a big wine list but one of the nicest features of The grove is the outdoor seating. Enclosed by small hedges it’s a lovely place to have a drink in the summer.

Great little gastro pub/brasserie tucked away in Hammersmith. Wooden table/benches, good varied menu. Worth a visit for a reasonable night out.
