Advertising happy hour specials until 8.30pm on a Saturday. It’s just past 8pm and the staff are refusing to honour the specials. They have a sign out the front and all the menus are put out to show these specials. There is nothing that says it’s only for weekdays. False advertising. Snarky staff. Avoid.

We visited during the week for an after dinner drink. My first impressions was extremely positive! I loved the décor! The first problem was service… They had bar staff but for some reason they did not look very interested to help us… Once we convinced one of the staff to serve us the drinks followed about 20min later. The next issue was the taste of the drinks, somehow mine tastes like dust! What is more disappointing than he taste of a dirty glass! The last straw was the cleanliness of their toilets… Let me not go into details but I would avoid them at all cost!

Industrial strength lagers. Wine available in two flavours, red or white, and one size — LARGE. Perfect if you’re on a mission to get hammered and picked up by a randy Essex boy. Venue equally suits randy ladies looking for incapacitated man-puppets.

Terrible! The worst cocktails. My negroni was orange, tasted like orange and was full of crushed ice. Stay away!

A relatively new addition to the Shoreditch bar scene. My friends and I stumbled upon it when we wandered around in Shoreditch failing to get into most other bars on a Friday night. It is quite big, with two levels. However, the place is not very welcoming or comfortable. I can’t quite put my finger on why that is the case, but that is just the feeling I have as soon as I walked in. Maybe it is the lay out or the furniture or both. The whole place doesn’t have a whole lot going for it and you will soon forget you have been there.

Most of my reviews are pretty enthusiastic and highly rated, however I mustn’t get over-excited about my visit to The Hoxton Seven. I admit, its a pretty decent bar; spacious, friendly staff and especially love their 2 for £10 pizza’s and the same deal with cocktails from 5 – 8.30pm weekdays. However because this area is so packed with amazing bars and places to eat, and this is a reasonably new face in the neighborhood, I would say only go if you’re planning on getting the pizza & cocktail special!

It’s a bar… There really isn’t anything distinct about this place. Went there on a Friday night as the queue for book club was ridiculous and Callooh Callay was too crowded. We passed by it and it was open and had people so we thought we’d check it out. The upstairs has quite a chill feel too it. It feels almost diner like. The cocktail menu wasn’t that great, it was around £9 a cocktail and they were pretty average. At 12 they informed us that the upstairs was closing and that we should go downstairs. The downstairs area is more barlike and there’s a tiny dance floor(it is pretty small and no one was using it). The music was turned up so you had to shout a bit and there were only 2 other groups besides ours. I guess there’s a reason it was so empty on a Friday. It’s not a bad place by any means just an incredibly average bar in a great location surrounded by many cooler options.
