Try the sticky toffee pudding and you won’t be disappointed. It’s by far the best I’ve ever had!

Red Lemon is delicious! Admittedly, the service was a little slow the night we went, but I’ve got to admit… we didn’t mind at all. The Wednesday we were there, they were doing 50% off from ALL of the food. SERIOUSLY — it was a dream come true. So of course when I see a bargain like THAT, I had to make the most of it. I started with my favorite scotch eggs from the bar, which were very good — the classic crispy outershell with sausage between the eggs and a side of yummy aioli. The Shepherd’s Pie was a very, very well done take on the standard pie… so good and so filling. Then I ended the meal with Sticky Toffee Pudding. Also good and not too sweet. The atmosphere was fantastic and food was great. Service was ok, but I’m sure this will continue to improve over time. Hurray for The Red Lemon!

Came here to watch the rugby World Cup. Shame there wasn’t really any atmosphere. Comfortable seating areas. Cosy like sitting in your own living room. The soup was delicious. The chicken salad amazing but the mash potato was wayyyyyy too salty. Like pretty much inedible. Not sure I’d come back here, think there are better places nearby. Friendly staff though so an A+ for that.

Had a lovely post work festive drink in this cosy pub! Tucked away just a few minutes walk from the portobello road, you could really feel the neighbourhood vibe inside. The corner on the ground floor had the perfect festive atmosphere we were seeking, roaring wood burning fire, decorated tree, rustic candles dotted around the place– just picture perfect on a cold winters night! Knocked a few stars off for their lack of mulled wine(they’d have it ‘later’) as well as the disappointing pop up festive bar upstairs, which is why we visited! We were expecting a bustling festive room, but upstairs was empty and very cold, so we stayed downstairs with the fire instead. They did say it gets busier on the weekends, but I’d stick to the main floor! Cheese palate provided a nice sustenance, but the mulled grapes were a miss, tasted a bit like a scented candle!
