While not quite the closest pub to our house, this 15 minute walk is always worth the effort! The combination of quiet, «sitting in front of the fire playing scrabble» aspect in combination with the louder«the band’s on! friday night!» vibes is hard the achieve but the Libertine does so flawlessly. And of course, the fact that they have hoegaarden on tap, a couple of arcade video games and board games makes everything even more fun. Love this place!

Awesome pizza specials. A good space with plenty of room for groups. The staff and pleasant and serve with a smile. The place is clean and well lit, with natural light towards the front of the building. A good range of ciders including Rekorderlig on tap. ONTAP. A winner.

Excellent locel pub. It’s in a fairly convenient location for me so I’m an often visitor there with some of my friends. We like going there on weekends and having a few beers. It has a very interesting appeal and I don’t think I’m ever going to get bored from it.

Great place to blow off some steam after a hard workday. I like coming here with friends and having a beer with some chicken wings the main reason for my visits. The service is good and fast and I can;t really find something to complain about.

QuirkyI want to say eclectic except I’m not really sure what that means. I liked the appearance and the vibe to the venue if that helps. The beer let me down with the ubiquitous London Pride and a beer I often hear referred to as ‘The London Pride of The North’ Black Sheep. Want to come back and try the pizza after what I have read.

For a pub in this area that doesn’t sell itself as fancy, this place is really great. The coffee is awesome, the pizza is really good and they have a wide variety of beers. The staff is a bit surley but the prices are cheap so you deal.

15 min walk during lunch, but it appears its worth the effort. Really chilled atmos with good selection of lager+strongbow(of course) sensible food prices, free wifi an they have music/djs etc on different nights. Nice sofas to sit on plus some outside benches to let you watch the council block across the road .I’ll deffo pop back one evening. groovy

As pubs go, the Libertine…(yes, I filed it under restaurants because I’m reviewing food, not nightlife, so sue me)… As pubs go, The Libertine is not too impressive. The décor is old(and not in the charming way), and it smells like stale beer. That said, London is not known for it’s pizza and they serve a pretty decent pie. I hate it when ignorant friends who do not live in London, you know who you are, accuse this city of poor culinary quality. I know that at some point in the mid 1970s London sucked for food. Apparently, English people also had bad teeth back when they were getting bombed to shit during WWII — I think it’s best that we all move beyond that stuff. It’s no longer true. London has changed. People go to the dentist and the food is great, for the most part — I’m just saying that pizza in London isn’t the best. It’s true. Pizza is lacking in London. That’s fine, there’s plenty else to get chipper about. However, as I said, the Libertine serves a pretty good pie and at lunch you can get a half pizza(which is large by my standards) surrounded by rocket and dressing for £4.90. Yes please.
