Nice friendly pub with a couple of cask ales on tap. Not a bad place for watching the football although the sound was not excellent. Also has a good pool table at the back for some mild entertainment. Otherwise conveniently located in West hampstead.

Being an American in London, this was my first time trying a pub. Not sure how authentic it is, but looks as real inside. I liked the family style leather sofas. They have stuff for kids and I was not sure that I should have waited for waiter service or go up to the bar counter to order. Luckily my British friend told me what to do and we got some pretty good sweet potato chips and onion rings.

Good football pub. Drinks are mid-range price, food isn’t really recommended. Unless you’re in the area, nothing to special to it. Spacious, though, so good for relaxing.

I live just around the corner and it’s just a cute and lovely little neighborhood pub. Beers are ok, ciders are GOOD(berries&lime! my favorite, but I guess it depends on taste) and the food is ok. They offer menus and deals(tuesday to thursday) and you can eat and drink for less than 10£. Even the grilled salmon is more than ok! Will definitely go there again, fast service, lovely staff and — a plus since I am italian — european football in tv, from Serie A to Bundesliga. :)

They’ve kicked all the drug dealers out and it no longer resembles a soup kitchen. They service is fast, beer is good and many bar snacks for your enjoyment. Football is always on with plenty of screens to watch. A pool table if your that way inclined. Loses a star for the lack of seats. Lovely pub, just keep the coke heads out and I shall return…

Does exactly what it’s supposed to. Good beer at good prices. Food is actually very decent considering how cheap it is. The ultimate burger is superb. Friendly staff who you can have a laugh with and a pool table. Solid boozer.

Pretty decent pub. Great staff. They will tell you the truth about what’s good and bad on the menu. Plus they are really friendly too. The pub has a chilled atmosphere with Sky Sports on 3 or 4 screens with plenty of sitting area. A pint and a football match on, great place to enjoy the simple things of life.

The Pub formerly known as the«Rat and Parrot» no longer exists, since about 2005, maybe earlier. It’s now the Railway. The Railway is a lovely little local pub that is steeped in history and is currently being redone in someway. They have a really good kitchen with some the nicest food in West Hampstead, only a small problem though, no where to sit and eat your nice food. I think its because of the floor space, it a bit weird. Still though its nice for somewhere to spend a few hours and i have found myself wanting to leave due to bad ergonomics or summink like that.

Though it has been 5 years since my trip to London, the Rat and Parrort was a great place to stop, have a pint or a bit to eat. Nice Atmosphere and close to our friends flat.

During my ’04 trip to London, this was my usual first stop in the morning. Roll out of bed at my hostel around noon, and make my way here to take advantage of their £2 pint special. Dunno if they still do that, or if the price is still the same, but it definitely saved my bank account while I was visiting.

The Railway is a big, local boozer that is probably best described as ‘all things to all people’, attracting a pretty broad cross-section from its Kilburn /West Hampstead borders location, and with a strong Anzac influence from the staff. The Railway is much more down to earth than The Gallery,(just round the corner on Broadhurst Gardens), and less full-of-itself than places like Eclipse(further up West End Lane). The flip-side of that lack of pretension is that it can sometimes feel a bit rough around the edges. It’s normally quite lively, and gets particularly busy on weekend evenings, for sport, and for its regular parties(the usual set-piece Halloween, New Year affairs), and has a popular Sunday evening quiz. Since the re-opening of Wembley it also attracts big pre-game crowds on matchdays, being one of the last decent boozers before the Stadium a few stops up the Jubilee Line. The beer’s fine, the food’s not bad, and the size of the place means it’s normally possible to get a seat. All round decent ‘local’.
